  1. you may just need to tention it back up could either of the front belts ones does alternator/power steering other does aircon
  2. agreed fine grade wet & dry will be sufficient
  3. i'm now confused.com
  4. i remember this zed in the club when i first joined lovely zed dont like those side skirts on it now and it did look better with the previous front bumber
  5. i've got a solenoid on mine but disconnected it with it off the locking works fine with the key but with it on i get very restricted movement using the key and sometimes cant unlock the car with the key, i think either the solenoid not great or attached in the wrong place
  6. i can now confirm that i can't make it sunday so hopefully there will be something in sept before i take the zed off the road for winter
  7. just looking for thoughts on this one the gear change on my zed feels very clicky and sometimes difficult to put into some gears (clutch was replaced circa 8000 miles ago) i do have movement in the gear lever also if i try twisting it in a clockwise/anti clockwise direction there is a fair bit of movement there, is the probabble cause the nylon bushes in the bottom of the gear stick? on the good side my smoking problem hasn't appeared the last 6/7 times ive used the zed until this morning when it started to smoke slightly just when i thought it had cleared lol
  8. the problems with zed turbos that i've read on here are usually people take the cats off and the car starts to smoke so people think removing cats causes the turbos to fail, this is not the case, it is the turbos were already failing but the extra bit of back pressure from the cats was holding the seals tight therefore stopped the oil leaking/burning there are plenty of zeds out there running decat some with new turbos other with originals and have no problems with smoking,
  9. i may possibly be able to get there it's depending on if i have to take the dog to a show or not
  10. as the title really anything happening meet wise in july or aug?
  11. thats wht mines doing and it does not smoke everytime i used the zed 2 days last week and it never smoked but used it today and it did yet all 3 times were the same journey same driving style, i would of thought turbo's/rings etc it would be all the time, i am going to do a compression test just for peace of mind then take it from there, i have reset the trip counter so i will know when i've done another 500miles to sus wether it is still from pcv's or not
  12. not 100% sure dave never took miliage at the time i did them (Doh), but my thoughts exactly on the turbos even if recon they must of been pretty badly done to fail after 8000 miles, (and it was pointed out to me on here the £950 they guy paid was about right for new stock turbos) only other thought was oil was thin and dirty before i changed so could be some of that still in the breather system maybe as it seemed to get getting oiled up in the passenger side pcv valve
  13. thats damn shite then turbos were new as far as i know the guy paid close to a grand for the turbos alone, also had cluth etc done few other bits and his bill was £2750 only 4 years/8000 miles ago but turbo seals wouldnt cause oil to be pushed/sucked into the pcv pipes would they?
  14. is there a white connector? never noticed i know injector connectors and yellow connectors are from mr f, the blue connectors can be bought from conzept z, they do get them made up theirselves and are currently waiting for a batch
  15. yes even better we have a large tool supplier opposite my shop and i've known the owner for years so should be able to get a good price off him
  16. i havn't got one here will prob invest in one myself even though i have worked on cars for years never done comp testing before
  17. not yet that will prob be next on my list now, was hoping it wasn't rings to be honest, but last weekend i used the zed same roads same driving style never smoked once, then today it started again, humour me on this as oil was thin dirty when i changed it a couple of weeks ago is it possible some of it could still be in the pcv pipework? only throwing this idea into the pot as i've only done 50ish miles since the oil change, pretty sure i've clocked up over 500 since pcv change but not 100% sure on that
  18. i havn't as such but dont tend to boot the zed a lot round here anyway (that plus i'm to tight to put in to much petrol lol) but a lot of the time round here it's on over run as it's quite hilly nothing whilst on over run but the smoking does start when i pull up at traffic lights etc but not straight away usually 1 or 2 mins after i stop if on traffic lights
  19. still trying to get to the bottom of my smoking problem on the zed, it only does it from the drivers exhaust, on tick over and when the car is warm, can get quite bad if ticking over for a while, i've replaced both pcv valves and pipes with silicone and did a oil change 2/3 weeks ago as oil was pretty thin and dirty, turbos were also replaced around 4 years ago(car has done 8000 miles since), never had any probs with dipstick being blown out or oil in the intake pipes but before i did pcv valves passenger pcv valve was oiled up quite bad and was quite a oily mess when the pipe was removed smoke however does look blue as oil burning, it never effected emissions on mot and usually clears after revving the engine up a couple of times then may take 5 mins or so to come back again really running out of ideas now short of engine out any ideas anyone?
  20. z centre prices are all plus vat if you have not included that in the £37 price above and delivery prob £5-£10
  21. having a white z as well as black i'm a little biased but a white zed does look stunning even in the original white
  22. the zeds just passed the mot for another year just needed a rear hicas arm and lower steering knuckle before i took her in, so i treated her to some new oil only had a advisory on smoking rom the right bank but emmisions were fine
  23. well i found the problem!!!! all the connectors on the iaa/iacv are loose/broken and 2 of them had popped off time for some new connectors i think
  24. oh yes every time i might give temp sensor a good clean first i know the connectors a little broke up so if i'm doing sensor might as well do the connector too
  25. yes water & oil levels are fine car had a boost leak fixed and had tickover/timing etc checked at zed world last oct (just before it went off the road) but this problem has been there for a while never seems to do it if its at a garage though it always behaves then
