Titanium Key

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of the best place to get these? I did get one with the black Zed, but am looking for a spare.

Can you get full sets from Nissan if you quote them a specific number...and if so, where do you get this number? There's nothing written on the titanium key that I already have.

Looked on Ebay and Courtesy but nothing doing on there and I really don't want that NISMO thing....

Any idle-flears?

They are NLA, I think the last one that came up on eBay went for about £180 if I remember rightly.

You can get Nismo and GTR versions but not the 300zx.

NLA?

Oh! No longer Available...

I got one for the red Zed from Ebay at a cost of £25 but that was about 4 years ago...

The NISMO one is bug-ugly and wouldn't have that on my keyring if I was paid to! :D

In titanium, £45+VAT.

Picture? Uhm....no I don't as it happens...sorry. Am sure someone who's near to their keys and a digital camera can assist there, though.

Suffice it to say that they have 300ZX written down the side. :)

Yep, just reread Anita's first posting.

I got the wrong end of the stick, yes, Black and Red keys are still available from Nissan and I believe there are some in the UK warehouse but the Titanium key is no longer available. Make sure you get the black key as your main one as the red is a valet and will not open the glovebox.

Cheers Ajay, XTT :)

Hmm... contradictory advice from different main dealers then; wot a surprise :) ;)

I bought another black plastic version of the key a year or two back and I don't think it cost more then £20 so they must be offering you something special for £45. Does seem strange that they're less than a third what they used to be though

Would you mind re-posting when it arrives Ajay ?

If it's as advertised I'd love a couple myself !

Cheers !

Well, I did specify the titanium ones and he agreed - even knew which car I was talking about, which makes a change.

I'll see what happens after the weekend when I can gather all this stuff and go in and order them

As a rule I dont use the main dealer as they are way tooo expensive, and Mike Feeny can beat em every time. But I bought a black key blank from Mike. Took the blank and the original but very worn titanium to the main dealer. For the sum of 5 whole pounds they looked at the titm key, worked out what the sequence was: cut me a key on a micra blank for me to check it worked; then when I confirmed it was OK cut the black key for me. All for only 5 pounds. I was amazed.

They couldnt get hold of titm keys though.

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

As opposed to Mr Duff who has only just realised the difference between Iron Oxide and sheet steel! ;)

For a white 300zx to become iron oxide, three things are required: a white 300zx, water and oxygen. Here's what happens when the three get together:

When a drop of water hits a white 300zx, two things begin to happen almost immediately. First, the water, a good electrolyte, combines with carbon dioxide in the air to form a weak carbonic acid, an even better electrolyte. As the acid is formed and the 300zx dissolved, some of the water will begin to break down into its component pieces -- hydrogen and oxygen. The free oxygen and dissolved 300zx bond into iron oxide, in the process freeing electrons. The electrons liberated from the anode portion of the 300zx flow to the cathode, which may be a piece of a metal less electrically reactive than a 300zx, or another point on the piece of 300zx itself.

I haven't ordered one yet, Mac - I don't have anything that's required with me up here unfortunately. :)

First chance I get to gather the stuff will be next weekend so I'll go in afterwards. :)
