  1. i've been in the dj game for over 25 years and own 1 of the dj supply companies featured on the web (not sure if i can post a link?) as said cdj's are industry standard and for time code to run vdj are okbut most cd decks would perform the same when used as time code, vdj is very good to (i am biased use it myself) version 8 is just around the corner and promises many new features. mackie are good but there are a lot more brands than just them i would suggest listening to plenty of rigs and make a choice depending on your budget, don't buy the new jbl eon range though! slight inside info here on eonsthey currently use a auto sensing circuit to set the voltage when you plug them in I.E 110-240v unfortunatly they don't fit a crow bar circuit should the system not detect the voltage quick enough, so in a lot of cases these are getting plugged in, they don't sense quick enough and the power supply goes bang, lots of ££££'s to fix and no fix yet been released by jbl
  2. something rings a bell with my white zed (yes i still have it!) and southport will check later
  3. could be will pull it apart on the weekend
  4. hi all i seem to have gained a water leak into the cabin it's coming dripping from the platic clip that holds the sunvisor (just above the rear view mirror) not a huge leak but all the same a leak, have checked the targa drain and that seems to be connected ok, i also have water ingress around the rear wiper grommet so getting a wet boot every time i open it, mine is just sat on the surface of the tailgate which does not seem right i thought it should of passed therough the tailgate like a normal grommit would, could someone confirm this for me? cheers all
  5. :thumbup1::lol::lol::lol:
  6. i know someone was looking for a set of these and the folowing popped up in ebay in search http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-Nissan-Fairlady-300ZX-Z32-Rear-Quater-Window-Visors-RARE-2-2-/230787542388?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item35bc026d74
  7. it's quite straight forward when you get into it, i'm now thinking about loosing the std stereo and building a touch screen into the din slot but as car goes off the road end of sept going to wait till then and do as a winter project lol
  8. you can but i only have one output on the pc, which means crossover/ pre amp etc and you have to look at the screen to turn volume up/down so i opted to keep normal stereo in as i have 3 sets of pre outs (front/rear/sub) so i can easily adjust anything on the move, also using the output direct from the pc does not give you full volume you need a pre amp in the line to boost the signal
  9. Nice Try lol it's pretty easy to do, i dropped lucky with the pc i'm using i picked up a artigo a100 off ebay for £65 ideal for car pc and small (it fits in the palm of your hand) so takes up no space. i then bought a intelligent power supply (auto switch on/off) it's been running fine until of course the screen decided to burn out yesterday i bought it used and it seems new ones arn't cheap and very few around
  10. yes mat i run my audio through the aux in on the normal stereo so i have control over the sub etc, could be a manual in dash one but single din either way
  11. can anybody recomend a motorised in dash touch screen for a car pc? got one in mine at the the mo which is a older model but has decided to stop working today, and smells of burnt components so guessing it's dead so looking for ideas cheers guys
  12. as the threads titled can anybody tell me what size the timing cover bolts are just had my painted covers fitted and want stainless bolts just to finish it off
  13. big thanks to jeff tt for the work on the zed today, changed the cambelt, sorted my fuel pipe problem and a det sensor problem i didn't even know i had this all led a more responsive throttle pn the way home and a more spirited drive, great to get the zed running as it should also got my painted cam covers/chrome water pipes fitted as well, was also nice to meet jonce(i think thats how he spells it lol) who also popped in to see jeff, but once again thanks for your brilliant work jeff
  14. if you mean a pollen filter i don't think there is
  15. i may pop down to this not 100% sure at the mo as i would need to leave around 6AM currently though i'm, not working the saturday night
  16. 19" x 8.5 fron 19" x 9.5 rear swt wheels not sure on model
  17. done all the hoses apart from the rear one and i have 1 front one to do, oil not that old and not done huge miles it's not a worry at the moment but want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a huge problem
  18. i noticed the zed very slightly smoking on tick over (blue smoke) but only did it when on a incline it's ok when on the flat and under normal driving it has done it before after running on boost and parking up quite soon after i will get smoke at tickover but it clears as soon as i driver a little further, did the pcv valves about 850 miles ago could it be some residue left in the pipes causing the problem? or something more sinister?
  19. engineering costs arn't cheap being stainless steel so unless ordering a few it wouldn't be financially viable
  20. zed centre used to sell the smithy's/dta top bracket you do need a support on there and not just rely on the hose if you went over a sharp bump in the road top hose and just resting the rad in the pins won't stop it popping out
  21. don't think anyone does them in the uk since smithys/dta closed i think conzept in the states maybe one of the few options http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=438&Car_Type=300&UID=2012070908433689.206.226.2
  22. just been to see my friendly starter & alternator centre and they have confirmed alternator bearings are very noisey not going to fail straight away but just a annoying sound, but £70 to strip recon & refit to the car seems quite a good deal to me
  23. power steering pot level is above the level of the botom of the filter inside, the noise is a kind metal to metal rubbing noise hence i initially thought water pump as it's that sort of noise but 'listening' through a bar water pump doesent seem noisey but as said above power steering pump side does, sounds louder through drivers wheel arch and could be me it seems to be faster than engine rpm making me think could be alternator bearings have checked and alternator charging ok, i have a alternator centre just down the road from me so i may call in there in the morn and get them to check alternator
  24. ok now the rains stopped had another look /listen put a large screwdriver on the water pump and had a listen that doesent sound to noisey but power steering pump does, but could be getting noise up from the alternator maybe so guess i know what i'm doing the weekend
