  1. All it had on the back was the AMG badge and "230". I didn't get a good look at the front of it - seemed quick though... ;)
  2. Not sure I've seen one of these before - not very sporty looking but it had a fair bit of grunt! He started in front of me as we came off the M25 onto the A22 towards Croydon. Stopped at the lights on the roandabout then off we went - road goes into two lanes and turns into dual carriageway! I indicate to overtake him and as I do he indicates and cuts me up! Then it's foot to the floor in second and third and I'm right behind him, change up to fourth and he finally relents and pulls in to let me pass (approx 110). Didn't see him again... :D :D :D ;) Another kill for the Zed community... Cheerz Steve PS. Also did an Audi TT tonight but not really worth mentioning... ;)
  3. I've mounted mine above the rear view mirror, but to save the mess of wiring, I've simply soldered it directly into the courtesy light circuit (standard 12V). This way, it's got better reception, it's more visible to you (the driver) and it's less noticable to thieves who might want to nick it! It's a quick and painless job. Be aware however, that this circuit is live all the time so you need to switch the detector on and off manually... ;) Cheerz Steve
  4. I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning! Cheerz though fellas! Steve
  5. Cheers Stuart! I've had a look under the wheel arch and the dent is a little too high to be accessible from under there. Take a look at http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/429/Rear_wing.jpg I think that I'm going in through the boot! Not sure how to go about it though.... Any thoughts? Cheerz Steve
  6. Just got the Z back from SE yesterday and it's running great. New ICE fitted and working well - life couldn't be much better! Then... Backing out of the garage today and I've caught a dustbin (left out by my neighbour!) between the rear wing and the wall of the house! No major damage to the paint, but I now have a visible indent in the rear wing above the rear wheel arch!   Anyone know how I can get "inside" the rear wing to pop it out again. I assume that I need to go through the boot to get to it... Any help appreciated! Cheerz Steve
  7. I've got a list of false signal frequencies somewhere and I might get round to reprogramming it soon! I'll let you know how I get on... Cheerz Steve (Soon to be banned thanks to his radar detector not working properly ;) :D )
  8. Years inside: 61 Potential Fine: £7000. No death penalty though! :D :D :D Steve
  9. Hi Trev I've got a Bel 550 and they will only alert you if the hand held trigger is pulled. Otherwise the gun isn't emitting any signal... I've been very happy with mine - good advance Gatso warning and it's saved me a couple of times from mobile speed traps. :D :D :D Have you bothered to disable any of the frequencies on yours? Some false signals (petrol station automatic doors etc..) can be a PITA. If you have done this maybe we could swap notes... Cheerz Steve
  10. Like Dan, I've been caught a few times by the boys in blue. It's not just the points and the £40 fine though. I got 3 points for doing 42 in a 30 zone in 2000 and this has added a total of almost £250 to my insurance premiums since. I appreciate the need for speed limits and I generally drive carefully and only open up on roads I know well. Let's face it, if you own a Z, it's hard not to... :D :D :D Cheerz Steve
  11. I've dug out my original Nissan invoice and the part number shown is N2659030P01. As I remember, this had to be ordered from Japan. Hope this helps! Cheerz Steve
  12. I bought a new titanium key with my Z in 1997 from a UK Nissan main dealer. The part number on the invoice is indeed KEY0000111 and it cost me £57 plus the VAT. Cheerz Steve
  13. Make that next Saturday LOL. Not really their fault - they've had to order a new arm for the front suspension and it won't be in till Tuesday... :( :( :( Cheerz Steve
  14. Blimey James - I went to school with your cousin (Purley Boys in Old Coulsdon)! Small world huh? I've worked for some of the Monty Python guys (John Cleese, Michael Palin (nice bloke!) and Eric Idle) Cheerz Steve
  15. Luke at the Z Centre supplies the service manual on CD in Adobe Acrobat format. See http://www.zcentre.co.uk/offer.shtml Cheerz Steve
  16. Hi Shahid and welcome! I live just up the road from Jock. Had my Z for over 6 years and I'm still looking for a good local Jap mechanic! I've been travelling up to SE Nissan (Essex) for the past couple of years and they've done good work for me to date. Some forum members have had problems with them but so far I've been happy! My Z is with them at the moment so I'll update you when I pick it up on Saturday... ;) Cheerz Steve
  17. Count me in too! :D :D :D
  18. That first one is a bunch of arse Nelson! :D :D :D
  19. Looks great! What company did the work for you? Cheerz Steve :D
  20. I'd personally go for a newer unmodded car. That way at least you know the history and (hopefully) that it hasn't been too badly thrashed... IMHO... Steve
  21. Got an e-mail from Nissan USA this morning with details and pics of next year's 350Z Roadster. I know that the 350 has had a mixed reception here, but interested to hear what people think of this flavour... http://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/FutureModelHomePage/0,3210,24842,00.html?Site=N04FUTE0303AAH00&Area=01&Creative=04 Be aware that the site requires Flash and can be painful on a slow connection... Red (my first Z) has got to be the colour to have! My current Z is grey and I'm not quite as happy with it as I was the first one... A little bit too understated :( Must agree with Markyb300 tho, his bayside blue respray looks the nuts! :D :D :D Cheerz Steve
  23. CheerZ fellas! Just playing the waiting game now until the product arrives... I'll be in touch! :D :D :D Steve
  24. I thought you must have - just checking though.. :D :D
  25. He he he... :D
