Good reason not to let your wife near your ZED
For someone who claims to be a bit thick around cars, she sure knows her way 'round a zed engine

300ZX = next chav max muppets car?
This is a very interesting thread. not once did I see a 300zx owner referring to the heritage this car comes from. Since 1969 that magical letter Z has excited a number of generations. Why is a GTO valued more than a 300zx? Why are supras considered a superior car? Simply, they had no history, nothing to be compared to. Just a clean sheet. Cars made from new materials and technology developed in the late 80's, Early nineties. Some are superior, I must admit, in technology. Datsun/Nissan re-difined the sports car. A reliable sleek looking car that revolutionised the motoring industry in 1969 with the first 240z.. But that is where the motoring journalists came into play. Every new model was compared to the last. When our beloved 300zx model z32 came along in 1990 it was described as "stunning, word leading," one journalist even called it the "best sportscar in the world", referring to the n/a in 1990.By 1996 the same journalists were saying " too expensive, the Z has gone too heavy and too complicated". The Supra ,Gto and many others came out around the same time with nothing to live up to.The Motoring press loved these new cars. But in my opinion this is to our advantage. I couldn't care less what people tell me about supras ,gto's skylines or all the rest. the Zed is here to stay. It's got substance. Not only that is is one hell of a car to drive. And still a fantastic looking machine. Passion. That's what it all boils down to.

push button start
Lol! I remember my Dad having a push button start fitted to his Renault Fuego(anyone rember them?) in 1986. So given the technology advancement I would say yes. Nice little touch tho!

1st time buying...advice please
Welcome bud, as you already said this is the place for info and help. Unusual to see you're looking for an auto first, most people who have never driven a 300zx and want to buy one assume the auto is slower . IT AIN'T!. Also a well looked after autobox is virtually bulletproof. Happy motoring! :)

dfx file for the z logo
If you can save a drawing as a plotfile yes. just draw a line or something, and see what filetypes you can save it as . also check if you can import a plotfile.
-
dfx file for the z logo
Hi. I do have it on coreldraw which is a plotfile, Unfortunately corel 9 wont save it as a dfx file, but depending on what cad you're using a plotfile might do.

how do you get the wheel studs out?
don't get too excited till you try and fit them . When I got mine from nissan I asked the guy 5 times are you sure these are the correct ones for the rear wheels ."yup" says he. "so you're little dealership always carry the special size required for the rear of a 14 year old 300zx even though it's an import?" says I. "yup" says he. :nono: :nono: :nono: nissan talking through their arse as usual. Mike Feeney to the rescue (as usual) :)
