  1. Appreciated Gaz, but it's time for me to say goodbye on this one as i'm going to sell it shortly...just never got enough time in it, to get the bug!
  2. I'm back on the legit, subs paid!...but not for long the zed dreams over for now.
  3. So sorry Lee! I've only picked up on this incident after reading the NEC thread and wondered why your car wasn't on the stand (figured the electrics again). So many of us have followed your build it feels like an old friend has left us!. Just so glad your OK! Early days, but I hope you can salvage some of the car and refocus to have another go, there's no doubt this was an epic build...Go luck to you.
  4. Appreciate the positives guys, thanks.
  5. Cheers Gary, really appreciated!
  6. Thanks Graham, I started, but a lot of problems privately at the moment, so fallen out with sorting the Zed. I've thought of selling it as it's too good to break...but then things hopefully will change and my Zed Mojo may come back!

  12. Great job mate! and master Kyran will be so proud of it when he finds out his Old Man! made it instead of being palmed off with a factory offering......if it last's. Lol!
  13. I was going to get into specific product, but I actually use Menzerna for Paint correction, I am also going to start trialling their marine range for the Boat Detailing I do. Good Call Gary!
  14. Good to hear you had a good result from the paint cut, but you'll probably find most of the swirls and micro scratches are as a result of going to the local garage (drive by hand clean!!) Nissan paint is medium to soft so you should consider carefully the cutting product to be used and always take a paint depth reading to see how much top coat you have to work with, that said there aren't many bad products on the market (they will all to some effect reduce/remove paint defect) just that some are far better then others. When I detail cars for paint correction I follow this format. Snow Foam Hot pressure rinse Hot hand Wash (microfiber/wool mitt) Cool rinse Hand dry (microfiber cloth) Clay bar Iron-x if required Paint clean Compound Machine Cut Detailer clean Machine Polish Hydro Detailer Hand Wax Polymer Seal (sometimes) I would recommend anyone not familiar or skilled with a rotary polisher to use a Dual action polisher which is far more forgiving. Rotary's will cover better but it is easy to catch an edge or burn paint if your not careful. Have you got any pictures of the finished car Will?
  15. The main problem with the evaluation of different product and trying to establish a real benchmark between them is you invariably are using the same base for test purposes. i.e. your car! When each and every product you try is applied, the base line is always easier for the next one to improve on results, which is why I've started to use a base panel which is lightly mopped when ever I trial a new product (cleaner, Polish , wax) these at least lets me establish the ease of use and of course final results, whether with a hand or machine application. Of course, Snow foam and washes are a bit more obvious in their performance and effectiveness as you are removing a constant (with the addition of seasonal variances) i.e. road grime, Tar and air borne detritus.
  16. If I'm doing a valet I start of with a snow foam and spray (never Jet) off, then power wash ( I use a commercial Hot pressure washer) then you can Wash, Clay, Paint clean, Polish and wax! Depending on the car paint condition. The personal preference for product will vary depending on the budget and the car paint and condition, My choices vary from brand to brand whether it's TFR or a Wax but then I do Boats as well and only a few products crossover. The application of claying and paint cleaning gives you as good a base as any to polish and then seal with a wax, It basically provides a great base for a long term shine, but shouldn't be performed too frequently.
  17. If you clay bar the car, follow it up with a paint clean before applying polish and wax
  18. Think the clues in the name!
  19. It's been on Ebay for a few days now, has done the rounds before and got the attention of the forum then! Perhaps there all becoming ashamed when they see the good stock coming through these days.
  20. I think I would cry if May took my Ferrari 250 GT California into town, let alone in the wet, £6-£8m worth of Italian metal, just one of his amazing Ferrari collection, although he sold a few to by the GT
  21. You just know someone somewhere is going to give that a try and then ask for advice when it doesn't work!!
