pipe work question
To be honest, I probably can't help. But if you're asking is "will the pipe with 2.5" diameter holes at both ends, fit onto the turbo with a silicone joiner?" Then I presume the answer is yes, because if you zoom into your first pic, the silicone joiner is smaller around the turbo outlet than it is around the hardpipe. Therefore acting as an expander.

Body advice
The reason I asked the original question was because I had found a jap lwb tt for sale at an auction. I went to view it on Friday and bearing in mind the auctioneers wrote no description in the brochure, when I checked the paperwork, I was amazed. Imported in 2001, then a xenon bodykit and pearlescent purple respray (not really my thing, but not bad when in front of you). Then a couple of years later a fully forged rebuilt with pretty much all parts imported from stillen, including 500 turbos, then a custom leather and suede interior still in good condition. It did have someone body issues as per the initial post, but other than that I try looked like it just needed a clean and a service. Now unfortunately for me, you cannot postpone an auction. So when the time came I limited myself to £2200, the car sold for £2300!! Gutted, I have been kicking myself since, even the missus was saying I should have bid higher. Never mind, I have a Jap tt lwb with fairly major body issues, that I planned on repairing, but the more I look the more rust I find. So keeping an eye out for something to build a good car out of what I can from mine. Still gutted. :(

Any tips on the best place to check the sills with skirts fitted. I know you can look down inside the rear quarter panel. How would the mot guys know, from underneath?

Body advice
Hi guys, just been and viewed another 300, I have fairly good knowledge of the cars, the turrets, floor and boot look to be solid. There is quite a bad patch of rust above the windscreen, how difficult can this be to repair? I presume the windscreen would have to come out? The car has sideskirts and from what I can see the rear sills seem OK, however there is some bubbling at the front of the sills inside where the door shuts. Sort of on the top of the sill and below the hinges. Is this common, I haven't heard of it rusting here. At the back, yes, but not the front. I know it's not a lot of information, but I don't have any more, any help would be appreciated, even if it's vague. Thanks

Misfire 300zx tt
Next try injectors, put a long screwdriver on the top of each and your ear on the other end of the screwdriver. Should hear them "clicking" and should all sound the same

Headlight internal
Hi, does anyone have a damaged passenger side headlight? I have opened mine up to refurbish and managed to snap the corner off of the reflector. Also one of the splined cogs was broken. So if anyone has these two parts it would be very helpful ;) thanks

I agree. But I need a solid shell and it could be cheap. My car has serious rust issues and my interior needs redoing due to leaks. This could solve my problems.

Help with Boot
Or that the lock mechanism has seized. Mine did exactly the same as yours. I took the lock barrel out, stripped it down, soaked in wd40. Put it back together with a bit of grease and it still works perfect two years later. There is a guide somewhere to stripping down the barrel, not on here I don't think. But don't remember it being too difficult. Good luck http://www.twinturbo.info/63104/13202.html First time I've tried pasting a link.......

How low can you go?
Mate, this is truly incredible. I am just starting on mine and feeling a bit apprehensive, but seeing this makes me realise that my job is not as big as it feels. Honestly though, this is awesome and you have my total respect. Keep it up and keep updating. Best build thread I've seen in ages!

Thanks mate, I've just been reading on the st owners site (sorry). Apparently ford never did a pearl white, its called frozen white or ice white (changed the name on a facelift) and the blue effect is some kind of pigment in the clear coat. Does this sound correct to anyone?

Restoration
OK guys, I've been away for some time now (although always lurking in the background), but at last I am back :) Some of you may know the last time I was on here, I was planning a full restoration of my j-spec lwb auto TT. Well due to a practically non-existent budget and busy lifestyle its took me all year to finish building a 26'x12' shed, solely for the Z. Started the car yesterday evening for the first time since November 2013!! Would you believe she started on the first turn of the key (after circulating oil and building pressure), although with a hunting idle and burst brake line somewhere. As said this is a full restoration, including, Major bodywork renovation, Respray, Engine out for deletes, service etc Engine bay respray, Auto to manual conversion, Interior retrim. I plan on doing all the work myself except possibly the retrim, and will post as many pictures as possible. The main thing I would ask from you guys is for your advice. I am capable of all the work, however, I do need a lot of advice. My main worry at the moment is the best order of work and paint. I think doing all the bodywork first is correct and if so I need to know what kind of paint to use, and therefore what primer I need to use. Googling this has just left me confused. I like the idea of painting it the ford focus white, that has the hint of blue. But I think this is a pearlescent, and above what I am capable of spraying. Can anyone help so far??? Thanks
