RIP Roger Moore
Personalty I think Daniel Craig has been the best Bond to date, but as a die hard Bond fan and having seen every one of the Moore films growing up as a teen it's sad to hear this news. For me also "Live n let die" remains my favourite of his films it also features the best soundtrack of any bond film to date. RIP Mr Moore. gone to join the Saints!

Ouch!
Always amazes me that so many of those in a position to buy these high end performance cars seemingly take no driver handling courses to familiarise and maximise the enjoyment the cars offer. Then the day they want to showboat as opposed to being normally intimidated by the performance is the day it catches them out.....amused by the scene of the boy band looking at the captured footage and I assume the owner on his own trying to pan out his excuse on the mobile. By the way I think that's a horrible colour choice for R8...

Great job...I hope you numbered those valves though!

Ouch!
More money than sense and with the benefit of Youtube, the "oh! something went wrong with the car" excuse won't wash with the insurers, not least Audi. So showboating for a couple of people. ooh! look i can go around roundabouts, ends with no car and no insurance claim. The drift boys often do this after Goodwood breakfast clubs, but at least they know how to control their cars.

My Hermes - useless tossers
I frequently use Parcels2Go to arrange various size deliveries and just used My Hermes for the ECU sold here...it was delivered and signed for on time, although i'm sure it was only for the fact i had everything crossed and included the insurance as I also have had big issues with them on delivery in and out before. Mind you that said, it is only for My Hermes that we are now getting real competition in the parcel freight business and I have had more issues with UPS than any other courier, personally I find DPD the best all round. Hope the contents were all ok?

300zx clubs on Facebook
I do have a business page @bow2bumper, I just didn't want to set up a personal one as I wasn't interested in Facebook. I don't know how large companies set up their FB page, surely the office junior at Halfords doesn't make a private page in order that the business can have one? By the way, I would welcome any feedback to help me with the Business page, I am not updating it much at the moment as I don't know how you get followers other than family/friends, but I have plenty of pics and info to put up sine the last post. Cheers, Steve

300zx clubs on Facebook
Thanks Fellas for the heads up, it seems they are mostly american clubs, which is not surprising! I don't embrace social media, not because i'm a bit old school (pick up the phone, meet up with a mate etc.) but i don't particularly get a kick from reading and watching everything some people do every moment of their lives (wannabe celeb and be noticed syndrome) but I do get the practical benefits of accessing like minded people who discuss the subject not the lives. I've had a couple of OK's from Club admins to access their Facebook pages so i'll have a mooch and see where it takes me. By the way is it just me or does Facebook have one of the worst GUI's on line?....

300zx clubs on Facebook
Ok! Your reading the scribes of a complete Facebook novice...I set up a page earlier this year for my Valeting business, although couldn't give it it's own page but had to run it through my own identity. I don't go on it or follow it very often (neither does anyone else it seems!) as notifications are from Facebook only, however as I know there is a good gathering of 300zx owners on there, could any of you recommend a couple of groups you participate in and how I can follow them. I have tried to navigate the site but frankly i think it's Cr@p! I've seen a couple of names I know on the market place so I must be in the right area...so any help for a Facebook dummy would be appreciated.:thumbup1:

My light modification thread
Very nice, but I would prefer to see the same diffused pattern on both, have you considered changing the brake as well to match?

Compression test
Will probably meet with a deluge of contradictions, but as the compression suggest your rings are in good nick they you may like to consider A Terra clean treatment, which is a full engine flush which will carbon clean the engine and injectors. You could also go for one of the many additives and then ensure your using a high octane fuel (Tesco momentum 99 is highly rated) N.B: I have used the Terra clean on diesel and petrol cars, never head issues and always gained an improvement in performance and engine running (all cars were over 10 years +)
-
Compression test
Spot on to high compression there, is it an older engine? as sometimes carbon build up can cause higher than expected figures, good thing is their not low so rings, valves and head all good= POWER!

Towing a 300
Surely towing weight on the license is for a trailer only, not combined weight of car and trailer also the drawback of an A frame tow bar is the towed vehicle will also clock rolling mileage without use! (may not be considered important to some)

Turbo?
Not for long Gaz, hes going to relist later with new pictures...and description i suspect!
-
Turbo?
I didn't know about the gauges, he said it was a TT and will post pics, but didn't think a n/a front would be stock for that year?
-
Turbo?
He says it's definitely a turbo model and will post pics tomorrow, so curious as too what happened to the front end to be changed? I seems to recall a discussion not long ago on here about another "turbo" model with an N/a front end, I don't think it was the same car though. Edit: just had another look at the images it doesn't have a turbo boost gauge either! Re-engined perhaps?

Turbonoz?
Sadly, it's the lack of knowledgeable and reasonably priced garages/ mechanics that means many Zeds don't get the attention they deserve, there not true classic status yet and the prices for work some "specialists" ask, doesn't often justify a vehicles value and unless you have enthusiastically deep pockets. My first discussions with a "specialist" about repairing my engine resulted in a rough quote, which was the same cost I had paid for the whole car only a few months earlier, would have loved to get it back on the road but my pockets weren't going to stretch to several thousand pounds! Unfortunately Jeff was the only engineer able to provide a high standard of service whilst trying to deliver value for the sake of the marque and in so doing was always in demand, of course helped by his location. It's just a shame the skill set for these cars isn't more widespread.

RIP John Surtees
Very sad news, a true racing legend, denied an knighthood that he so deserved for his services to Motorsport and charity! Had the pleasure of meeting him at Goodwood several years back when he launched the Henry Surtees trust (His Son Henry was sadly killed in a Formula Two race at brands when a loose wheel struck him). John was magnificent telling great stories of his CanAm days (which my son Paul questioned him on), even then at 80 this man was full of energy and had that great glint in his eye when he recalled his racing days. A genuine true Legend and a friend of the common man! RIP John Surtees.

RIP Bill Paxton
Such a shame, a big film career behind him as well, RIP!

Opinions on wide rear arches..?
Fantastic job, shame you couldn't create a base mould to work up from, great result though, factory should of offered this.
-
Opinions on wide rear arches..?
I have to say I think car mads is the perfect arch, as I have said before the rear arch needed to mirror the front by extending from the top of the wing without being bulbous and not an add on flare as most seem to be. The blue car is a good flare but it looks too flat over the top of the wheel and out of sorts with the front. Car Mad, what base arch did you use for this or was is it fabricated form scratch?

New Zed Owner - Whats The History??
