  1. if you wait you will find the 'BMF rally' at peterborough the best value( 80%ish off most stuff) two shows a year. check it out.
  2. I'm just protecting the seats from getting soaked really. last year the frameless windows let in loads of water and I sadly choose to dry them out by sitting on them and then changing my trousers afterwards. cheers tho. I'm actually doing a bit of work on it too.. saw your mate ( the one who was with you at the horse&jockey that time) at OnYerBike. dont think he remembered me at all but I said 'hi' all the same. - think he was preoccupied with his mate ripping it out of him for being short. It was cool.
  3. The names have been changed to protect the Slow-coach. Seen going out for a blast in a RWD car he wants to sell for many thousands cos it's snowing here (only a few mm) ......but going sooo slow at a round-a-bout that the speedo wouldn't have registered it. But I obviously do hope you make it back home with a car of the same value, Mr C. --oooh and your blue lights looked real nice against the cascading flakes!

  5. everyone says we are opposite sides of the globe to Australia when in fact it's actually New Zealand, so you might as well be on the moon for all you know about living in the situation we are in. The first time we fell out was about futuristic Nissan cars. I hold back due to contractual obligations(I like my job and must stay fairly anon)but where I work we make/evalutate and evolve Nissans futuristic cars. So wind your neck back in Sonny.
  6. It looks damn awful. You should buy it. it represents your opinion of others and your personality.
  7. We are all going to die one day. I think we forget that. You, yes YOU, are about to have 24 hours of choices. All these choices are yours and only yours. Feel free to try and tell all kind of things but you don't have to do anything. Don't worry about the future of this debate. the real things you should worry about are probably things that have never crossed your mind. You could type a reply to this, or others.. or you could sing...a song..one you like. Sometimes you are ahead. Sometimes you are behind. Sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes you are the statue. this debate is only happennning because a journalist is good at being in the puplic eye & it pays his bills. He, like us are arising to the chance to give an opinion. Leave the debate before it makes you hardened. Read the debate to stop from being soft. If you read the lastest to find out what your opinion is you balance out the people who troll the internet all day. Don't feel bad if you dont care. Don't feel bad because you do care. Your life is just chance. So is everybody elses. Fanatasize if you like but dont expect anyone else to support you. You never know the way the wind may blow.
  8. internet post from a friend elsewhere.........Today I grateful that I have job which pays me well every month, pays me to have 33 days holiday a year, pays me when I'm I'll to stay at home and lay on my sofa, has let me work from home when my child has been I'll and has paid for me to do a degree and a masters degree... Oh and by the way I'm a public sector worker! (she does know about the bad spelling) PS- am being told to 'far cough' by people on facebook for talking about this, yet havn't even given an opinion yet.- good old internet muscles flexing.
  9. ^^^^ Wendy??? hahahahahahaha. Amazing the things you learn on this site.
  10. just your average teenage taking it for a quick ...spin. nothing new to see here. :)
  11. I have never really been that involed with electrics either. I'm just mystified as to why and what this light sensor does.
  12. the best colour is the blue. and yes a turbo can beat it in a straight line, who hasnt watched Top Gear? but in corners the turbo will be left behind. The handling is good. the finish is either to your taste or not ( the '3 dots' everywhere is not the best brand recognition idea I have seen) and I think they sound a little unfinished. When you shut the door they are a bit tinny, not so solid sounding. Torque is good. you can drive along all day before noticing you had the handbrake on. The ESP will save your life its that good.and while you dont get rear seats you do get a woofer speaker the size of a Mexicans hat in their place. Working on them- spark plugs are swapped in half an hour infact the basics are easily done. everything major is.. major. the engine bay is packed. You will never see the engine number! the boot is tiny too because the strut brace is there to be seen. &Reliable. so damn realiable.
  13. ZX-TT can you now chase down the blue 300Zx that parks outside TK-Max alot. Broadfields. It has Crystal rears that dont sit flush. Looks good from a distance...
  14. RRRRRR's- you have one at the top of your legs, behind you. go to it Tiger! hahaha
  15. this is a post to give you ideas and hope, not answers sadly (and maybe you already have the answer. Lets hope) but if your earth and alternator and regulator are not working as they should the current in you car will take any route it can to make a circuit-so will send you round the houses giving you false hope/readings in many places then suddenly appear fixed... one minute the lights might seem to help matters(creating a circuit) then next moment they might be a hinderance (draining current), all due to a see-saw on/off intermitent action of one or all of the above three. dont give up hope... but maybe give up some cash.. :0
  16. its an RRRs but IF it is simply the pedal that squeaks yuo could slide the seat back and get head and shoulders in the footwell facing upwards (-- this is like a mega Yoga postition)and have a look at the pedal mounting fabrication. . Yes you might have to remove a bit of the duct to see better but its easy. The pedal fabrication houses a spring at the hinge. each end is a small plastic washer/spacer. this goes astray/wears thru. douse area in WD40 (other spray oils are available etc ;) ) the oil will clinge for many months and all thats left is a slight tiny 'whoosh' as the rod passes thru the bulkhead material.
  17. have you tried turning the lights on First. before looking. Its the thingy on the stalk by the round thing. it does something and suddenly you can see light. :)
  18. the answer changes somewhere between the third and fifth beer. so if there is no beer there is no answer. quiet simple really.
  19. OR.. following on from Hollows advice... stay at the speed of traffic. thats means go as fast as the car in front/ the car behind. It is against the highway code to cause an obstruction or to needlessly delay others.( my words-theirs are convoluted in comparrison) Things are weird but if.. and I mean IF.. your lane is chocka and undertaking than you too must undertake/ if your lane is speeding then you too must keep to the speed. Who really needs an indication of speed whan you have the car infront to lead the way! hahahahahaha
  20. what the feck is a 'milometer' hahahahahahahahahaha
  21. really good thread. wow.
  22. Just a 'hi' to Leo really. yes theywhoever they may be, say you will damage your clocks if you erhum.. play with them. theyrefer to the spring that holds the numbers inline. thats it. just this little spring. heard this so much for so many years. laughed for quite a while when I got in there and clocked my first car. it can happen, yes, but only if every owner has done it.
  23. there's people here who can weld!!! brilliant. I gave up a decade back. really disliked getting burnt since you asked. Berrica seems informed but to get around the power prob you simply need a transformer. and they cos loads. -Hire shops maybe will your friend until you are at home with what is on offer concerning controls and power. if you but one and use it , most of its life you will be changing to new wire/nibs/tips/leads/water/bottles/etc: Hire equipment should be well maintained is all I'm suggesting. and yes.. what else do you need? to remove the car battery (did you know?) well there's the nodder and gautlets, plus transformer and sander. please buy a sander. NOT a grinder. and listen to bacon frying. I mean REALLY listen to it. you want to get used to that noise.
  24. BMW indicators seem to be a common fault. you hardly ever see one indicating.
