  1. Just goes to show, you should never stand square on. Pill*ck!
  2. Personally, I would go for new O rings mate. Sounds like yours have collapsed. Worth it in the long run.
  3. And the break callipers?
  4. I take it that you have the radio in the on position. I think that the live to the aerial runs in conjunction with the live on/off switch of the radio etc'
  5. Thanks Jeff, With that said, I decided to just do a light re work of the fins and give them a good flush out internally and then re fitted. Once I had started mind, I did not know where to stop. I ended up taking most of the front end off, so much to clean.
  6. This link may be of help mate. http://z32.wikispaces.com/Factory+Service+Manual
  7. From my understanding, water injection kits allow you to run high boost level. In excess of 20 psi I think. Basically I believe it keeps detonation at bay and therefore protects the inner components from letting go. Also, I think it is only effective at high boost as apposed to the entire range so not that effective during everyday driving.
  8. Well done that man! You must be chuffed to bits mate. Bring on the vid'
  9. Thanks guys! I appreciate the replies. Reluctantly, I have left her on the drive with the cover on. I just hope I do not get any more lit cigarette ends flicked on her! I have attached some photos of the inter coolers as they came off, would they affect performance by much with this damage?
  10. Decided to take both inter coolers off today as they are quite corroded and battered with road debris etc, My question is, will she run OK? enough for me to put her back in the garage with them still off? Not likely to do any harm am I? I will put some before and after photos up later. While I have the front end off, is there any particular points of interest that anyone would like photos of? Thanks in advance.
  11. No matter what I try, I can not get the heater to run cold! No matter where I put the heater control dial, it still blows hot. So far I have changed the control valve (new) and the control panel complete with a different circuit board but still no joy. No matter where I place the dial, I still get 12 volts at the valve and the valve is held open. I know it's not a zed, it's just a run around for my wife, but can anyone shed some light please. To add, my wife is partially disabled and due to her medication, she constantly suffers from high temperatures. The last she needs is the heater stuck on hot. Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers, Dave.
  12. That's Zeds for you. But when they are sorted, WooHoo they're brilliant mate! I say give it another go, you wont regret it. That way you will be able to pi@@ all over the afore mentioned motors, lol
  13. Some beautiful cars on show there Richard, particularly like the E types.
  14. Hope you have a good one.
  15. Great write up Vodkashots. I will find this very useful when I remove my gearbox. Hopefully over the winter months. You will probably find your in-box littered with additional questions when I inevitably get stuck. lol
  16. Good idea Steams. That way I will be able to suss out any special tools I may want, er may need. As for my gearbox, It's a bit of both really, mainly stubourn to go into gear but sometimes with a slight crunch.
  17. It's the large grey connector. As for conzult, this shows you the timing value that the ECU is looking for, not the actual timing itself. This needs to be set via the crank with a strobe so as to correspond with conzult. You need to make sure that the engine temperature is up to normal running temp also as the ECU only looks for 15 deg' at this point. Is it a manual or auto by the way?
  18. I will probably end up the same way with regards to the re spray mate! As for the gear box? There is a part of me that says have a go! It will probably end in tears mind. I would just like to have a smooth and quick box for hose posey moments, instead of making myself look a tw@t. lol
  19. Nice one! That's where I hope to be with mine soon. Even contemplating attempting a DIY re spray. As for the gearbox, mine bulks in most gears! Pain in the a@se!! Would love to tackle it myself.
  20. Very true Steams. Things seem a little less daunting at the moment. Who knows what I may get up to over the winter. lol
  21. Cheers! The more I do on the zed, the more confident I feel about tackling bigger jobs. Who knows what's next! lol
  22. Eureka! Finally fitted new hoses ( cheers mr F ) and re assembled everything. Fired her up and no leaks! Better still, looks like we still may have a couple of dry days still to come! Bring it on!!
  23. Niiiiice! added to shopping list!
  24. Sounds intriguing znut. Any photo's?
