I need to defragment my laptop and have read this: Ensure that your disk has at least 15% free space A volume must have at least 15% free space for Disk Defragmenter to completely and adequately defragment it. Disk Defragmenter uses this space as a sorting area for file fragments. If a volume has less than 15% free space, Disk Defragmenter will only partially defragment it. To increase the free space on a volume, delete unneeded files or move them to another disk. my laptop now only has 7% free space :( and I have average knowlege about computers but I need to know how the best way to clear some of these files and whether or not they are important?? or do I just need a external hard drive to stick it all on and which are the best but cheapest and how do I go about sticking the files on it? The value of scrap has gone up now as China is buying as much as they can get hold of, so most scrap car merchants will pick it up and get rid of it for free. That way you have got rid of it. HTH

You can just use a grey blocker paint spray available from most motor spares shops. It basically applies a thick smooth paint covering all the imperfections, then just spray over with a plasticote spray once smooth. HTH
