Tyres
Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. I've had Continentals and Pirellis, but these are the best in wet and dry.

The cost of postage :(
Z Centre are very expensive for everything, I'm constantly amazed they are still in business.

Happy days for you bud :)

Orange peel as standard?
Worst thing I ever done to my first Zed, ended up wrecked with stone chips after the stonechip was removed, ended up getting them re-sprayed again, and when I sold it they were looking bad once more. Much prefer my current Zed having the original look and well protected.

Mapping and reliability ..........
I have to say, in 20 years of different forums catering to many different things, this place is the mostly strongly policed by far.

Mapping and reliability ..........
Why can't people just say outright who did what, or what exactly the problems are, or show the map details on the forum, instead of speak to this guy, or email the info here, etc? It makes it look like people are talking rubbish or making stuff up. There does appear from reading different posts over the last 6+ months to be problems with cars failing after mapping, this could be due to old components not being able to handle the power increase, or mapping/fueling issues or other issues, either way I think people should either not comment or comment giving all info....this may save other peolle having the same problems, blown engines then blown bank balances trying to fix them. We are here to save Zeds and keep the cars going, so sweeping problems under the carpet does not help.

Insurance woes
I just renewed with classic line 302 this year,9k agreed value. Great team of people, always happy to help and easy to deal with.

Mapping and reliability ..........
I got my car mapped by a place near me 360bhp and 400lb/ft. At first I wanted more power but now I've driven it like this for a while it drives really well, and is reliable. Most people I know with high powered tuned cars are constantly fixing them, I much prefer just driving mine now.

Mapping and reliability ..........
I've bought loads of old cars and rarely ever have problems mate. Always take my time and buy a car that has been well looked after, with piles of history and in good condition. Buying an old car that needs work is a massive risk though. I wouldn't let it put you off, just make sure you buy a good one :)

Wing Mirror Wiring - Oddity of the week!
I'm not sure where all the wiring goes I do remember something like this happening on an Evo a mate had. Turns out the door has got smashed, and someone had used a door from an earlier model with slightly different wiring, so mirror wouldn't work. Probablhy totally different to the case here, but just made me remember that lol. Sorry I can't help other than post a random story :)

Zed no.2
Hows that car for rust underneath? I'm sure I mind seeing posts sometime in the past, and it was rusting everywhere?
-
Japspeed decats - are they just wrong?
I've got these on my car, were a pig to fit. Ended up taking them to an exhaust place and they modified them so they fit better and didn't hit the chassis, as they tended to knock when hitting bumps.

Ticks all the boxes.
A quick check shows there is no MOT history for that registation plate?

What did you do to your zed today?
New front tyres for me today, lovely Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. The Pirellis still had decent tread but being 7 years old, time to go.

Paint Correction
Great stuff mate well done.

Plans for the new zed cave have started
Happy days mate :) I built my new Zed garage last year, lots of hard work, but worth it...also doubles as my detailing studio.

Paint Correction
Same here! Menzerna and Lake Country, seems to fit my style well, soft, medium, hard, sticky paint, doesn't matter, I've found I can use Menzerna to sort them all easily. The Nanolex is great as well :)

Paint Correction
I learned loads from his videos a while back. Those marks should be easy to sort with a light polish and polishing pad most likely, although you may need something stronger, that's the beauty with detailing, every car and every paint is different. I didn't like the Meguairs polishes, mostly use Menzerna stuff now which is excellent for me. One thing to remember from the Junkman is to never try and correct a large area until you are 100% happy with your work on a small area. What do you plan to use for protection once it's sorted?

Less than a month after buying my zed and I go and do this…
Hope you get it sorted mate, I have nothing to offer except good luck :)

Most annoying motoring habits
People that drive too close. People that don't ever indicate. People that use the wrong lanes, especially at roundabouts. Not using engine braking, almost every woman I know destroy discs and pads by never adjusting gears and just hammering on the anchors to slow down. Thrashing cars from a cold start. Loads more.

Paint. Where did I go wrong.
Fair enough mate, we do like to learn new stuff :)

Paint. Where did I go wrong.
I can get a bonnet painted round my way for around £150-200. I know we all like to do things ourself and save cash whilst havng fun, but sometimes it's not worth it. Rather than all the hassle and guessing, just pay and get it sorted mate?
