  1. Well there is a lot of fibreglass (or is that polyrurethane these days?) Sorry I just qouted the first post I grabbed over the 'to or not to be' modded slant of the thread regardless of context There seemed to be a lot of anti-mod sentiment going on and that is anyones entitled opinion - I just wanted to say I was happy with the effect the bits of plastic had when I stuck them on my car..... hopefully not 'badly fitted' though
  2. As a total aside I started to promote the classic car show at Trentham (my other thread) yeah I thought there were a lack of events in the Midlands, but did ask the apprpriate REO if it was OK for me to post this event here. Hell they may even come along on the day  Looks like we have enough attending for a club stand too So some of us are making some efforts in the right direction it seems
  3. Personally I really don't care what others think of modded Zeds I am happy with mine the way I made it and it certainly gets some attention when i drive it around - which was suprsiing ly lacking before I modded it!!
  4. Yayyy there is a list starting.... come on get yer names down, you know you want too :thumbup1: List Updated 11/04/2013 dicky96 roobarb (now confirmed) mark300zx PaulR Blackpool-z32 SIlverline (is that a yes?) Onslow cyberbean (provisional but the blast up the M6 toll on a Sunday must be worth the effort - hell I may even come down to sutton coldfield and race.... erm I mean 'escort'...... you back lol) steve jones cheshire300zx dzx noz phutumsch I'll collect payment by Paypal - but won't order the passes until after the early May bank holiday. I will let show organisers know we are attending and want a club pitch though PM me for the paypal details. Nice thing with this day out, it's cheap, well attended and plenty at Trentham for 'significant others' and kids to do Paul, Mark - I never knew there were other members on here so near to me, do you two already know each other? Fancy a beer and pay dosh at the weekend?
  5. Hey Up Mark - I'm in Normacot! Not very far from you at all, yeah lets meet up
  6. Funny enough my next project is that complete good engine I bought off Noz I feel some shiny chrome bling moments coming on..... when I've got some more money together....
  7. Yeah it's my intention to get to JAE - prob only for the Sat an Sun though And of course the Trentham Gardens show and others The steering wheel I think I posted on here before - got it offa ebay £40 from some supplier in Bulgaria
  8. Not unless someone nicked me car lol I went up to Hanley SAturday daytime, but via vicky road Re the show: seems like we will have enough of us to get a club stand. OK I'll happily organise this: So it's £3.50 per car with driver and up to three passengers, I don't see any reason why we cant' have 350z or 370z or even some of the older Z cars for that matter, Easiest way is to start a list here (is this the right section of the forum?) plus PM me and I can collect the money via Paypal. I'll book us in and get all the passes after the first May bank holiday. Any banners or site promo material would have to be supplied by who ever normally does that sort of thing, of course Rich Pic: The 'Italian Gardens' at Trentham
  9. OK cool guys As I mentioned I am going anyway even if as an individual exhibitor If we can get six or more of us we can have a 'club' stand Six is not a lot to find is it?? Would look good with several Zeds together - there has been no Z presence at least for the last few years I believe, if at all, though a lot of 'modern' cars do attend for example Hyundai Coupe club which my friend is a member of, it's not all 'vintage' classics so we should fit in well I have no problems organising this as an 'official' meet and dealing with the show promoters..... as long as I am not stepping on anyone toes here - I've only been on here about five minutes after all lol. Rich
  10. Yeah I agree it was a bold move!! Thank heavens my Z is not a daily runabout and we don't havea 'brood' lol
  11. Hey cheers guys!! Yeah it's 'Velle' Leather Was all bespoke work done by a local retrimmers in Stoke On Trent. It was not cheap though - £1450, that also included tidying up a lot of the interior trim, for example fitting new vinyl on the targas and also the panels either side of the rear seats. I also got them to trim me a spare cover for the compartment behind the handbrake, in black leather, in case I fancy a change I could have got it all done cheaper by using a lower quality leather - it started off at £1200 and worked it's way up a bit because of my choice of materials - but I was only gonna do this once so.....
  12. Hi Guys I have mentioned this before (also chatted it with Jeff @ Zedworld last time we met as he is REO for midlands and he is happy for me to post this event here) They have this big classic car show every year in Trentham Gardens Stoke-On-Trent with around 1200 cars and 5000 visitors Date: 16 June 2013-16 June 2013 Times: 10.00am - 5.00pm Car Information: Twenty two super years at this great venue which offers over 1200 vehicle entries, 50 Club Stands, Autojumble and Trade - with the beautiful backdrop of the now fully refurbished Trentham Park and Italian Gardens. Over 5,000 visitors enjoy this great day out every year. Event Description: Set in the beautiful backdrop of the now fully refurbished Trentham Park and Italian Gardens. Location: Trentham Gardens on A34 near Stoke Area: Staffordshire Region: North West Postcode:ST4 8AX I had a quick chat today with the show organisers - they would be happy for any of our Zeds to attend  And it is cheap! Entry is £3.50 per car for driver and up to three passengers (it costs you far more than that just to visit Trentham Gardens normally!) This gives full access to Trentham Gardens which is actually quite a nice place for a family day out! http://www.trentham.co.uk/trentham-gardens If any wives and gf's who wan't to go out into the 'craft village' they can get a pass out We could either book in individual passes - I will be going anyway - or if we want a group stand (all cars into their own group are parked together and we can put up club banners etc) then we need at least six cars and we book them in as a group, all the passes go to the club organiser who redistributes them to the individual members attendind The organisers close entries 3 weeks before the event, so ther is some time to organise The organisers are www. transtarpromotions.com They also have several more shows around the midlands but trentham is the largest they tell me So come on guys, what do you think? It's a cheap family day in nice surroundings with plenty to do - and a good chance to promote our cars and the club Rich
  13. OK I got my Zed back a few weeks ago from the retrimmers.... but the weather has been so shite this is the first time I had chance to take some pics You can spot on one of the pics (drivers side) that the metal illuminated 300ZX fell off lol but I do have it (in the centre console storage box) and soon as I get chance I'll silicone it back on! Anyway - some quick pics.... Rich
  14. Yes it was the fuse box by the accelerator pedal, visible once I removed the trim Thanks guys At least I have some idea where these things are if they go wrong
  15. Seeing as my Zed is in bits at the moment having a full leather refit, I put in some wiring for my new illuminated door sills and also some wiring into the doors for illuminated switches etc While upside down under the drivers footwell with the trim panels off I spotted yet another fuse box - what is this one for as opposed to the ones under hte bonnet (two that I know of)? Also there were a couple of things hiding under the back seat.... one is shown in the phot (red arrow) the one (no pic) is on the drivers side of the rear seat and was a bit bigger with a huge fook off connector plug attached to the top. What are those for? Just for future reference when something goes wrong at least I will know where the things are located Rich
  16. Hmmmmm a series off slits running from a narrow one at the front of the mirror to a wide on at the back...... nahh on second thoughts fook it let's make them chevrons.....then take a handfull of 'oblong' LEDs and a bit of my 'electrowizardry' or whatever someone called it..... and we could have a bit of a result in the pipeline here m8 :winkiss:
  17. Hmm Andy - do you think like those five pairs of LEDs would look good 'sequencing' when you put your indicator on?
  18. Hmm Andy - do you think like those five pairs of LEDs would look good 'sequencing' when you put your indicator on?
  19. not had it for over four weeks now as the interior retrimmers are taking a very long time to work on it but hopefully back this week and it will look a bit like znut's interior
  20. not had it for over four weeks now as the interior retrimmers are taking a very long time to work on it but hopefully back this week and it will look a bit like znut's interior
  21. Happy Birthday Andy have one on me :pint: I'm looking forward to seeing myself how it looks once fitted to your car Rich
  22. Just about completed now... and it's no longer a bare circuit board Final bench test went fine tonight :cool3:
  23. Hmm illuminated boot installs..... I have a few ideas about that  Then you have a birthday pressy on the way for Friday!! Yep and I have been very happy with the goodies that have been coming my way too. Collaboration produces some very nice results IMHO
  24. Yeah that was the brake light - I added buttons to the controller so you can test brake fog and reverse lights without connecting it to the car. As I had not fitted the fog/reverse light holders when i did hte demo video you see some brake light comming through there but you won't once it is all fitted Seeing as I added test buttons all you need is a 12V supply and a phono lead to a sound source to test the whole panel I am hoping the controller will fit behind the plastic trim panel on the centre rear of the boot, once you have adjusted everything to your stereo system and set your own custom colour then you only need the one knob to control everything Rich
