  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! :sad::sad::sad::sad:
  2. When I had my Zed resprayed earlier this year, I paid 3 figures for it. So I wasn't expecting a show-winning paintjob at all. They did a good job, which even Si confirmed at the Nissan Experience, but they let themselves down towards the end as I think they were rushing to get it finished and out of the door. Consequently, there are little bits and pieces that could be better. For what I paid, I can't really whinge - as Bird said to me, I could've paid double and still had the same end result. It looks really nice, but it isn't perfect. But it's infinitely better than it was when I got the car! :thumbup1:
  3. Mark Derby will know all about that white car as the adverts state that Automodz have done the bulk of the work on it.
  4. Definitely stop being cheap then!
  5. Just sent mine across now :)
  6. This thread is right up there with ones like "I'm ok to use DieYung DitchFinder tyres on my Zed, right?" and "Cheap oil's all I need in my highly-tuned VG30, yeah?"
  7. A higher octane rating reduces the chance of knock on an FI engine. It's as simple as that. I personally would only use Morrisons' fuel in an absolute emergency, and even then I'd put super unleaded in asap afterwards. As your Zed is rumoured to be around the 500bhp mark, Bird... stop being so cheap and use the right stuff!! :tt2:
  8. That'll look canny, Tom! :thumbup1:
  9. Tired standard suspension previously. The Meisters make a big difference, both aesthetically and dynamically :)
  10. I hate to be "that guy"... but can someone please edit the title of this thread so that "Phoenix" is spelled correctly...? It's playing havoc with my Spelling OCD!
  11. This poll would've been better had the option been something like "1-2 years, 2-3 years" and so on...!! Coming up on 1 year and 2 months for mine so far :)
  12. The holes in the spoiler suggest it once had that God-awful VS wing on the back...
  13. Nope :) And they may be ugly but they're Nissan's finest and they'll be effectively brand new when I'm done with 'em!
  14. Not 100% decided as yet, but I've a feeling it's going to be something that Mr Parsons will not approve of...!
  15. Good luck, fella! :thumbup1:
  16. Last Xmas it was me under the knife... it's Ian's turn this year. Hope it goes (has gone?) smoothly and your recovery's rapid and complete, buddy :thumbup1:
  17. So, calipers: having finally sourced a spare set of alloy ones, I figured I'd better clean them up prior to being painted: Still a way to go, but this is last night's work using a bench grinder and a wire wheel. Quite a change from how they usually look once they've been removed from a Zed! Once they're painted up, there's brand new seals and pistons for all of them which, coupled with my 345mm discs at the front, should provide ample stopping power. :thumbup1: Cleaning them up is hard work though...!!
  18. If you can hang for a further few days, the Z badge from my steering wheel will be spare as Ian Greenfield's sending me a nice red and silver one - I'm quite happy to put my old badge on your wheel if you want, Mark...?
  19. You seem like an angry man today, Mr Marsh....
  20. The badge that was fitted isn't up to much, so I'll cut the centre pad to enable him to fit the badge off the wheel he has in his Zed at the moment :thumbup1:
  21. It's just black leather with black stitching, Richie - OEM+ and all that :) The rim's been fattened up and the centre pad's been trimmed as well (a controversial move, but that's what he wanted).
  22. I'd like to say a huuuuuge "Thank you!" to Rata2ie (Mark) for being a very patient man! I collected a spare steering wheel from him at JAE and he'd already paid me to have this retrimmed. Roughly 3 months later, it's finally finished and ready to send back to him!! I've managed to fall behind on a lot of the "smaller" jobs in recent times - his being one of them - so apologies for the rather sizeable delay and thanks yet again for being so patient, Mark!
  23. The Speeds are a much more "figure-hugging" seat than the OEM ones, William - if I wasn't still a fairly thin bloke, I'd probably find the seat bases a bit uncomfortable as the lower bolsters would dig into my legs. Not that I know what size or shape you are, of course! I love them. A much better looking seat and much more comfortable too. I'm lucky enough to have the genuine Recaro Z32 subframes for mine so I've no idea how easy or difficult it would be to adapt the stock runners, sorry. They sit at roughly the same height as the standard seats when on their lowest rearmost setting. Because of the shape of the base foam, the front of the Speeds sits higher than the back does, which helps to keep you in position. Hope that helps a little? :)
