Would love an opinion on 2 zeds I've seen :-/
This one is not so far from you http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/nissain-300zx-twin-turbo-auto/1022395841 Went and had a look with a friend - got the guy down to around £2200 but personally thought it was worth more like £1500 (which actually we offered) I had a good look as best I could under this one, knowing where the rust problems are because mine cost last year £700 to get the sills and floor pan solid before I fitted the body kit. The car does not appear to have corrosion problems and was MOTd 2 months ago but needs replacement front seats IMHO (posssible to pick some up one here) and really wants a respray to get it tip top. Having said that it's a daily runner and sounds sweet enough If you really wanna have a good look at a Z in the 'flesh' to see what can be done with some time and money (I payed 2k for my car originally) then you are not too far away for me to take a run over on a warm afternoon as long as I can get the targas off of course lol Rich

Lots of white smoke when revving engine
Well my Z safely arrived at Zedworld after a whole load of fun getting it onto a flatbed without breaking something Jeff offered to sort out the problems so hopefully in a few days we will have some definitive answers as to what went wrong and maybe even why Rich

Big mistake!!!
A blown track or a fuse would suggest an open circuit amp not a short circuit one Probably it is a Class D amp (which in reality is more related to a Switch Mode power supply circuit than a conventional amplifier) and the output device(s) - probably those things that look like regulators and are likely to be short Rich

Is this someone on here?
Yeah it does m8 in the pics, shame is it's several shades of pearlescent white so needs a respray, and the seats need replacing or re-uphostering from scratch Like I said though it's a solid Z from what I could poke around at - managed to crawl under the sills and they look OK (and it was MOT 2 months back) Maybe the owner will appear on here, it would be nice to keep another one on the road, or at least see it go to a new home Rich

Is this someone on here?
Actually me and a mate went round to have a look at this as he is looking to purchase a Z to spend some money on and get into show condition For what I can see it is a good solid car with some nice 19" alloys, body kit, and sounds fine but the interior needs work on the seats and it wants a respray to get into anything like show condition. It's obviously had some money spent on it at some time (hardpipes, braided lines etc) Looks like the body kit has been fitted and flashed over but a slight different shade unfortunately. Anyways turns out the owner (nice guy) isn't desperate to sell and may want to keep it but is having problems with higher than normal fuel consumption (compared to mine anyway) as this is his daily runner. So I invited him to join the forum and get some proper advice on this car (told him he has to subscribe if he wants to offer it for sale) so maybe he will come and join the club. BTW this is either a UK spec or had the windscreen changed. Door windows seemed more blue tint than bronze as well Not sure which body kit this is but here are a few pics I took with permission Rich

wireless router
It looks like the edimax one but does not seem to have the repeater mode. If you can run a cable to it from the router that would work. Also that option they show with the two powerline adaptors for £40.47 looks good value In this case you connect one powerline adaptor to the sky router vias ethernet cable and plug it into a mains socket Go into another room and also connect the other powerline adapter to the wireless access point and plug into a mains socket. You now have two separate access points in the house. simples Rich

FAO people with yellow Z
Black roof bars and tinted targas with a tintyed back hatch look well cool! And keep the car cooler as well (save you having to fit those inner blinds on the targas) I also replaced all the 20 yr old external rubber trim, scuttles etc with new I have done all this on my car )the trim was not cheap) and am very pelased with the results RIch

wireless router
You can only have one router on the network m8 (unless you put one into modem mode and use another as a router) From what you are describing you need a wireless extender I use one of these which works like a dream http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Edimax-Wireless-11n-Range-Extender-Access-Point-with-5-Port-Switch-/360666332097?pt=UK_Computing_Wireless_Routers&hash=item53f9637bc1 It has three modes and it is very easy to set up Mode 1. You run a network cable from your router to the extender and then use it as a separate wireless access point. This is the way I use mine (have a LAN cable from my netgear router upstairs to my Edimax access point in the conservatory. To make life easy I set the password on the Edimax wireless to be same as the netgear. This means I now have two wireless access points. I can connect my Android phone, Tablet etc from anywhere in the house to whichever is the strongest signal in that location Mode 2. You put the Edimax somewhere in the house that you can still connect to your wireless router and set it to Universal Repeater mode. This means no cables between the edimax and the sky router. What happens now is you have one wireless access that covers more of the house Mode 3. You can use the edimax as a wireless bridge. For example you could connect a games console (which does not have built in wireless) via a LAN cable to the edimax and then connect wirelessly to you router (assuming you are within range) I find Mode 1 suits my neads better and only had to run one LAN cable beteen the router and edimax I also find the edimax is much stronger. For example at the rear of the house i can only connect to the edimax but upstairs by the netgear I connect toboth

Shugborough Hall classic car show Sun 11th August
Is there any further interest in this show? I can't advertise it on zclub.net as it clashes with Zedfest so it's a matter of if we can get enough cars from here We would certainly need a few more for a club stand Rich

Auto Gearbox, Is It Dead????
I wish I was more knowledgable about these cars then I wouldnt' say stupid things lol !! Anyway it was this one, it's about 2 miles from me. I think I saw some other pic of the engine bay which told me it is an NA cos I do know the difference when I see one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300-ZX-COMPLETE-KIT-TO-CONVERT-TO-MANUAL-BOX-AND-ALL-PARTS-TO-COVERT-/321144441491?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac5b34a93 Oh he is asking £500 for the manual conversion not £600 Rich

Auto Gearbox, Is It Dead????
Theres a breakers got a NA Zed Manual very near me - I spoke to them two week ago because I was after the Vacuum Clutch Assist cylinder (if that's what it's correctly called) as the one on my car is FUBAR and I have it disconnected which makes the clutch heavy. Anyway they wouldn't sell it to me as they were offering the whole kit as a 'ready to fit' Manual conversion for £600 If that's any use to you I'll pass you the number so you can see if they still have it. I still need a clutch assist thing BTW (if anyone has one) but hear they are like rocking horse poo to find. If I'd had the cash spare I'd of probably been best to buy the whole lot of them, keep the bit and need and sell the rest separately lol Rich

I'm good with electronics m8 - I may be able to fix your amp if you are stuck

Adjustable Tension Rods
Ahh this seems to have been answered elsewhere, MeisterR do these? I didn't see them on their website though so don't have price

Adjustable Tension Rods
I've got a problem with the front tyres catching against the wheel arch liners, this was happening a bit with my 225/19/40s but now I have 235s on the front it is worse Problem occurs when cornering - the sharper the corner or fster the speed the more likely it is to catch I also noticed a few others at the show last weekend had the same problem So I need to sort it out. I asked Jeff at Zedworld to look at this when my car was there last time It seems to me the wheels sit a bit too far forward in the arches and he said to fit some adjustable tension rods so I could alter the wheel position Any recommendation what I need to buy and from where? Cheers Rich

Shugborough Hall classic car show Sun 11th August
OK Gray let me know when you can....... seems like a little convoy from M6 J16 to M6 J13 forming.... It's a lot easier to get a meeting point at J16 at the Little Chef than at J15 though it means me going 8 miles the wrong way lol Maybe we can get another one heading up the other way, then all meet at J13 to drive the last 6 miles
