  1. Took the crank out of my spare block What do you think to the condition of the bearings? All original part numbers can still be seen clearly also can't feel or see any scoring ect Main bearings
  2. Horsham developments are great at mapping nissan ecu's and can also fit nistune boards
  3. Ok so I'm looking to order my big end and main bottom end bearings but abit confused.com as which to order, Now on Z1 they say you need to specify which grade you need, and this will be stamped on each rod and the on the crankshaft, But what happens as I want to order some ACL race bearings and they don't ask which grade you need just wether you want normal size or over sized bearings? Also Z1 says the 2 middle main bearings have same part number but need to be placed in the correct place is it easily noticeable which one needs to go where or do they both look the same? Paul
  4. Yup they weigh a lot that's why I'd like to change them
  5. Yea I know cp use a small clearance and sometimes accur piston slap when cold, I just wanted to get the block sorted while I'm saving for parts, could email z1 and ask them what the clearance would need to be
  6. What aftermarket seats have you guys fitted in your zeds I'd like to change mine and keep the weight down I weighed my drivers electric seat at 5.3 stone (33kg) so would like to change them Pics up please
  7. The Americans are way ahead of us in building these engines they often get a lot more power out of most makes of engines than we do, The only risk of course would be cracking the thinner bores under extreme heat, but if its be done before why not try it, On another question before I get my block rebored if I'm fitting 1mm oversized pistons will the machine shop know how much to take off the bores or will I have to specify this, as I know different makes of pistons have different clearance/ tolerances?
  8. Not sure mate just thought I'd post what he told me, I believe there 93ron fuel is the same as our 98 fuel so should be same richness?
  9. That's right mark just stick to fitting a larger piston and the will increase as you want, I'd just forget about what the other guy said lol
  10. Hi I contacted coz at czp with exact same question, he said your better off changing to the new style injector as they cope with unleaded fuel better than the old style, he said the older style tend to fail a lot quicker due to the alcohol content in fuel, So just on a reliability front the newer style is slot better
  11. Yep I'm not saying you can't just saying cant be done with bigger bearings lol Yep bore width is the easiest way of doing it, and done by most when fitting larger pistons than standard
  12. The only + on stroking is increasing the displacement say if you made it to a 3.2 it would be ever so slightly less laggier when fitting bigger turbos as there would be more air to spool them up quicker
  13. Yea I did but what I'm saying is that's the only reason you would fit oversized bearings, If you fitted bigger bearings to a standard sized oem crank then when fitting the caps back to the crank and rods it's not gonna tighten as it sould as its designed for a certain sized bearing
  14. Generally you only grind the crank if you have spun a bearing and it's damaged the crank in the process, the engineers will tell you how much they've had to take off to get it smooth, then you fit over sized bearing to compensate for the ground crank putting you back to the thickness you started with, acl do .25 ect over size, The only way of stroking the engine is bigger pistons and using stroked crank n rods, You can lower the compression with either custom pistons or fitting a thicker Headgasket, this means you could run more boost safely on standard fuel But back to the original question no fitting over sized bearings will not stroke the engine
  15. That is the one I have looks decent decent fit aswell
  16. Anyone got a pic of an abflug type 2 front bumper?
  17. common carp are different to koi carps, koi's are a japanese imported fish, a 2ft koi (grade A) will go for a couple of hundred from a supplier,
  18. they are simlar but they are different, seen a few that look like it but none the exact same
  19. Its not a vadar you can see there different about the indicator part and the side vents are angled differently the vadar angles off above the indicators and mine was smooth,
  20. I've had a look for them there's similar ones but not found an exact copy of it
  21. Did you just replace it with a engine from a breaker Baz? I'll be fitting forge pistons n rods, full rebuild
  22. So I had a couple of hours spare so thought I'd strip my engine down ready for machineing, looks like it was apart not long before I bought the car, with new head gaskets new freeze plugs, 6 really good condition pistons n rods with new piston rings. I'm going to get the block rebored, skimmed and acid bathed next,
  23. Here's a section a bought Nearly completely fitted
  24. This is the company I used http://www.transporterhire.co.uk/thank-you.html
  25. I hired a transporter £96 for the day with250 mile allowance and each mile after that was just 9p
