Traders and MOT checking
The MOT system being computerised is one of the best things to ever happen in the car world. Has saved me countless trips as you can see straight away what is junk. Still can be caught out with being having cars MOTd by their mates etc, but its made a huge difference none the less.

Losing the love with the Z
And after the Skyline, I've always fancied a Ferrari but can't ever see that, though an older V12 Aston would do :)

Losing the love with the Z
I've owned Zeds for around 10 years and loved all of them. Last year decided to change to a Skyline R33 GTR and so happy I did. I will always love a Zed but a change is also good.

Vibration through steering wheel under braking.
Standard brembo discs and pads with both mate. I didn't expect there to be any difference after reading loads and initally they seemed the same (car had 350z discs on it when I bought it.) But once I did some high speed braking there was a clear difference, just better all round.

Twingo RS, anyone?
Always liked little Renaults. Enjoy.

Vibration through steering wheel under braking.
I would advise against going for the cheaper 350z discs as having used both them and proper GTR discs the 350z discs offer much poorer performance especially at temperature. I was sceptical as they are very similar but there is a difference and after feeling it I wouldn't advise going the 350z option.

Engine bay cleaning
Bilt Hamber Surfex is the best degreaser I've used for engine bay detailing.

Breaker rant

Lovely blue 300zx
Did you catch the reg number or any part of it? I sold my zed to a lad from Hereford in the summer which isn't too far away.

Hi i want to change my m/t oil
They must have no clue what they are doing. If you change oil with new stuff, your box doesn't get worse, not in the 10 or so I've ever done, thye always feel much better. Redline MT90 and molyslip in my last zed and it was like a new box.

Autoglym High Definition Wax
There are far better options out there than Autoglym these days. Loads of really nice waxes, I've been using Power Maxed Tsunami for some customers, for durability Bilt Hamber Finis Wax is great for the winter.

300zx N/A Gumtree
Hi mate. The garage that worked on my Zed was Hypertech in Bonnybridge. They were the only people I could find who had worked on them before and also didn't want crazy money at the time. Other places were quoting 800 quid just for the belt to get done. Can't remember exactly but I got the belt/tensioners/water pump etc done for between 300-400.

ECUTalk gauge analysis help
A good idle reading for AAC is 15-20. You need to adjust the tps and the base idle then disconnect the battery for a half hour or so to clear the self learn.

1993 JDM 300ZX TT Manual TK3 Blue.....Now £7,995..!!!
After 6 wonderful years together it is time to parts ways. It’s a 1993 (K) LWB twin turbo manual (converted) import. It was imported in 2007 and I am the second UK owner, first owner had it 4 years, I’ve had it 6. It has just over 82k miles on it. It has just passed it's MOT with no advisories, MOT Expiry is July 2018. I have never used the car on salty icy roads and it’s always garaged and SORN’d over the winter period….and it as very rarely seen a wet road other than when caught out! It is immaculate and I'm a fool for selling it, but I’m after a change as between this and another 300ZX I’ve been driving them for almost 10 years. It truly is an excellent example, absolutely no rust, all electrics work, cruise control, seats etc all work perfectly, only thing that doesn’t is the aircon which has never bothered me, just take the Targa panels off on hot days! The car is very fast and is running around 360bhp and 395lb/ft torque, I’m not always a fast driver, I like acceleration but the car has never been drifted or tracked. Interior is great conditon for it's age, many parts have been replaced and it is better than cars many years younger. The exterior is 95% immaculate, with just some minor marks here and there, again for 25 years old it looks brilliant. It has Michelin tyres on all 4 corners, fronts are almost new, brakes, suspension components are all in good condition as many have been changed, the car starts, drives and stops well, oil pressure is excellent and the car never runs hot. This car will sell itself if it is viewed in the flesh. Thousands of pounds and many, many hours spent looking after this great car. There is masses of invoices etc to prove work done, below are some of the mods :- Autowatch CAT 1 Alarm. 18” wheels (re-furbished over the winter, excellent) Nistune ECU. Zedworld one piece prop shaft. Japspeed downpipes and cat bypass pipes. Kakimoto backboxes. Baileys evo dump valves. Apexi air filter. ARC side mount intercoolers (very rare) 555 Injectors & upgraded later style injector harness. AEM fuel pump. Alloy radiator Leather re-trim in black and grey. 99 spec rear lights. 2nd generation PTU fitted (1st generation prone to failure) UK spec speedo cluster. Exedy clutch. Nismo gear box mount. K Sport 8 pot calipers. 330mm discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Twin A pillar pods with Turbosmart boost gauge fitted. Many hoses changed for silicon items The car was safely mapped once the injectors and fuel pump where upgraded, it is running well within its means and with some other mods could be tuned further, but as the car is already such a joy to drive, I do not believe it is needed. There are also many other small like upgraded lights, chrome interior handles, led lights under the electric window switches, these all make a difference and really set the car off. There are probably other things I have forgotten, if you want to know anything, just ask. I hope it goes to someone who has looked after it as well as myself and the previous UK owner, if I had room I would keep it somewhere and let its value soar, but sadly I cannot, plus the wife would kill me! Looking for 8995.

Newbie considering ownership
LOL. I love my zed mate, but after 6 years it's time for a change. It will be interesting putting a value on her as she's such a great car all round, not concours as I do drive it, but pretty damn good.

Newbie considering ownership
Welcome aboard mate. One joins and one leaves as I will be selling my Zed soon to fund the purchase of a Skyline.

My Hermes - useless tossers
The company is fine, most of the drivers are good as well. But there are a few bellends like in any job. Your area must have one lol.

Compression test
Last time I checked mine the lowest was 162 and highest 167, the rest where between those two. For a TT I'm sure I read 175 is the perfect number.

80s icon the renault 5 gt turbo
I've always loved 5s. Been trying to get one for years but just too expensive now. Crazy when you consider what you get compared to a Zed!

Turbonoz?
The base idle and tps are fine, sorted them myself with conzult. ECU at idle is timing for 20 from conzult, using a timing light the block is timing at 15. The idle valve i've read should be set at around 15-16, mines is around 22-23 though.....if i use conzult to temporarily adjust my timing -5, i can get the idle valve into the correct range. Another weird thing that this zed and other zeds i've had do is idle high once warmed up at around 1500rpm, but once i come to a stop and sit idling for a few seconds, the idle then comes down to the normal level. If I keep driving the car it keeps idling high, it only comes down when the car comes to a dead stop....strange! Need to have a look at the ecu pin things when I have time. Been busy detailing cars the last 6 weeks.

Turbonoz?
How would I check this mate....and any other info would be handy if you have any. Thanks :)
-
Turbonoz?
It was converted before I got the car, so no idea what method they used to do what needed to be done. Just need to deal with it then as there's nobody I trust near me to fix anything on the Zed.
-
Turbonoz?
It is actually yeah mate?
-
Turbonoz?
All is not lost then at least....life in the old Zeds yet. Not so good in Scotland, we have nothing up here....had a whole host of bad experiences......hopefully my car keeps working although I do need to get my timing fixed as the lads that set it up having it idling at 20 BTDC instead of 15.
