  1. FAIL! I spotted a tiny hose.....the hose for the gauge...yes...that had blown off. But I couldn't see it! I went straight for the jugular and thought I'd blown a main hose. I did have a few that were loose, they've now been tightened also. The other issue is still there however, when in vacuum, the gauge doesn't shoot down to -14, it sits at -10 and I can't pressurise the system I forget the make of the boost leak gauge. I'll ask Jim, it was one of Josh Lake's. I still generate +14lbs
  2. It was a known working gauge....
  3. You'd hear something quite audible....which I don't. No, it's boosting all ok. Just not as responsive and feels like it's running out of puff.
  4. I've been trying to isolate a chronic boost leak and just can't for the love of god find out what the issue is. Currently I've got the front end of my Z off (and as a result I've now missed my MOT) checking as much of the pipework as possible, everything is tight, all the hoses are fitted correctly and in good condition yet the boost needle sits on 0. I have an additional boost leak somewhere else which I have had for a while that I can't identify either noticed by when off boost, vacuum doesn't drop totally to -14 (sits around -10) Despite rigging it up to a boost leak detector, absolutely NOTHING and it's driving me up the ****ing wall. What else can I possibly do!? Symptoms * Boost needle sits at 0 all the time. * No hissing - feels like it develops boost still, just not as responsive. * Boost leak detector indicated atmospheric pressure (system wouldn't pressurise). * No visible or audible leaks, hoses all fitted correctly and tightened down.
  5. Faulty ACSD ECU (sits under the main ECU in the passenger footwell). Is yours JDM or UK? If it's JDM, then it's a great time to upgrade to the UK version which is not restricted.
  6. The language is Potato I think Dean.
  7. The recall was only released by Nissan USA, it wasn't agreed in Europe or Japan. You won't get anything I'm afraid.
  8. I don't like boxing. :( ...or any type of 'fighting' that's a sport. Never even heard of the second person.
  9. He'd make a great politician! lol
  10. You will...it's not really that expensive in the grand scheme of things! I think you'll be wanting to check into your chiropractor first though!
  11. Who is able to make this coming Sunday? Weather is looking pretty rotten, so I'll unlikely be in the Z.
  12. Your car is gonna be a right bone-shaker when you're finished with it!
  13. Unless you have a larger/dual intake housing, then no, a single filter should be fine. If you have dual MAF (ie, a Selin translator) then you're reducing restriction. The A'pexi filter for the 300zx bolts to the factory holes on the MAF - no modification is required. I've never experienced issued with it not running well in wet weather....as I never drive it in wet weather or the winter lol. You can make a deflector which would stop most of the ingress. The filter sits quite high up anyway behind the nose panel and you'd only really have issues with large volumes of water.
  14. In terms of UK shows - I loved the NEC last year, that was awesome. The summer stuff at Beauleau is always nice too - very relaxing. I didn't think much of Japfest to be honest, been a few times; as Sir Charles said above, other than the track time (which I don't participate in), the rest is seemingly just a sausagefest of chavs and poorly modified cars with their LEDs flashing and their subwoofers thumping. JAE has never really appealed to me (as a show/venue) - but I haven't been, so can't comment on it. I'm not really into the modified scene (bodykits, lairy paint, LEDs everywhere and flamer kits) which is mainly what it seems to be geared toward and the enticement of 5-a-side football, pub quizzes, karaoke and tug-a-war have done absolutely nothing to gain my interest - you look at the 'activities' on the main JAE website and you'd be led to believe it was some sort of event for under-privileged teenagers, not a car show. I know there's more to it than that and I am sure the camaraderie of our club members make it a lot of fun - as with all club events. Zedfest I haven't been interested in either for a totally different reason - driving hours to go and camp outside a scout hut. I'd really like to do LakeZ one year. :)
  15. The standard airboxes are pretty restrictive, are you sure you wouldn't just want to get a replacement cone filter? A'pexi manufacture the best our cars can get.
  16. Come and collect your fucas and tension rods!!
  17. Terrible photo, but I fitted my brand new Nardi Torino. This wheel has been sat in a box for about 15 years! I love old-skool stuff. So happy with it, it looks a LOT better in the flesh, please excuse the dirty interior, it needs a good vacuum! Gaz, I'll be able to post you out the Momo now!
  18. ZNationals Branson Z Fest is close behind though, but that's mostly because I'm good friends with most that go. :)
  19. IMO, I wouldn't fit 'just the skirts' as you'll make it look unbalanced. Just my 2 penneth. :)
