  1. Full Respect on that thread Dave, I got to page eight before I was overwhelmed with the task you took on and I'm just reading it! A great reference for anyone looking at any level of mig welding...
  2. Mmm! Sounds like a fishy tale to me. Lol!
  3. It is after much consideration and with a very heavy heart that I have come to the decision to part with J299, my lovely 1992 JDM 300ZX TT Manual in Black, up for sale requiring repair. Looking for Best offers over £2k and will consider including spare engine for the right price, but don't be shy all offers will be considered. I know this would make a fantastic car again, as it was before an overexcuberant run up the motorway saw the bottom end let go (no 5 or 6 I believe) as I cant see it put through another winter outside (albeit under wraps) without being repaired. There is a lot of paperwork/receipts with this car including the original import paperwork. Firstly i would like someone to buy this car for the purpose of repairing and putting back on the road, It has issues but is too good to be broken in my opinion. It needs to go to someone familiar with working on/ replacing engines and some welding to replace outer rear quarter sills. The engine has suffered a bottom end failure due to the common lack of of oil pressure failure, so I would imagine a bottom end rebuild would be required. The engine was subject to a major build before I bought it including 360 bearing turbos and I have a folder of paperwork for parts and work done by the previous owner, including engine/Turbo rebuild, new wiring looms etc. My intention was to temporarily replace the engine with a spare motor from an Auto that I picked up, rebuild the original and then swap them back out again, as the spare will require some valve work to make it sound following a leak down test, I have held off this process in the event that I may as well just sort the original out when it was pulled. As it is I cannot embark on this and need to focus on my new business so I have a number of performance spares and the spare engine that may be considered as a job lot for the right price, otherwise these will be sold separately. The other main work is the outer sill plate in front of the rear wheel has rusted on one side and is showing signs of bubbling on the drivers also, so these are probably best replaced as this is again a common problem. I removed the rear wing due to disintegration of the foam and was undecided about going for a smooth over or replacing it with something similar so currently the access holes are taped up to prevent any water ingress. The body issues are a result of it standing to long and my procrastination! over sorting it out as it was sound when the engine first let go on me. The engine is 3/4 unplumbed and all parts and fixings taken off are complete and boxed. She was fitted with a number of upgrades including the following. Samco Hoses Apexi Air Filter Mongoose Full Exhaust Led Tail lights (no comments) Mania Racing Deep Dish alloys (receipts provided purchased @ £1200) In addition to this and possibly forming part of a package I have the following. AMS Manifolds inclding gaskets Zedworld ECU Eprom upgrade Set adjustable Eibach Coilovers Brand new boxed 2" SMICS Semi Polished rocker covers 85% complete Lightened Flywheel Lightened Pulley Set including new Belts VG 30DETT ex auto engine complete (90K) would benefit valve work Stock Auto turbos need rebuilding Please feel free to contact e with any questions or photos you may require, I have posted the above images to give you a condition of the car as it stands now, I'm not going to hide any issues and any buyer must satisfy themselves of it's condition before coming to collect (trailer required) Any viewing is welcomed and I will do all I can to help with your questions. Cheers, Steve. I may be able to deliver the car to a buyer subject to location and hire of trailer/ mileage/ Time etc.
  4. Absolutely a business plan for at least 3 years, costed and realistic! If you cannot expand at home with perhaps a workshop in the garden (garden offices are very popular and acceptable for small businesses these days) then look for a unit on easy in/out terms or sub let as these often come in very cheap compared to committing to rent rates insurance etc, allowing you to return back to basics if needs be. Selling the Zed will only release initial capital so longer term losing it's "show" potential for customers may become a negative, although you could have a small showroom area for visitors. Either way a good position to be in if your booked up through next year as well, so congratulations for achieving that!
  5. Alright! I surrender, Chrome it is again! Thanks anyway chaps!
  6. The sites displayed fine on edge since I got the pc a couple of weeks ago, I haven't changed settings Although some recent updates entry on. Didn't particularly want to go to chrome, it also has issues with some sites and Google have enough info on me as it is!!
  7. So, windows 10 operating as it should....error ridden! And using the edge browser. The forum site is displaying as a text field with the gallery and advert images randomly placed. It was working fine one day then not the next. I am posting this via my Sony M4, which takes an age as you have to keep reviewing its predictive text, which is the worst software I have ever used! Please help! As I'm missing my daily fix..lol!
  8. I heard about that... in fact I've been considering a track day for the wife for her belated 50th!...might stir her up a bit..lol!
  9. That is such a cool! car, MB worlds a fantastic place to visit, the free museums quite innovative in t's layout (see the F1)and the track attacks and show are well worth watching. we took our lad up there for an under 17's driving lesson in an A45, I then treated him and the wife to a fast few laps in an E63...house points earn't. We will return again next year but take in the Brooklands museum as well.
  10. Started reading this thread this evening thinking what a great idea it was....only to quickly realise it was started last year! What a plonker! Looks a great trip, safe travels and keep the pics coming.
  11. MJP in Nottinghamshire and PowerZed (bought out Zedworld) in Bristol both offer good parts service for engines and Body, details can be found in the traders section of the forum. Whereabouts are you in Fareham? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?42-Official-Traders-Forums
  12. Cheers for that Gary! If yours isn't up with the finest Zeds in the Uk then for the majority of us...well, "were all doomed" I haven't seen your Zed in the Metal, but as others have said never a bad photo has appeared on this forum...I think it's exceptional, even if its been cut off at the back, Lol!
  13. Jag Duratec V6 would drop in nicely or is it strictly jap?
  14. Birthday greetings graham, have a great day!
  15. Feel sorry for that Zed, having had a nose bleed!
  16. I spend 80% of my driving time in commercial vehicles, so anything that brightens the day and puts a smile on my face gets my attention and as most of the things I can think of are probably illegal behind the wheel, a truck like the this would substitute nicely.
  17. Great proportions, looks better than the usual yank tanks...would love to turn up for a clients detail wiith that!
  18. probably the caretaker, religiously parking in "his" space no matter what!
  19. Ah! suddenly it all becomes crystal clear, Lol!
  20. And there's me thinking you had to be 10 years old to take a test in the US. The drivers got a few years under his belt, but I cannot begin to work out how he got to this situation given the space he must of had to work with, no doubt this will pop up on you nube sometime with a full explanation!
  21. Aw! don't be so mean Gaz, when do you think the last time their car was ever noticed, aside from when they bought it...we all need a little love and attention from time to time and frankly I would park in front of yours so I could look at it all day if I had the chance...by the way ever used picture rotate, Lol!
  22. Defo, although depends on the body kit it seems to have.
  23. I don't know how may of you caught this on the Beeb/Sky this morning, but a coming together via some questionable reversing by a driver in a lovely 280SL? and a Ferrari in the US...caught my eye because of the 300zx photobombing in the background. The funny thing that tickled me was the sign on the wall of the building behind the cars... perhaps he should have popped in first. Anyway..enjoy! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/37017712
  24. Absolutely love your truck and a great job with the Polishing. My boy wants me to get one now!
  25. Assuming the paint needs no correction after repaint then you need to think about what Polish to put on which will vary to the type of paint and colour for best shine. If this is afresh application then instead of waxing you might want to consider getting the paint properly sealed G technique or nanolex are stand out products and offer extreme protection of paint for up to a couple of years. Large 4x4 and trucks are always subject to a higher intensity of road grime particularly below the waste line and behind the arches, so i usually add something like Bilt Hambers Auto balm on customer cars for added weather protection...particularly in winter. Whatever you choose I would recommend adding a coating of Power maxed Summer jacket, which will seal the wax for a good few months and gives fantastic beading as well as offering ease of wash maintenance as very little can stick to the paint with this on. (winter coat available for, er!...Winter) I would also recommend Polished Bliss for advice and products and for further advice visit Detailing world.
