wastegate noise
The main problem on zeds is that because the dump is after the maf, after each dump it runs rich. If you change the ecu and run a... er... speed density? Setup. Where you don't use a maf it will be fine. A well set up dump or recirc valve will vent the pressure between the turbo and the throttle just enough that you reduce the stress on the butterfly and turbo. But its ready to go again after a gear shift and hasn't got to fully spool again. The audi quattro noise, is air going backwards through the turbo (which is still spinning forwards) which will eventually wear things out a bit quicker.

wastegate noise
Si is right, I have had most of the above issues. My car came with dump valves over the top of the recircs and they made it run really badly due to the metering issue. It was when I fitted hard pipes that I started hearing my goose honk, to me it sounds like the noise you get when you blow over a milk bottle top. To solve that I am having BDE killers fitted. But you can still hear a "K-ssssshhhhhc" noise with recircs if you have the roof open and are near a wall or something.

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
Wow, proper engineering notes ther thank you. Yeah it came with a 6kg flywheel. The install was done properly and the rear crank seal was replaced it was all cleaned up. Me and mark have discussed the options and were gona let it bed in, it simply seemed unable to cope with the torque it didn't smell oily or anything just slipped at peak tq.

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
I think it does, as it slips it is running right allong the "lifespan of clutch" axis to the bit where it works properly. Then eventually it will wear out. So it is a self solving problem.

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
Driftworks forums with old posts suggest 200 miles of bedding in. Do you think boosting it about straight away is gonna knack it, or will it just not bite well no matter what you do for 200 miles?

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
Thanks Dan, I'll try to mention that without insulting Mark I am sure he knows what he is doing. Any other thoughts from people on bedding in procedures?

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
I normally agree with you get what you pay for but a lot of people have these and they work??? Obviously my last map had a slippy clutch and it actually makes 600 horsepower which is frying this one  Power only limited by clutch slip.

xtd 6 puck clutch slipping help!
I need help please guys, especially from you xtd owners. Mark has fitted my 460ftlbs car with an xtd clutch and flywheel and has called me to say it slips in 4th and 5th. Now Phutumsh has 500 plus horse power and his doesn't slip. Will it bed in is my hopeful question, if so, how should it be bedded in. A bit worried, I don't think its a fault with the part just either it cant hold the power, or isn't run in. Thanks in advance guys.

Dyno predictions?
Good luck :clover: whatever the number it will feel like a million and it's as much about how well it drives (which it will with noz's mapping) as how big your numbers are.

front rotor removal
When you put this back together be very wary of using copper slip to stop thing seizing together. I was recently forced to beat a good friend to death after he put copper grease on my alloy wheel inner and it flicked outward onto my BRAND NEW KSPORTS. Hashtag, not a happy bunny.

Only joking mate, who knows, I had a stock clutch with 460ft lbs at the engine from like 2500rpm and it was right on its limit and kind of worked. If yours is even 25 percent uprated you may be ok :clover: I wasn't wanting to be a dick :)

My Zed's dead
Good luck mate, these things have strong engines you might be all right, there is an infamous Youtube vid of some yank... 'cough' ... gentleman... running one with no oil or water, for an hour, to see if it kills it. It took a long time to actually knacker it. :clover:

k sport brake upgrade reviews
The car has been at Mark Derby's place for a couple of weeks, it will be back early June :-( They started off pretty good a bit spongey then got better and better, I bedded them in in about 350 miles rather than 500, because I could do 500 miles on the motorway and not use them at all. All my miles were country roads and I was careful, trailed the brakes lightly cruising in 5th, did sympathetic stops from speed with pulsed braking all sorts. Some other brake manufacturers say "put them on and do 10 emergency stops from 60mph, brakes bedded in!" So I mixed it up trying not to overheat them. Once they were, they were everything you would imagine these to be, firm and a 'little bit' bitey. They bloody work though, I did at least 10 miles at full on "race pace" and the speed you can travel from A-B... braking late and hard and rolling off them towards the apex is awesome. I didn't know what I was missing till I fitted them! I am looking forward to the rears arriving.

I know that recently we have seen that you don't have to forge an engine straight away, you can put a lot of power through a stock one but at some point you will kill it, and you will start eating clutches. Whatever Noz 'could' turn it up to will be limited by reliability. But from what I have read if I had "half a thousand horsepower" I would be a happy man kbowing it will probably be fast every day for 40 000 miles.

500 at the engine, 460 at the wheels. But I bet there is 100 hp band where it could sit depending on how safe you want it to be. Whatever the numbers, it will be rapid.
