  9. need to keep your head up Mate... theres always light at the end of the tunnel for grafters.. Me and my missus just went to the local uni and hard a look at what was available. i did a hnd in IT and my wife the courses for nursing / paramedics. went from managing bars to pre sales support in telecoms. missus is now looking at volunteer work with St Johns as that will get her a job later. Now looking to study spanish with the kids on these family courses. My advice is have a look what out there and see whats available. Also network, get to know people in areas you would want to work. I think a lot of people on here will agree, they will always look to employ a grafter. Keep your head up though and keep applying, accept the knock backs, ask for feedback and alter your methods.. sorry if Im stating the obvious but also hope some of this helps?
  10. Feel for you buddy, system helps the wrong uns as you say, but the workers at the coal face do know who they can help.. my wife is in a similar position, we have kids and I earn a decent wage still. so we get no help at all. which should be the case ( I moan cos my taxes pay the 36K you talk about.. lol..) However she would love to go back to work full time. she was lucky to get a job working for the council part time. However now struggling to get out of the cycle you are talking about. therefore she been studying on an evening to be a para medic. its all in your own time and your own funds. which again you dont mind it you thought if I stayed at home it would be free.. In September though she now has to attend Uni full time.. so has to give up the job completely and we dont know if we can afford it.. no help at all for someone who wants to get on in life and be a help to society.. Probably sound like your Dad here but if you are young, nokids and can squeeze the time in, could look at some part time training/courses or voluntary work to get out of the cycle.. or do what my mate did, go to Australia and drive a bus...lol...

im easy.. so happy to work around Paul...
  12. Thats what they say... Missus works for the job centre and they never get the benefit stopped. they are so overworked they dont get chance to check if they have been looking for work. its sign them get them out.. Government advertised positions and asked jobseekers to apply. they wouldnt cos the money wasnt high enough, it wasnt worth them working.. My wife would love to work full time but we would lose money taking child care costs into account.. If they are short they can apply for a crisis loan, interest free paid back a £1 a week or so.. half the time they complain cos they complain they wont eat asdas own beans etc... in the centre they can tell the genuine people but the are honestly few and far between, when they get a genuine person in they go out of there way to help them.. but the majority honestly do not want to work and feel they are entitled to it.. They have had good increases in their job seekers, but the office workers havent had a rise in 3 years.. The amount of times my missus has been threatened because she wouldnt give a crisis loan for a new pair of trainers and on one occasion a new car becaus ethey felt they should have one on job seekers is ridiculous... when they do get the loan, 9 times out 10 they go stright over the road into the pub and spend it.. I listen to tales almost every night and it boils my piss... you dont work you dont feckin eat....
  13. ive probably got the bits here.. come down and well do it........ wont take long...
