FAO graham foley people
Indeed this graham foley guy is a scumbag and needs to be catched. Im sure the blood curdling screams of 300zx users could make Braveheart look like bambi. But perhaps the commitee of 300zx.co.uk could do something proactive out of site to catch him he is catched. And i dont mean baseball bats at 3am. More like like entrapment by some transaction to the fella. With the whole process recorded so what was done is irrefutable. There are lots of 300zx users who have expertise in the internet who can help with this. Its a suggestion and though there is much rightous emotion about this whatever is done against him should not be done with rampant bloodlust. But if the bugger is prosecuted we can rejoice then.

Front brake upgrade
I know its not cheap but how much would it cost to slap on 350Z brembo brakes all round on a zed?
-
How did they do this to the rear window?
gagh dont try to make zeds, nay any car, look like a ferrari. Though i did like that russian zed conversion.. which most people dont :x:
-
can you tow a zed?
My zed is lowered and only 5" of the ground. I have a towing rope in the boot but im not sure if i would have to take the front bumper of to get to the toeing eye lol.

Spare 2 minutes to help a Z n00b?
A car like the 300zx you own with the heart and not your head. Its more than getting you from A to B. When your cruising on a sunny A road with the engine burbling away its pure heaven, i feel king of the road in mine :) When the buggers brake down its a pain. But as far as fast sportscars go its Japanese engineering makes it fairly solid. If you rag it all the time it will brake like any car. Though i think if you tootle around and give it some welly now and then it should be fine. Main thing is to get a good un. As its a huge false economy to get a bad cheap one. Myself i got one import from Japan for £5500 with a 6 month warranty. You should be able to get a sound one for around £4000. Oh yes dont do anything remotly fancy in the wet :wack:

Surprising fuel economy
I have done 410 miles on a full tank in my swb tt zed once. Going to and from cardiff at a steady 55mph.

After a good ECU upgrade
Yo yo and thrice yo I am after an ECU upgrade chip that has good mappings. Who could supply me with one and can i fit this myself to a jap import swb manual TT. My zed's engine is stock with a Greddy Profec II B boost controller. With the ECU i was thinking of having a boost setting of 13psi, just short of 1 bar.

Good Taste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like that paint job but i dont think anyone else would.. so i would not have it. ah well

This is my shopping list >>>>>> Ideas?
Brakes! The zeds stock brakes aint the best. Loud pedal action is curtailed cos you have to factor in a much longer braking distance. Its my next upgrade. Smithy does a nice kit :)

Interior retrim ?? ?
I am .. still!, replacing my tweed with red vinyl. You strip of the tweed then use an adhesive remover to get the old glue gunk off. I got some precut vinyl pieces. Two problems i have is using a glue that takes several minutes to fix the vinyl, too fast is not good as i need to reposition the vinlyl piece. Also the adhesive needs to be spread evenly and not to thick so to avoid snot balls that show up under the vinyl. And getting vinyl around curves is tricky. On some parts of the door skin i found it impossible to get one whole piece wrapped around the skin without chopping some parts off to make acute bends and curves. So what i did is do the patchwork stuff out of visible areas, like where the door skin ventillation vent matches the vent on the dashboard. My job aint perfect but it looks fairly good

Tyre Pressures
As i never had driven a car like a zed with its large tyres i naively thought that if the tyres were going flat i would see some sag - not so with zed tyres. I drove around for 3 weeks without checking pressure and lo the tyre came of the alloy rim on a town street. If that happened at high speed i would have been a goner. Sure thats bloody obvious to most but not to me arf! I check tyre pressure twice a week now.

other options then HID?
Thanks.. but sod that lol. I will get at the headlamps form taking the bumper off.

other options then HID?
meh how much is pain in the arse lol. Someone said removing the drives side bush on a steering rack a pain in the ass and i found it impossible. Tips please for removing headlamp whilst bumper is on :)

hicas (front to rear lines)
Ah the hicas debate. A lot of people say it makes the car feel floaty at high speed going round bends. To be honest i have never driven another car in the same league as the zed. Mine has lowered suspension, new Falken 451 tyres new suspension bush's and to the best of my knowledge its setup the best i can. I do think the car feels floaty going down twisty a roads but they does not really unerve me. If i thought getting rid of hicas did actually improve handling as well as feel i would do it. Having a big rear spoiler does help to pin the back to the road the faster i get.

Tuning a 300zx TT - NOS ???
.. picking up on this thread how much psi can normal tubs be taken. I guess it depends its all down to how much the engine is stressed at say 14psi with normal tubs. How about 4 razzes a week at 14psi for a minute at a go. I have a Greddy Profec IIB boost controller and will get my ECU uprated next month.

how bad are targas for leaks?
The rubber seal that is part of the targa top above the driver has deformed somewhat which makes the window pop out at the top. So i get a whistling noise above 70mph and water comes in during heavy rain. Should get it sorted.

other options then HID?
The headlamps on a zed often get misted up inside and can really reduce the power of the beam that comes out. A rule of thumb is if you cant see the bulb glass enclosure inside the cylinder in the head lamp assembly then your head lamp assembly is misted up. Mine is but to take apart and clean the headlamps i need to take the front bumper off which is not an easy peasy job.

Car security 101
Nope no one challenged me or dad while we was bashing away. I went into Homebase for a claw hammer and told them i was nicking my own car. The lad on the checkouts said hey thats so cool, wish i could watch.

Car security 101
I was going to the gym and stopped of at Homebase to get a padlock for a gym locker as someone at work had his regular locker ripped off and had his debit\credit cards fleeced. I parked at Homebase got the padlock and went back to the car. I always used a steering wheel lock. But i only had one key left and the fob bit had broken away so i used a bare key that i stored under the car floor mat in a receess. But i lost the key! So i ran back home, i had my gym kit on, how handy! Looked for the key at home then me and pop went to homebase to rip off the steering wheel lock. We bashed away at the lock for 30 mins then we started cutting the sheet metal. In 5 mins we cutted a portion of sheet metal of that let us take the steering wheel lock off. This was supposed to be a high security lock. But i now know i can take them off in 5 mins with a high power cordless drill and sheet metal snips.

H.I.D bulb problem
Boldy thanks for the offer but i have already gone for a HID ballast on ebay for £35 that has the right connectors i need. My original HID kit was specific to my jap import zed. The HID ballast looked high quality, umm
