Ex Sultan Of Brunei 14k Mile 300ZX
As per title, a UK spec 14k mike TT Auto previously owned by the Sultan of Brunei is going up for auction this month - see link: https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2021-11-27/cars/ref-44-1990-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-sb/ This has been at PowerZed and Dream Body Works this year by the current UK owner, to bring it up to mint condition. Estimated price range £24-£29,000. Lets see how high she goes... @AndrewG the advert lists the Vin number so you can add to the database. Thanks to Aff68 for sending me the link to this beauty.

5) Ah hello Irony...
New paintwork looks beautiful ?, brings the front end up to the standard of the rest of the car. Such a shame about that damage, what bad timing! At least it’s being covered by the company and fast tracked too, rather than the usual insurance claim which can drag out. Look forward to the NEC photos.

I've added a lot to the stack and Ollie did as well to be fair. Good to hear the C63 is getting taken care of. That 6.2 engine is one of the best of my generation - if I could afford the fuel, I'd have one as a daily! Time will tell, but I reckon once you've seen this Zed after the respray and once I'm done with the interior, you'll get the Zed bug again! ?.

It's 8cm thick! Never thought I'd be measuring paperwork haha. ? It's one of the big factors in me choosing to buy this Zed. Each UK owner also wrote a summary of the service history with dates, mileage etc. as below photo (1st UK owner page 1 summary). The second UK owner - Dazsw who's posted above, started adding who did the work, which I liked and have continued on my own summary doc.

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Hate to bring up such an old post, but I couldn't agree more. I've been following bits and pieces of this thread and now I'm nearing my build, have started properly reading through. As I begun reading from the beginning, I couldn't help but think what a fantastic guide this is, as per Joel's comments. I'm also going for the small turbo (GT525) response and linear power route. This is the most concise engine build thread I've seen and provides invaluable real world experience for a novice like me, to areas like the fuel system and head e.g. the OE belt stretch, cam gear failures, which I would never have found elsewhere. I've already recommended the journal to another member! Thank you for continuing to post updates and wish you luck sorting the recent issues.

Cheers for the info mate and yes you’re right as I do remember seeing some cruise control repair invoices in the stack of paperwork. Not too fussed because as I say I’ve never used the cruise control, but would be nice to know it works. Researched it and it can be lots of little things like switches on brake pedals etc. Will sort it at some point. The service history got too much for that orange folder so I migrated it to a new folder! That folders been in service for a good decade I bet - I’m assuming you must have bought that. Put each bit of paperwork into a nice a4 pocket file to preserve it all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New to this forum - resurrecting a rotten Z32 TT UK car
If I was looking for a daily driver and it was stated the car was almost ready for an MOT, I’d run a mile. This ones an ongoing project though and the value is in it being a stock UK TT manual, although I don’t value UK specs higher than our Jap specs, most others do. Someone experienced enough to complete this project, will probably be in a good place to check out the whole car and negotiate a fair price, considering the likely work a car of this age needs, especially one that’s been sat for a few years unused. Also Blue FTW! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Following the replacement of all the suspension bushes last Oct/Nov, the BC Coilovers seemed a touch too harsh and their shock absorption was not as good as when I had the old bushes. This was due to the slack in the old worn bushes now having been removed with the new ones. The coilovers have adjustable top mounts for adjusting softness/hardness etc. I trialled a load of combinations a few months ago, and found turning them down one notch on all four corners sorted the ride out. I think this adjustment and the fact the bushes have worn in a bit, since I've done a fair amount of miles this year, has now provided a nice compliant ride. Another bonus of the above is when I fitted the 10mm spacers on the front to clear the Akebono's, the car would rub the arch liners sometimes (say once every two journey's), as mentioned earlier in this thread. Now they only mildly rub on crater like dips in the road - so not often. I can live with that so happy with the end result ?.

Been meaning to test the cruise control every time I go out in her, but keep forgetting. Managed to test it this morning and not working unfortunately. First time I've tried it in this car, so not even sure if it was working before the Link ecu went in or not. The cruise control light illuminates and the second cruise control light flashes but nothing happens. This was at dual carriageway speeds around 70 and above. Will try and test again when roads are empty as it was a bit difficult due to amount of cars on the road.

The start of the manual conversion
Yes definitely as the 2nd hand kit will have an old used gearbox of unknown condition. My car had a manual conversion around 2010 and the previous owner bought her in 2017 - soon after purchase he replaced the gearbox due to crunching in the common 3rd or 5th I think it was. Good to buy these new OEM parts whilst they're still available and in the grand scheme of things, for such an important component, it's well worth it. Anyway keep us updated as you progress ?

The start of the manual conversion
Good decision - stronger synchros on those. Previous owner thankfully did it to mine and there’s nothing like having a silky smooth shifter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rear end
Strangely in photos your diffuser doesn't look the best, but I've seen your car at Jimmers a few times and it looks absolutely fine - not garish like Veilside kits etc. Go with whatever your gut tells you!? I reckon your spoiler and diffuser wouldn't work so well on a light coloured car but works on a black one just fine.

New steering wheel....!!
I have indeed! Set up an account almost a decade ago for my older brother (called Naz), when he was looking for another Zed. He ended up getting a more sensible daily driver! I went to sign up last year when I bought my Zed and saw the naz27 account was still active so went with it, with the intention of changing my profile name - a year and a half later, I've finally got round to it!! That's great to hear they've done a good job this time; another good supplier to add to the list. They do some unique bits I'm interested in. Your interior is absolutely mint BTW. I've been after those red 'Z' emblems for ages but Z Spec have stopped making them ☹️.

New steering wheel....!!
There’s nothing like a new or freshly trimmed steering wheel - love the feel. Had a previous cars steering wheel thickened and retrimmed as it was too skinny and it made such a difference. On the subject of Interior Innovations, how were they like to deal with? how were lead in times? When it comes time for my interior retrim later down the line, I was interested in getting their seat foam replacements, so just wondering what they’re like to deal with. Yeah is a real shame but ah well. Back in 2013 it would have been 20 years old - considering the perfect number is 175 psi, for a 20 year old car, that's pretty dam good I guess. Yep at least it'll be in safe hands with Jim so can relax. I'm looking at all the parts options now; I want response and reliability so thinking Z1 GT525's and CP Pistons/Rods seem to be best quality. Teaching myself as I go though so will wait and see what Jim advises. I won't ever sell this Zed, so knowing the engine is solid will be a peace of mind TBH.

1995 Silver Series IV Slicktop Version S - Taking To Another Level
Looking nice and clean ?. You're not the only one who notices! Mine are all faded and cracked to pieces; bought a set which will be fitted soon. I found Bosch Aeroblade wipers from Halfrauds to be absolutely fantastic and perfect fitment.

Glad you’ve enjoyed the journey and thanks mate, appreciate it [emoji846]. Good question! I’ve never used cruise control in any of my cars so not sure, but the next time I drive it, I shall let you know. In theory it should do, because as you say it’s got its own ecu and the link is known to be a drop in solution, retaining the factory features. Anyway, I’ll update you once I’ve tried it. Thanks mate [emoji1417]. Over 600bhp sounds nuts - will be so much fun to drive. Hope the mapping goes well and let me know how the traction control feels once set up. Hope you got some decent rear tyres to cope with all that extra power! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cheers mate ? You can actually see where you're driving at night with these, day and night difference to the original headlights!

Thanks mate and hopefully so, can’t wait until it’s finished! [emoji3]. I’ll definitely continue this thread with updates of the build and respray as we progress. I haven’t had traction control enabled no, but Greg has quoted for it, launch control and a host of other features for when the rebuild is done. I’ll probably get it enabled to see how it feels. Yours was at Jimmers over summer wasn’t it? Black SWB almost 600hp? If it was, then you have a lovely Zed sir. You should start a thread, never too late - be interested to see what you did with yours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
