So whats the best ?

Truck was written off a few weeks back, salvage retained and all sorted now.

It was silver, but now a sorta burny orange !!!

Havent got around to waxing it after the repaint. Whats the recommendations ? Auto Glym / Meguiars / something else ?

Bearing in mind its the size of a bungalow !!!

Harley Wax is my current weapon of choice for the last coats of wax.

Me too, I really like it..... Easy to apply to the car and not hard to remove. You can feel the difference for ages after too:)

Dodo Juice Supernatural is hard to beat for price/result/ease of application.

Poorboys Nattys liquid blue is also a good shout.

If you're out of touch, have a ganders at http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk.

Loads of good information, and their prices are reasonable too. I tend to purchase most of my cleaning stuff from there, or Envy Detailing.

Assuming the paint needs no correction after repaint then you need to think about what Polish to put on which will vary to the type of paint and colour for best shine.

If this is afresh application then instead of waxing you might want to consider getting the paint properly sealed G technique or nanolex are stand out products and offer extreme protection of paint for up to a couple of years.

Large 4x4 and trucks are always subject to a higher intensity of road grime particularly below the waste line and behind the arches, so i usually add something like Bilt Hambers Auto balm on customer cars for added weather protection...particularly in winter.

Whatever you choose I would recommend adding a coating of Power maxed Summer jacket, which will seal the wax for a good few months and gives fantastic beading as well as offering ease of wash maintenance as very little can stick to the paint with this on. (winter coat available for, er!...Winter)

I would also recommend Polished Bliss for advice and products and for further advice visit Detailing world.

Cheers guys,

Take it my 25 year old tin of turtle wax is past it then ??:whistling:

Weather permitting I will get started this weekend !

Thanks again !!

Alan.........

I have tried a couple of Valet Pro waxes recently - and have to say I am impressed with both!

Beading Marvellous is just that; and dead easy to apply/buff off

Classic Gloss Protection is also a damned good product; but a little more work is required to buff it off

Both can be purchased for £30 or less, so good value to boot...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Tried 3 local Motor Factors and none of them stocked Harleys or Dodo. Even tried Halfords, but no luck.

So went for these......

Love the milk and juice vinyl

It's looking well big fella :)

I've got my own wee detailing business now, I would have recommended Gtechniq products, performance and durability is outstanding, the old wagon is looking well though.
