  1. Is that turbo murial grafiti piece in your garage? Cars always take a good picture in front of grafiti, I spose it's because it makes them look a bit naughty, as a zed should be
  2. They are smart, good work :thumbup1: I definitely need to get the polish out and go for that photoshoot!
  3. Ahem! I was just reading post number 2 :biggrin::biggrin: Glad you got it sorted sniff
  4. Nice car :thumbup1: This forum is the place to be, a lot of members who know what they're talking about and the sort of people that will drive across country to give you a PTU or a shock absorber in a crisis.
  5. I am only 24 but going on 40, if I could speak to 17 yr old me I would have a word. I am an only child first of my friends to drive and my parents are not petrol heads in the least. I learned from trial and error and after a few fast and cringeworthy years I have settled into a far more mature driving style. I was no hooligan or asbo but out in the countryside on the moors was brave and ignorant.. If you have to fit the box and have your kid sitting at 59mph for a few years, you can go out in your zed with them as a passenger and have them appreciate what it is to enjoy driving well, fast and safely. I had 1.0 and my owm company to find it all out for myself. I would have liked some pointers, would have saved on spray paint and bodge filler :-/
  6. Sat on the train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. More accurately, sat in the bloody door bit! £106 from Darlington to Elgin and you don't get a seat. But I spose these are white peoples problems aren't they
  7. Top idea! Good man :thumbup1: That is going into my lightweight travel toolkit I am putting together. For those who missed it, my 30kg toolkit didn't come with me on my drive south, which meant I ended up needing the AA to despatch to me a rude unhelpful man who could give me a knife and a screwdriver so that I could fix my own car!
  8. Stick mine on the driver side rear 1/4 window, for the extra 10hp
  9. My little cousin had one for 2 years. We haven't really spoken about it but she never got points and must have gone over the limit a few times. I don't thibk she was that impressed though because I think that the price can only go up if it sees youre being a knob, but cant go down if you drive well. It probably varies on both the price and the police thing between companies.
  10. Hicas light can also mean low fluid and these cars often burst power steering lines. Mine used to spurt out on full lock reversing off the drive. Have a check of your level and look for leaks underneath. It may be that.
  11. Cheers spin and Gary, I will explain all in a thread later today :) it will be called... my shit fuel pump! Er, no something more decent, my cheeky fuel computer  Worried
  12. Panic over, it was the fuel pump ecu again. Earthed the pump off the boot floor and got it running. I am at Berwick services now having a macdonnalds. The car is back to how I know it to be, a brilliant machine. Its used half a tank in 200 miles and has beem comfortable and Ive had to reign it in all the way to keep it below 70, the accelerator solid and buzzing beneath my foot the car like an eager dog tugging the lead trying to rush forward. Thanks for the support, I was worried, proper worried haha but seems this time, Ive got away with it. Thank you
  13. Clutch, oil leak, deletes, intercoolers. This is out of the blue!
  14. Drove 50 miles car was amazinga mazing fit strong happy. Stopped for fuel, wouldn't restart, then after 3 mins it did. Got 5 miles and it felt like id run out of fuel, as it slowed I tried to bump it in each gear as if I left the clutch dipped it stopped. But just like fuel starvstion ran down each gear. Then I got check engine and just made it to a lay by. Wouldnt catch at all now it tries sometimes catches faulterjng at 100 rpm! Its been half an hour. This isn't good :-/
  15. Calling all scottish members. I am on the A9 near Aviemore, I think its a ptu failure and the AA will only take me 50 miles. Im on my way to Automodz would you believe! Or at least my parents house in the north east. Please call me 07585118109
  16. Mate that looks great, was it fairly straight forward? How long did it take you? I have the LEDs ready to do the same thing.
  17. Ha I spose it does doesn't it sorry er it'll be fine do that last  mine was a bit low (150psi I thjnk it was) and its been perfectly reliable and strong as an ox for 20 000 miles since so I wouldnt worry. Mine would fall through idle sometimes unless the air con was on that raises it a bit. But I drove a car with hks ssqs the other day and apart from back firing a bit as it dumped it idled fine. A real head scratcher but to my mind, youve proved it has spark, reckon it has fuel, it could be air somehow, perhaps its got a boost leak or something and that is the weakest cylinder so its the first to miss??? Anyway, someone else will solve it, good luck mate :thumbup1:
  18. Sniff my diff  You sound like you know what you're doing mate, mine stumbled like hell when I got it due to leaky dump valves, it runs a lot better without them due to the MAF set up. Have you done a compression test?
  19. They're probably bedded in now, 150 miles of country roads, they're powerful, brake straight, and the pedal is fairly firm. I now have about 15mm of pedal that's like 2 clicks of handbrake, then it goes very hard over about 3mm and gives me a feeling of unlimited braking, but I haven't leant on them yet, that bit where they start to bite moves your head forward. I think the slight slack is my not yet adjusted master brace and standard rears. The pedal will be like standing on a brick when I am finished.
  20. I think, I have sorted it out. I jacked her up an put her on stands took the front wheels and calipers off, I used a plastic green fairly coarse pan scourer on the pads with some brake cleaner aerosol, and used loads of cleaner and blue roll on the discs. I got all the grease off the bells apart from the thinnest film on the feet of the wheel where they meet the bell. While I was at it I put my stillen arbs onto the stiffest settings as they were on soft front and medium rear. I found I have a bent front right drop link??? very strange so I'll get some new ones ordered. I nearly fainted getting the rear onto the right position. I had to basically lie on my back under the driveline head to the rear, and spring in the rear arb while a passer by put the bolts through the holes. I stood up feeling like I could rip a yellow pages in two then nearly passed out HaHa! I had done about 50 miles when my ex-best friend greased them! I went for a good run out of 100 miles, never braking hard, but using them sympathetically a lot. They have pretty much stopped squealing and are really powerful, I think they're bedded in but I'll not kick the arse out of them for another 150 miles or so. So I think, things will be ok?
  21. Mate, that sounds nuts :thumbup1: welcome to the club :)
  22. I need someone here to tell me everything will be fine. My mate who got the car tracked swapped a back wheel for a front (a mistake we had made the other day putting the wheels back on) he put copper grease on the wheel where it sits against the brake bell. I didn't know this and drove the car, the brakes started squealing then shrieking, then went soft and started pulling a bit. I want to cry!
  23. Top job, that looks class :thumbup1:
  24. Such a shame that a mate went well out of his way to help me out and It's rubbish. I'll not tell him.
