  1. Yeah sounds good to me. Roads around the area are decent early morning. Let’s see what the others are up for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. They need to open up a UK branch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yep let’s do it! Where are you based? Let’s see who else is out there and sort something for when things cool off and the weather warms up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] bloody hope so, I was poking down there for ages trying everything (naughty jokes inbound!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Great, thanks for this. Let me try finding it again and I’ll see what happens [emoji1417] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yeah basically! First time removing the door card and it was all going so well until then [emoji24]. Bought one of those bendy long magnets but it didn’t fit down there sadly. Do you know if Nissan dealers would be able to source things like this?
  7. Oh wow didn’t realise that! I grew up in Lewes and moved to Hove 4 years ago. Definitely meet up sometime when all this madness is over [emoji1417] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Morning all, when removing the interior door card to my drivers door, I dropped the screw which affixes the top interior door trim panel to the door. My car is a 93 model so seatbelt is not on the door. See attached pictures of the panel I’m referring to and one also of the passenger door with the screw still there. I’m aware you can probably source these screws from CZP or Z1 but does anyone know the spec of the screw at all? So I could maybe source it in the uk somewhere. Thanks! 9. Congratulations guys![emoji2][emoji276] hope you had a great day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Mine got splattered in the usual Brighton and Hove seagull sh*t so I gave her a good wash yesterday and applied another coat of wax. All external mouldings retreated as they started to get a bit dry. Afterwards when the weather made its mind up about not raining, I went out for a motorway blast to run in the new clutch and flywheel. The clutch is getting better by the journey. Done about 200 miles now since install last Monday. A few pics of her all cleaned up... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I was going to say has the bonnet been resprayed as it sounds like your detailing process is bang on. The rest of your bodywork looks great so it only really points to that. If the paint on the bonnet is that thick, it could be saved with a professional wet sanding etc and deep repolishing but to be honest, I’d only go that route if you can do it yourself. If you pay someone else to do it, you might as well respray the bonnet. I get charged approx £150 per panel for small respray jobs so probably better going the respray route. 12. Well polishes are a very light abrasive to take off the naff top layer of paint which has been scratched over time or sun damaged in your case. The wax should be applied following the polish treatment as Gaz300 has said, as this will seal the paint against the suns UV rays damage - two coats would be good. The best product however from what I’ve heard (not personally used) is ceramic coating which is harder and more durable than wax. That should hopefully protect your red paint. Wax is cheaper, easily sourced and to be honest, it’s done the job for me for about a decade so don’t be worried about ‘only’ forking out for wax. I’m not too clued up on red paints but that should hopefully do the trick for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah am glad it went now to be honest, rather than when I’m on a long journey or something - it was playing on my mind how long it would last. Haha minty clean it is! Got another compliment last night at the shell garage from the till guy. It gets so much positive attention it’s quite entertaining. Went on a long motorway run today for the running in of the clutch and the lightened flywheel makes the car absolutely fly from 80-100 (kph of course!). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Photos of the old exedy clutch removed from the car, that’s 11 years old! Was worried about the 25 minute journey to the garage but thankfully it didn’t slip badly and made it there in one peace. Clutch did absolutely stink though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. New Rps/specialty Z clutch and flywheel fitted yesterday! Clutch was so grabby on the first journey as it was new but now I’ve done about 90 miles, it has gotten smooth. I’m gonna let it run in by continuing to do long motorway journeys over the next couple days, with a target of around 200 miles on the clutch before my heavy right foot gets unchained again [emoji23]. The lightened flywheel has made a huge difference in throttle response - the Rev counter just flies when you touch the pedal now, it’s fantastic. The owner of the garage (Jap Performance Parts, Crawley) commented on how clean the car was as well [emoji2], and how rare it is to see a zed in good nick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah I get what you mean completely, that’s why I originally wanted to do all the works in one go. I think I’ll wait to hear something firm about work loads from the client that we work with most, hopefully over the next week or so. I’ll then be able to make a call on what to do or not. 17. Lots of love for this; the 240z style rear end plus twin turbo engine [emoji7] The 350z/370z were always such disappointments for me, with no turbos, almost a step backwards compared to the 90’s jap cars. I do appreciate they were going for the back to basics early Z car NA power train way of thinking, but still... anyhoo this should be promising and finally another attainable jap car to rival the same old same old Germans. 18. Both me and phutumsch had FedEx deliveries from Concept z really quick and well before the delivery due date over these past few weeks. Had mine delivered Tuesday this week. Took 5 days longer to get a Royal Mail delivery from Northampton to Brighton ffs [emoji1787]. Looking good and good luck with the works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Those nearest and dearest to me are telling me to put the major works for the car on hold, due to the current state of the economy. My employer has put me as a key worker thankfully so the last couple years slaving away have been worth something! I'll be going back full time from the end of furlough and our clients are picking up work now so seems positive. The total of the works were amounting to around £7k so it is a valid point to maybe hold off until the end of the year. Works as a summary were to do; - full respray including new 99 spec front bumper which I bought already. Cut out rust from outer sills and weld in new metal - new front/rear windscreen seals/mouldings and roof mouldings. New targa and a pillar weather rubbers - strip chassis and new underseal - full 120k mile service and sort minor engine oil leak - doesn't drip onto driveway and can't notice any reduction in oil on dipstick so not bad If I put off the works, I'll buy that Rustbuster kit so I can get the sills rust converted to solid metal and encapsulated in the epoxy magic stuff that this kit contains. I'll finish off with some paint. At least that'll encapsulate the rusted area to stop it getting worse, and keep it going until next year when I'll carry out the work. Hmmmm decisions decisions. ? I'll have a good think over the next week and update the thread once I've made up my mind.
  20. Thanks Lee ? I've heard nothing but good things about the kit so looking forward to having a set up that can handle the power and my driving! My old clutch used to have an embarrassing rattle around 1300-1500 or so rpm when pulling away unless you over revved it, so that's the bit I'm most looking forward to getting rid of!
  21. Andrew, thanks a lot for this - much appreciated. Definitely will save me some pain by sending this to garage to read through before they do the work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks for the info both and yeah I guess it’s just pot luck. Will deffo try asking the supplier to underreport the value though! Hopefully they’ll be ok with that. Couple of pics of the clutch and flywheel below. Can’t wait to get it in and start driving again in this lovely weather! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My order is turning up today now so 3 days early! Input duty got me though yesterday, to the tune of £43.32. Its not too bad and I got away with it on the last order so all good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That’s great news and cheers for the update. Mine is FedEx too so hopefully will be similarly quick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. He just replied to me saying the clutch was in fine condition back then (2018) so they left it in. This is good news as if it was a new clutch in 2018 and already gone, then there would probs be another underlying problem. Parts arriving next Friday 29th and car booked in at a jap car specialist the following Monday 1st, so all good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
