  1. Manic Street preachers played there in 2001, admittedly not quite the same headline act, but for Cubans. still a great event.
  2. Sad news, but he had let the world know it was impending. I liked Paul Daniels..."not a lot!" but i liked him. Another 90's broadcast legend has passed. RIP
  3. Teach me to not fully read the add!
  4. Sorry to hear about that, but 6 weeks old is very young to be given get any sort of treat toy, was it intended for another dog?
  5. Vauxhall Viva 1.6 HC 1972 in beige!!! .....before you laugh this was a 2 door, so must of been fast..............
  6. Nice overall and very positive if it sells a that price. not sure those seats have seen only 33K though?
  7. Amazed to see a year has passed since we lost Roobarb! I have often thought of Mandy's passing when hearing of other similar news as has been so often the case these last 12 months, they always served as a leveler when you consider your own circumstances. I think this remembrance is as much for Mandy as it is to show the type of community this club represents and that she so clearly enjoyed. Well done Committee!
  8. Frankly, one of the worst kits I have seen, partly because you would expect so much better from these guys! It looks like a mock up prior to being blended, not a finished article, it would have been better if it could be bonded, because there is no way you could walk out to your Zed every morning and smile at that. Most kit designers in my opinion miss the point at the rear. The Zed carries a pronounced arch on the front, which then slims almost flush to the rear (iv'e always been at odds with this!) I believe a higher hip on the rear would add to the cars potentially muscular stance, but the only way of doing this is extensive arch rolling or even a panel extension. (but not the awful bolt on apparels that are out there.)
  9. Here's hoping you get many many Led candles today Andy. :happybday:
  10. Nice weather, Nice Pub, Nice Car! Think your a bit early though Lol!
  11. Completely bespoke rear panel by looks, not my cup of tea, but a great variation to the Zed theme.
  12. So Lad's and Lasses what are your plans today? whatever they are they will require a bare minimum of at least 1 x text to mum (poor show) 1 x Card (bit late if you missed the post) and ideally some flowers and a nice lunch in or out... Unfortunately you will have to leave your garage and put the Zed down at some point to do any of these. Anyway to all the Mum's, Grand mums etc. A happy Mothers day with our Love.:thumbup::wub:
  13. seriously! take it on the chin and move on, unless you really think the club is worth so little against one miss handled sale. Dibs maybe a popular if casual way of lining up for a sale item, but a seller will be most likely looking at there PM box flashing before returning to a thread to see what interest has come up. If he already committed to another buyer then fair enough.
  14. Happy Birthday Andrew....pictures of cake required!
  15. This is your man! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/member.php?16664-phutumsch (Andy) has a real eye for detail in conversions for the rear and centre light sections. Search for some of his threads on here, but you will have to contact him via a post as you need to be subscribed to PM a member. Good Luck with it, Steve
  16. Thanks for the offer of help lads, I am sure with more hands the job would be much easier, but i still need to get the replacement engine up to scratch as it appears to have some valve leakage although it was sold to me as good to go. I know this in itself is not a big job but it is another bill to pay and time to find. Gaz your probably right, Sell it and move on, I posted the thread really to get some opinion as to whether it would be worth more breaking it (hate the idea) or selling as a project for someone else and which might ultimately be the financially stronger.!
  17. The car had supposedly had been subject to a full rebuild when i bought it, so i wasn't too impressed to have the bottom end go on me, although I felt there was a possible oil flow issue with the car, so probably my own fault to have pushed it on the occasion it let go. But whilst i was determined to put it back on the road and spent time getting replacements and upgrades to do the job, the more I looked it the less it appealed, particularly as issues with my business closing after 25 years have got in the way... I guess with these cars you either have time to form a bond that gets under your skin or as in my case a fleeting visit into something that I felt would be much more engaging. In my research prior to buying the car, the view point always came across as strong engines which can take potentially big power gains and yet when I purchased it I seemed to find more and more negative reports of poor cooling, blocked oil journals and particular issues with specific cylinders! In reality I was perhaps unknowingly being a bit selective in my research but having looked at several cars before heading to Edinburgh to buy J299, I felt I knew enough to make an informed choice. The car was serviced and checked over but within 6 months and 400 miles of running I had the engine go on me, since which it's been sat for nigh on two years waiting for me to sort it. The new business is picking up, but pressures from the past mean I need to still try to find additional income and I've probably put this off too long already...also got a moody 14 year old to deal with as the car was his bragging rights! lol! Capped this weekend with my BMW getting wiped out by a drunk driver the day before it was going up for sale and the wife taking a fall and now on crutches!, I have finaly lost patience.
  18. Ok! I have put this off as long as I can, but a decision needs to me made as to what I do with my LWB TT. The car has been sat on the drive (undercover) awaiting an engine change (big ends) and although I have purchased a spare engine (needs some valve work) and still have a number of performance upgrades which were going on it, I simply don't have the time or enthusiasm to undertake the work. I won't go into details but the last 18 months have been very difficult and every morning I look at this car and think it deserves so much better and as things stand I really need to free up space and cash to re invest into my new detailing business. So, given that this car is in overall good condition and as a repair would be sold with the spare engine and upgrades as a package would I be better off breaking myself given parts prices or sell as a whole. The car will need a new outer rear Cill, which has gone through since it's been standing! I have'n't looked in detail about any further issues, but at the moment I am looking for the forums opinions before a follow up with a for sale thread. Sadly! I never really got to bond with the car after only a short time of ownership before the engine let go, so my enthusiasm and other distractions have stopped my undertaking the work despite investing in Engine stands, engine lift and all the necessary spares. It really deserves better. Thanks, Steve
  19. One of my favourite ever bands, still fresh today, sad news, but lived his life well, RIP Maurice White
  20. Thought they ran on for too long the last time round, but might look in on it.
  21. That's smart, getting the shine is not a problem, but I've never seen Chromed stock wheels before, very nice!
  22. Testing in a couple of weeks...first indications on who's new, improved or back of the class!
  23. HDMI cabling has always been a bit of a minefield, the fall off in signal quality is usually described as a cliff (it's on or Off) HDMI standards have changed in the years from 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc to standard, High Speed and with or with or Ethernet, each meeting new technology and signal structure changes. 1.4 was released to deal with the passing of an Ethernet signals, 3D, Ir and Audio return as well as meeting the 4K resolution standards of modern TV, DVD signals. The 1.3 category cable is high speed but as you have found does not carry the audio return. There is no conversion available to upscale to a 1.4 category cable, but if you have run a spare Ethernet into your wall you can get a SPDIF converter for your audio return. More info here on HDMI http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_1_4/ When i install Home cinema or family room AV I sink trunking into the wall so I can pass cables through at will, I know it doesn't help now bet future proofing your cables for permanent install is the best way to go and for HDMI anyone considering a permanent fix should now be looking at 2.0 standard
  24. Shame! thought their was a new sport of sea jousting making it's debut!
  25. First heard Bowie in the 70's when my neighbours daughter blasted out the music of Ziggy stardust for all to hear...so different and as a youngster I couldn't quite get a handle on him. spanning the generations since, I don't think there has been or ever will be such an inventive and artistic artist. Brilliant!..... RIP Starman.
