  1. Spent all evening at AndrewG's modifying my S2 door cards to accept S1 belts! Finally I can complete the interior!
  2. Front screens are made under licence by Pilkington and are the only glass part that is. Having a new windscreen will entail removal of the windscreen trim, the cowls (which are sometimes brittle), their associated fasteners which fall to bits and the top seal. New Pilkington screens don't come with the original top-seal - this will have to be ordered separately from Nissan (it can't be saved). There was a time when replacement screens also came complete with new windscreen side trims, but I believe this is no longer the case. So bear that in mind. Windscreen trims are also a pain in the ass to refit, even new ones take some fiddling around and plenty of swearing. If you're going to do that part yourself, I advise replacing the top clips and when removing or refitting, do that prior to refitting the cowls. I am surprised National Windscreens quoted you that much, unless of course you were quoted on a bronze-tint replacement. The blue-tint glass will cost you about £150-£200 fitted, but then you're blighted with miss-matched glass if your Z is an early import with bronze glass.
  3. Blimey, you seem to have problems with everyone you deal with.....
  4. When Hotmail was first launched back in 96 or 97 I had just started college and everyone was getting stupid email addresses - it was just a silly name I chose from 'back in the day'.
  5. 'Revolting' is the word I think you're looking for Si.
  6. Can you stop bringing my name up in your posts? I don't know why you keep doing it!! I haven't responded to any of this.
  7. Looking really cheesy now IMO, time hasn't been kind on the 'styling' at all.....mind you, I thought it was rather garish looking when it was built with all its fibreglass bits glued to it. Clean looking still though.
  8. You can't get the top trim off without cutting through those clips as they sit inside an enclosed box section (unless I am corrected). You won't damage the actual trim by doing so either.
  9. There are clips in the top trim. One either side. They press-in when the top trim is slid over the glass and then the whole lot bonded in and have to be cut when the screen is cut out. They are part of the top trim. It's not essential they're replaced, you can simply re-use the top-trim, there are also 2 locator tabs on the lower corners. Again, not really essential they're replaced either. They're there mainly for manufacturing purposes so that the vehicle can be moved and worked on immediately after the screen is bonded in. There are clips in the rear quarter windows in the corners that do the same thing.
  10. That's because the rear screen is fragile. If they break it, it's around £650 new as it's a Nissan-only part. As for the weatherstrips and seals, just buy new ones. The old seal will be hard and won't reseat. The lower seal is around £80. The top seal is a lot more expensive if that can be saved. It's rigid though, so has a higher chance of being saved. There are 2 clips in it though that the windscreen guy will have to cut through.
  11. Sounds about right. I think it was £60 to remove and refit my rear screen and about £30 for each corner window. I wouldn't quibble about £150.
  12. Oh well. Try a small independent.....
  13. You probably went through to the main National Windscreens switchboard. Go to your local depot. They've always been more than happy to do work on my Z.
  14. Thanks Jerrick, were the designs changed at all? I seem to recall earlier versions were slightly different - was that to do with spring rate?
  15. Really? I'm the other way round. I thought the earlier ones looked dreadful and they've aged REALLY badly. This is just ugly - a Mitsubishi Carisma with a giant spoiler.
  16. Not totally sure on the seal kit for the rack. I'm not aware there was a seal kit available, from Nissan or otherwise. Steering rack gaitors, I'd always buy brand new, these can be found here: http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=241&category_id=62&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7
  17. 1. The colour 2. The rear lights 3. The filler to secure the rear lights 4. The worst front bumper known to man 5. The worst rear spoiler known to man (even worse than those big gay wings....just) 6. The Frey-Bentos wheels 7. The nose panel (which you can't see) 8. The 'Klingon-head' bonnet, which you also can't see 9. The awful, vile, unflattering, ill-fitting fibreglass cheese-grater wings 10. The ride height 11. The side skirts 12. The 4 tons of filler used to produce this grotesque creation 13. The garish plastic looking rhubarb and custard interior 14. The ridiculous speakers in the middle of the door cards 15. The pillar gauge pods 16. The enormous TV screens in the sun visors 17. The red engine bay pipework 18. The chequer-plate metal floor mats 19. The welded up panel where the Perspex-strip should go 20. The rabbit-hutch mesh
  18. I for one am utterly glad that that era is coming to an end. Compared to 10 years ago when all manner of revolting body kits and tacky interior downgrades made for a pretty sore sight. It was abominations like this which helped seal the downturn in public opinion on these cars.
  19. Having spent a LOT of time there, I'd agree they're very nice - but go to Scottsdale in Arizona and you'll be blown away (not blown though)! City girls are not easy! haha Too many tattooed and pierced up chicks on the West Coast.
  20. 'Special Edition'?
  21. Indeed, what a dope! *hangs head in shame*!
  22. Do bear in mind that your car has a green or blue tint - I don't believe you can get these in that tint, only bronze tint which will not look great as the rest of your car has green or blue-tint glass.
  23. I've told you this is a turd already! Look at the sill returns. It's been for sale for over half a year....I wouldn't go there with yours mate! :p
