Wiring up a KPH to MPH converter - how? (LARGE PICS)
I haven't soldered in many a year, but fear not, I used flux and made sure it had a very good contact. No way it's coming off! :) Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Quick radiator question?
Well, I just bought this for £32 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-Z32-TWIN-TURBO-VG30DETT-AUTO-RADIATOR-/191131062276?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c804c9004 It looks pretty good, a good deal I think, let's hope it is! :D

Wiring up a KPH to MPH converter - how? (LARGE PICS)
Ok, I have these nice clocks - and with help from the seller, I have wired up the KPH to MPH converter I got with them, as follows - You'll notice I have one light orange (dark yellow maybe) wire with a spade on the end that is not connected. I'm told this needs splcing into the main clock loom. That's great, but which wire? Left or right - I think, one of the left ones...makes more sense - ...but could be the right - I'm not sure what effect splicing into the wrong wire could have, but I imagine it cant be good. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :) EDIT - I found the sellers original intructions - Black - Left Red - Low mid Green - Right Yellow 4th wire on right loom plug So which is the 4th wire on the right plug?

Quick radiator question?
Yep, I've put a NA engine, from my rotten NA, into a turbo shell (see my top link below). I wasn't sure about the oil cooler, but figured it didn't matter. I have to admit the alloy radiators look really nice, and strong, but at this point it will have to be a future mod! :)
-
Quick radiator question?
I actually have an NA radiator, thought I was going mad when it was too long. What everyone is saying about an aftermarket alloy radiator makes a sense, but I think the cheapest I found was £120, which is pushing it a little, especially with everything else I need. I don't need it right now, just would have been nice to get the engine started in the new shell....I'll see what happens. Cheers! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Quick radiator question?
Ok, I get it now - http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=lc&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=13&design=default&total=15 If I don't use the oil cooler connections, does it matter?

Quick radiator question?
Cheers, do you know what the difference is? Just my turbo shell had an oil cooler, which I removed, but that suggests it was an auto originally, even though it had a regular gear stick...so maybe converted at some point.
-
Quick radiator question?
So, went to fit my NA radiator into my turbo shell. It doesn't fit of course... So I need a turbo one, and I was about to buy one from Ebay. Can I just confirm that there aren't any variations of turbo radiator? Last thing I need is another that doesn't fit!

What did you do to your zed today?
Thanks, I've just reseached that now. The new compressor didn't leak any, so it may be dry, I probabaly should get some.

I changed my compressor. Is it normal for a compressor to leak oil...I think it was oil -

Cat or no cat, that is the question!
Sorry, just saw this. I already have decat down pipes, they were on when I bought my original car, I think they're stainless steel. I'm going to try and fit them to an OEM exhaust (cat back) I got from Ebay for 99p (plus delivery) ages ago. I'm not sure if they're the same diameter, so may need a reducer. Hopefully I'll get them out next week, so I'll work it out then. :)

Cheers all, decat it is then! :)

Cat or no cat, that is the question!
Yes....sorry, another cat question. So, I'll be putting an exhaust on my car soon, and I know the MOT rules changed recently (Jan I think). My engine (NA), is from a 92 car, in a 90 shell. Both are imports. I read somewhere, that even if you don't need a cat, one has to be present at the mot!? I found this - Car that needs cats - - 1992 for normal UK cars; - 1992 for imported cars that were officially available in the UK; and - 1995 for imported cars that were never officially available in the UK However, I also found a flow chart that stated that if the car wasn't on the database (and I believe import Zeds arent?) then they are tested as 'no cat' by default. I just don't want to put a non cat system on, to have to remove it again, to cat it. Any help would be appreciated.

Forgotten how to wire up the starter!
Possibly, but I just put the gearbox back on, so would, or should have noticed. I will find it, likely through contortion and pain! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Forgotten how to wire up the starter!
Well, I've been utterly confused today! Went through all my boxes, and my original rotten Zed, which is full of various bits....no cable to be seen. (I also can't find my ECU!) I kept everything organised when I dismantlement my original Zed, and kept the ECU separate to 'keep it safe', which makes it worse! Anyway, I checked the engine, and both the negative and positive battery connectors are there. So I thought, if the positive connector is there, then that has to go down to the starter. However, it didn't matter how hard I looked I couldn't find it. So, had a look through some old pics, to see where that cable / harness goes, and I've found it - So it is there, I'm NOT crazy! Where it is, that's another story, I think perhaps it's trapped further up somewhere.

Great, I have tomorrow off to work on the car....but it's meant to pour down.... So hopefully I'll get over and check it out. I think I made a mental note of all this...but that was two years ago.
