tickover problem
i'm thinking temp sensor but correct me if you think otherwise, on cold start i'm getting a tickover of between 1500-2000rpm only problem is when the cars upto temp its still ticksover between 1000-1500rpm with a good blip of the throttle it will sometimes drop to 800ish where it should be but if i drive a short distance tickover is then back at 1000-1500rpm i'm thinking as i said coolnt temp sensor maybe? (tickover is normal if i disconnect it) but open to suggestions

Start of a misfire? Suggestions?
well as a indicator i've had intermitant misfires for a while it turned out to be injector connectors not only were they badly correded they all had the metal retaining clips missing so were either popping off or just the gunge causing bad connections, i've just replaced all my injector connectors and cleaned up the injector contacts, the zed is running very smooth now which it wasn't before

Start of a misfire? Suggestions?
check all the coil/injector connectors they tend to get gunged up

getting to bottom of the steering issue
its not notchy, steering feels fine if static just not right when moving was not cetering by itself and was difficult to steer left or right but only first time (i.e turn left first time its tight/hard but is ok if turning a few left turns in succession same with right hand) but found this play today so hopefully thats the cause would steering rack mounts show other symptoms?

Holes in the ICE ' Advice '
in my white zed (pics in my rides) i had infinity fronts, jbl rears and did a custom boot build (10"sub) and amped the rears as mid/top and sub sounded really good was going to amp fronts cause again could not hear them, but never needed too
-
Holes in the ICE ' Advice '
6x4 will fit i usually fit the jbl ones myself though a lot will say spend the money on the fronts (16cm i think) but i got to be honest previous owner fitted sony xplod ones in the front of mine spent over £200 with fitting.......waste of space i hear more from the rears than fronts think i currently have kenwoods from memory circa £30 on ebay

getting to bottom of the steering issue
just checked all the steering + suspension components on the zed, checked lower ball joints (as suggested by jeff tt) these are all fine, track rod end are all ok, did notice the passenger side wheel looks to be towing out (noticbly by eye) even though when i have had tracking checked they say it's only out by a small amount and not enough to cause the issues i have, but advised me not to pay to have the tracking done till i replace the rear steering arms and do the lot then (christ a nissan dealer offering good advice!!!) anyway purely by accident i found it, with the steering in the centre position i have a knocking if i sharply move the steering wheel left to right and i light knocking (as they do in mot test to check for play), i estimate 1/4 inch play between the road wheels starting to move so i'm guessing i have a steering knuckle problem, anyone know is it most likely going to be the lower one?

still got troublesome steering
thanks jeff somthing else to look at, steering was ok when i parked car up for the winter at end of october (not long after you checked her over and only found play in one upper camber arm) but this has stemed from car being stood really wierd sensation when driving but all ok if car is static, will check the lower ball joints tomorrow rather than worn is it possible one could of slightly seized?

still got troublesome steering
right how to explain this one jimmer suggested lower steering knuckle seized as car been stood for the winter so not totally ruling that out just yet but after other ideas/input so when the car is staionary i can turn the steering lock to lock with no issues or tight spots all the problems i am getting is when the car is moving, when turning a corner the steering does not come back to centre i have to manually do that, now heres the strange bit steering feels tight/heavy sometimes when steering left, sometimes when right never both at the same time and the speedo reads correctly, also getting a feeling off oversteer on sharper corners it like i steer in and have to put a little more lock on and it goes just to far, have had tracking checked today and they say its so little out it wont cause the problems i'm getting, did have a thought steering rack bushes maybe? would there be any other symptoms if it was rack bushes? just looking for your suggestions guys thanks in advance for any help/thoughts on this

puzzling misfire
ive just bought injector connecters off ebay for about £36 for the set

puzzling misfire
have had same with mine over the weekend but luckilly it never cleared itself this weekend so i could trace it, did u find it happened when hitting a bump in the road? first thing i would check (and these were my problem) check your injector connectors mine were corroded & loose as the metal retaining clips are missing on mine, other than that just check your electrical connections (coil packs, cas, ptu etc)

strange steering
not sure where to start on this had a search but still not any wiser just pulled the zed out of winter storage and took it for a drive and the steering feels a touch strange, syptoms are steering feels stiff when turning sometimes to left sometimes to right but its like it's lumpy in movement (car was ok when parked up for winter) and when coming out of a corner it self straightens most of the way and i need to pull it the final bit, also felt like a little oversteer a couple of times, the speedo is showing a constant speed, fluid is topped up and ok,no puddles of fluid anywhere and no hicas light (but this may have bulb removed) and also checked tyre pressures it maybe something that will 'loosen up' after use as the cars been stood but looking for ideas on this one

smoke advice
no just on tickover but is worse than it was before i did the pcv valves and pipes

smoke advice
hi all got a little issue with smoking on the zed, it started off if the car was left ticking over for around 10 mins it would start to smoke through the drivers exhaust, when i had the car at zedworld back in october jeff suggested replacing pcv valves as that was prob the cause (and the passenger pcv valve was pretty oiled up at the time) so anyway i have now replaced the pcv valves and hoses but i have noticed after a very short run (4 miles to work) the drivers side is smoking quite heavilly on tickover (which it never did before), i know it takes 500ish miles to clear oily residue from replacing pcv's and turbos were done 8000 miles ago by previous owner could there be something more serious wrong or is what i'm getting normal? cheers all
