  1. Happy birthday! get the zed and the rex out and go for a blast!
  2. Happy birthday ! :)
  3. Haha, ok deal! I'm chuffed I'll have some cash to get the rex to some tracks now. I'm going to book some more days with John Lyon as well. I would have come to that meet last night but I had the Ben Harper concert in London. Its the second time I've missed a meet due to already booking things. I'm considering getting booked up for the Isle of Man meet now. It'd be awesome getting the rex around those roads!
  4. Wow! Thats a serious car clean!! I've got some of the maguiers clay. Its pricey but pretty good for getting those little black bits off that you can never remove with a normal sponge.
  5. Lol, hello mate, thought I'd let you break the news! Great to meet you guys to, don't think the doves sh*t on you! I know you'll love owning the zed, she's a beaut. It just occured to me that she doesnt' have a name other than 'RedZed' maybe you should christen her?
  6. Yeah, thats exactly the same as what I get Richard.
  7. My Twin Turbo running 330rwbhp (aprox 400 crank) does 5 miles to the 1 pound coin on the motorway and 3-4 miles to the shiny 1 pound coin around town (I think that works out about 25 plus mpg on the motorway, 15 plus in town, but can't be arsed to check) which is pretty good compared to you lot haha Ah sh*t I've just (almost) sold it Damn! I think the SAFC really helps with the fuel economy.
  8. Nope :) I'm sure he'll let you know when he gets home so I'll leave it as a surprise!
  9. Christ mate, you built yours with your own hands! I was gutted when my first zed went (even though it was fecked) because I'd rebuilt it myself
  10. Yeah as Manta said, start right at the basics and go from there. Check the compression first. Then go from there
  11. I must admit the Rx7 doesn't fill the space that the zed has taken up. The rx7 is stupidly quick and handles phenomenally but its incredibly loud and isn't something you could drive everyday. I love it but in a different way to the zed. The zed was very fast and great handling but it was also great taking the roof off and cruising around in the sun. Also it drives so smooth that its always a pleasure. Hopefully I'll have enough money to use the rx7 on tracks which is basically why I bought it as although my zed is well orientated to the track it still would make sense to have something lighter. Only down side is I'll have to get a sh*tty daily drive that can tow. I am thinking about getting a cheap drift b*tch though that I can rag around?? watch this space lol
  12. Thanks guys, its really appreciatted. I havn't spent as much time at meets as I'd have liked due to moving house and leaving the marines and all that but I feel like I have friends here and definitely will be getting to meets if you don't mind the mind me turning up in the 'slippery banana' ! The soon to be new owner isn't that far away so hopefully I'll be able to keep an eye on it as well! :)
  13. I'm not going anywhere mate! I've just renewed my subscription lol. I'll be along, we'd be lost without knowing you guys up here!
  14. I'm a big believer in appreciating all good cars but (please don't take this the wrong way) I think you have a case of not stepping outside and looking in on things mate. Its a straight fact that a Z32 300zxTT is a better car than a mk3 supra, just as a mk3 supra is a damn site better than a Z31 (earlier 80s zed) which is more in line with what the mk3 supra is competition for. The mk4 supra was delayed so they could make the numbers better than the Z32 300zxTT. Therefore the Mk 4 supra which is the zed competition (not the mk3) was a faster car. I'd still say that the zed handles better than the mk4 supra, but no zed owner can argue that the supra is faster in a straight line and more tunable due to the straight six. Its not an argument point, just straight fact agreed by any performance car person out there. Obviously this is taking all cars in standard form. Modded is another kettle of fish altogether, with a whole load of different angles and takes.
  15. Just had someone look at the zed. We went for a test drive, talked through the mods and receipts and all that, then pulled it apart and did a compression test which came out 150 on all six ( after checking with two different compression testers because it showed it as being 130 odd to start with in number one cylinder but was the same as the others with the other tester). Anyhows as expected he really liked it and has left a deposit, and is going to pick it up in the next few days or so. I knew I'd be a little sad but TBH I feel absolutly gutted now. I hope I'm doing the right thing as its been the best car I've ever had and never gave me any problems. If I had more money knocking around I'd keep the Zed as well but I've got no slush fund in case of problems with the Rx7 and also need to buy something practical that can tow. I feel really sad   I think its gone to a good owner though (already a member on here but I'll leave it for him to let you all know about it). I knocked some cash off to sort the bits that need doing so I'm basically getting what I paid for it almost exactly one year ago. I have spent over £2500 on it though fitting the skyline brake system and regular new tyres and all but its been worth all the money I've spent as I've had a great experience with it. I'm sure it will do the same for its new owner. Very sad, Dave
  16. 7K!! feck you could of bought mine for less!! not that that helps. Deffo do the PCV valves. Did all the other hoses and stuff get replaced when the engine was done. Also what was the state of the other engine/turbos? do you know for definate they were ok and not smoking??
  17. Nice one! I had a similar one last year. I got called in and 'told' that I was taking the lads on a 'surfing instructional adventure training course' haha cue: lots of p*ssed up bootnecks half drowning in the white water while I paddled out and had some good waves lol
  18. They've got a new CD out, I was going to buy it at the concert but the queue was huge. I like to always buy the good CDs to support the good bands.
  19. Eek! Rac is the answer! My old escort run about broke down a mile from my old house in Gloucestershire (cough cough, ehem :) ) and ended up getting carried all the way to Cornwall (where it just so happens I was on the way to; more coughing and clearing of throat) . 250miles winner, although the car was fecked anyhow in the end but was more than worth the RAC membership.
  20. Thats the one mate, a great band. I'm a big fan of the chillis as. I would have liked to have seen them live, ended up just buying the DVD and learning a few songs on the guitar!

LMAO, I've just been eating some on toast as well!
  22. Agree with you about this being what modded cars are about Si. Don't know if I'd be playing with an Astra chassis though? Good thread all the same.
  23. Surely we don't want your house on it Si?
  24. Went to see Ben Harper at the Apollo London last night. I think its the best gig I've been to. Awesome musicians and the music is really suited to being live as well. I mentioned I was going a while back and nobody seemed to know who it was. Its well worth having a listen if you see it. Kind of hard to catagorize but Rock/Blues/Soul/Gospel lol! Dave
