a few of us have had our cars off the road i know mine is but it was always like we said a few years ago bristol for us is not to bad but for us to goto plymouth is at least 3 hours as it would be for you to come up here it would just be nice to have something this end just for a change, the southwest does go as far as tewksbury but at the mo i'm afraid midlands and welsh meets are closer to home for me rather than southwest

what about the gloucester end for a change for the members up here, been nothing this way since january every month pretty much has been way down south with one or 2 meets in bristol

no your wrong si quedgley is just off bristol rd gloucester, the golden valley bypass is in cheltenham

just updated the list, i posted the other day about all the southwest meets being bristol or beyond how come we dont have a gloucester meet in the summer when it's warm not in oct or jan when it's cold and a lot of cars are off the road i know mine will be off the road nov till april when it's back oh allan still got a package in the boot of the car for you when we both get 5 mins

my point is not everyone this end wants to travel to bristol or beyond i used to but i know i wont be when i get the car back bristol is not to bad but plymouth/exeter etc for me would be a 3 hour trip just something more local is my point the only gloucester meet we have is in january when it's freezing cold and a lot of zeds are off the road for the winter perhaps the south west should be split into 2 as it's such a big area

is it me or are all the southwest meets this year been bristol and further down the southwest now i know i wont have my zed back till next year but what about somthing for the gloucester area for the local guys up here who do not want to keep travelling to bristol and beyond the southwest area does spread up as far as tewksbury

only problem with small claims in it costs you 10% of the claim to put it through court and in my experiance of small claims they tend to move in favour of the party owng the money, and as posted above the court do not pay the money until it has been paid to the court in full so could take years to get it back.

isnt august usually the joint wales/mids/s-west meet at ross on wye i cant organise it this year as i'm snowed under with work but if anyone wants the pub details to organise it then get in touch

i'm not flooded out more flooded in luckily i'm on high ground where i live but cant get to gloucester, my only way out currently is to goto wales then m4/m5 which is heavy with traffic and the water is still rising in gloucester they say it will peak tommorrow(tuesday) afternoon

well here is my input i've been a dj for the last 20yrs both mobile and club and seriously now it has all gone to cd and mp3 although there are a few disadvantages of mp3 the main one being it is illegal to use mp3 for public performance..............unless you go to ppl and buy a digital dj license which is £250 plus vat per year for 20,000 tracks. on top of that you also have to sit down every 3 months and give them a full list of tracks you have played with catalogue numbers etc so they can work out how to pay the royalties, this license is a rip off as if you use cd you dont need to buy it and the biggie with it it does not allow you to play downloaded mp3(from the likes of limewire etc) or mp3's you have made yourself from your cd collection as this is illegal also due to mechanical copyright (i.e. you can not change the original format of the track you bought) so it covers legally downloaded tracks only. but that aside there are some good laptop dj software out there pcdj is good as it can have a karaoke plug in etc added to it. the new denon hd2500 also a nice dual twin mp3 player with cd capability by buying a seperate unit. as mentioned above about scratching it's usually high end units that have this feature pioneer cdj 1000 denon table tops/dn-d9000 etc and there are a couple of numarks with it as well. my advice if you are getting back into it go cd,vinyl is dying out not even promo companys send me vinyl anymore just everything on cd

if you feel confident with it try it your self if not take it to a specialist about as far as i've gone with mine is replacing hydraulic lifters and 60k service, that was not quite as daunting as i expected although i was slighty worried when i started, but i would do it again

yep series 1 ptu is prone to failiure so series 2 is the way forward
