  3. Would I be correct in thinking I would use a tt pulley on a n/a pump........or is there no difference between the pulleys?.

  5. Not sure if it helps but as a rule knock sensors are torque sensitive........on v6 vauxhall engines the torque setting for the knock sensor bolt has to be spot-on and the mounting face really clean otherwise it can throw up a fault code.just an idea :) Doesnt the knock sensor on a vg usually live under the lower plenum?........if its relocated doe it still function as it should?, as a knock sensor is essentially a microphone that 'listens' for a certain frequency (the knock), and if moved will it still pick that up as the knock sensor is designed to pick up the frequency through a cast iron block as opposed to an aluminium plenum (looks as though it on the plenum in the pic).surely its too isolated from the block itself (by the heads/plenum) to function effectively???

  7. I would have to agree there.........i'll stick with my jdm alarm stickers :)
  8. +1 matey, never had a problem with them even with jdm zeds.........they dont nat an eyelid.Usually go in armed with part numbers off nissanpartszone.com :)
  9. With my injectors from Canada I was hit with £33 import duty, but thats the only time ive had to pay import duty on anything ive ordered from abroad.
  10. Without checking the invoice I think it was about $35 :)
  11. I like that low down shot in the gorge......looks very good :)
  12. Sou That sounds like it might be a hoot! (copyright C M Burns) :)
  13. Doesnt look too bad....and its the best colour.depends on how much needs doing to the bodywork as these cars can rust quite bad if neglected. The running on 5 issue could be as simple as a sparkplug or coilpack connector.....could be as bad as no compression on one cylinder. If you where interested in it there may be a member local to you that would view it with you, or get the seller to send some detailed pics of the sills, bottom rear quarters, wheel arches etc etc to get an idea of what the bodywork is like.could be a nice project if you got it at a good price :)
  14. My understanding is the op is using just the engine, not swapping a manual box for an auto.......i think he has got an autobox attached to the back of the engine he is going to fit and the manual box is already in the car so to speak.
  15. ^^^^ Dont forget to remove your intake/intercooler hoses off the allow for the engine tilting back :)
  16. Bloody hell Jeff...that looks awful.Hope normality soon returns mate :) Left Telford this morning to go to the unit in Shrewsbury in a thunderstorm with torrential rain......got 7 mile down the A5 and the sun was out!!!, this weathers bloody weird! :(
  17. Proud days mate :)...........took my daughter to her prom in my DTM Edition Calibra and everyone said how cool it was! :).Kids grow so fast these days, my daughters 19 in October and cant work out where the years have gone!!!. Sneaky Cally pic :)
  18. Thats exactly what I thought Jeff.
  19. There was a post the other day from a member in scotland that said their zed was flooded.....cant remember their name though.
  20. Definately honing marks........ive recently got a spare engine to rebuild and no.6 is the same as yours but not as bad, just a bit on one side but enough to drop compression on that cylinder.
  21. Mine smoked like hell on idle with castrol edge 5w40 in it (only in 1200 miles :( ) but didnt smoke any other time. Iirc smoke on de-cell can be a sign of turbo seal failure or possibly rings.Tonym's smokes on decell and a compression test revealed low compression on no.6 cylinder.
  22. No problem mate.........plenum,water pipes etc considered ,give me a shout :) Well.......bit of an update on the plenum situation. My uprated injectors arrived from Canada last Friday and turned out they are series2 injectors!.....so was faced with the prospect of finding a series2 lower plenum, fuel rail and injector connectors. Then I remembered that Z1 Motorsport in the States do conversion kits to put series2 injectors into a series1 fuel rail so said sod it and ordered one, which arrived today so back on track now........just need to get time to fit everything :)
  23. Who the crocodile hat is Darth Fader!!!???................obviously the Force isnt with him! :)
  24. On Monday afternoon at around 1pm i placed an order with Z1 Motorsport (Georgia, USA) for a set of series 2 to series 1 injector adaptors, with delivery by Fedex...... Well they have just arrived at 7:56am this morning!!! :) How is it that an item from halfway round the world can get here in that time.......but post something here and it takes an age to arrive??? Well done Z1 and Fedex! :)
