  1. Just throw it in the freezer for half an hour! Disclaimer: this might make things worse :wack:
  2. The rear discs are far more of a problem since they incorporate the handbrake mechanism. This happens to be a shoes/drum assembly, so the chances of finding another car with all the correct dimensions are very slim I would think. It took me enough time to research to find the front discs :mac1:
  3. :headvswal :wack:
  4. Yes ditto! It's not heavy enough to be big ends gone. It's not the bloody viscous fan catching anything is it? :(
  5. If they replace the block that the stock gauge sender screw in, then yes that is indeed problem solved.
  6. The L/H in particular has a restrictor in the oil pressure switch housing. From memory is is drilled about 1.1mm diameter. Just poke a bit of MIG wire in there to clear anything. Whatever you do, don't drill it out any bigger, it is there to restrict oil flow to the turbo. In the event of turbo faliure this prevents all the oil being dumped to the turbo and running the rest of the engine at greatly reduced pressure. I.E. It's easier and cheaper to replace a couple of turbos than to rebuild a bottom end ;) HTH Rob.
  7. Damn! I did think this was a joke at first, waiting for the punchline kind of thing. RIP all.
  8. Don't the Americans get some serious power out of stock engines? 500++?? As long as there's no det you have a fighting chance really. Det will kill an aftermarket piston too, it might take 'a bit' longer than a stock piston but they're deffinately not det-proof ;)
  9. Doh, I knew that too from my old 1/10th electric RC car days...... :p
  10. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1086429&postcount=69
  11. PTU (power transister unit) is the likely culprit. It's not for the injectors, it's the ignition. CAS (crank angle sensor) is to do with the injectors. Go get a known good series 1 PTU, or even better a series 2.
  12. ........and how does that fit in a car? :wack: EDIT: LOL @ the slabs on the CD player :D
  13. Looks good Jimmy! Let us know what differences you get now eh?
  14. You ought to get that DA sander on his barlocks! :nono:
  15. Fook! 3 months! I'd better make contact and see if they have any in stock before I order one then.
  16. I'm actually looking at one of these. How long did it take to arrive? weeks? days? months? :duffer:
  17. The only thing is, these only just squeeze under 18" rims. I have some 17"s on the red car which I was going to try on just to have a look but there is no chance at all they will fit. I've even had to put 3mm spacers on because the caliper slightly fouled the wheel spokes. @ Alex, I think so yes. These discs are 30mm thick which is the same as the stock TT discs so I guess you would need TT calipers too. @ Jimmy.... Stage 1 was sourcing the discs, stage 2 was working out and making the mounting brackets, stage 3 was fitting them :D
  18. Is it your insurance that is paying out or his? I would have thought your insurance would have acted on your behalf and fought for you. I hate insurance and use them as little as I can. But it's sad to see when you REALLY need them they just dessert you. Gutted for you fella :( Rob.
  19. Bah! What about all the oil leaks on the drive and in the garage? :p
  20. Good God that's dangerous! Does that mean the engine has been out at some point?
  21. Mark, I honestly don't think I need them. I have the power to lock the fronts with ease at 50+++mph no trouble at all. The blue Endless pads that are fitted work amazingly well too. Does anybody else use Endless pads on here?
  22. ROFL you busted me there ;) No Joel, that comes free with a couple of 130+ ---> 70mph stops :D Thanks fella! Your's look very nice too may I add :D :duffer:
