  1. Tell the genius to get his grow gear out of his loft or put up some heavy duty insulation. Its rare that it happens but in certain areas the filth use the thermal imager in the helicopter/plane to cruise the area looking at peoples' roofs- the guys with grow gear stand out a mile cos it looks like their roofs are on fire
  2. Agreed, this site is more bloody addictive than World of Warcraft, cold turkey is the only way out.
  3. Its times like this that I envy the blind
  4. Try checking out the TVR forum. I'd heard TVRs could be unreliable but when I read their forum my jaw hit the floor. Some peoples engines need rebuilds before the 30K mark, others talk about engines throwing bearings or busting their big ends during normal driving. Admittedly from the factory they have the best engine note of any car.
  5. I am enjoying work, I get paid to test computer games all day :nana2: :nana2: :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:
  6. Heres my take on the situation, i lived in Stoke for six years, right near Festival park: 1- I know how bad the A500 is, it twists all over the place and is covered with slip lanes that have inadiquate distance, it is also extremely busy, if he was driving at 90 down that road then he is an absolute plank. 2- Some of the night coppers in Stoke are from Stafford, and they practically wear nazi insignias, they are some of the worst, most millitaristic coppers in the country, ive been stopped and given multiple producers for the heinous crime of 'looking young', ive also been dragged out of my car at 4 in the morning and told 'that i shouldn't be driving at that time', when I questioned this I was threatened with a speeding ticket (I wasn't even remotely speeding at the time)- that lot of coppers would have no problem with sending down someone just cos they don't like the look of them and they'd bend the rules to do it. 3- That road is absolutely covered with cameras, as is all of the surrounding area, chances are the police had plenty of video evidence that didn't help his case. 4- That is an absolute travesty of justice, whether he was racing or not is irrelevant, when the judge says: "The plain and simple fact is that, had you not chosen to race him, he would not have driven as he did. I'm afraid that racing is a feature of high culpability in this case." he is talking out of his arse, the fiesta driver was so reckless and stupid that with a dodgy back tyre and people in the car, he tried to race a 200sx. He almost certainly would have driven that stupidly anyway, if he hadn't killed himself that night, it would have been the next. The deaths in the fiesta are the responsibility of the fiesta driver. 5- The courts in that area are terrible as well, I saw a man get a suspended sentence for getting beaten up by two coppers. He thought someone trying to wake him up was assaulting him and he called to the cops for help, instead of helping they proceeded to beat him black and blue. They even said that they struck him 3 times on the back of the leg, the photographic evidence of his beating said otherwise. I thought it was open and shut- I was gobsmacked when the victim was the one who got punished.
  7. I recently found out my sills have rusted through, I know zcentre do outer and inner panels but my inner-inner panels are rusty as well. On one side the rust goes as far as a subframe mount which I think is structurally sound (fingers crossed). Rather than weld plates in to replace such a structural part I'm thinking of welding a couple of steel girders into each side, they'll be heavy but they'll be strong.
  8.      Next time, you should fly right off the handle and furiously demand compensation for the damage to your rock.
  9. I'm not surprised, have you seen that documentary series called 'Catterick'? No way in hell I'm going there, seems like everyone in the town is a nutter.
  10. ah, but mcdonalds did claim that its food was perfectly healthy, and that someone could live off it and suffer no adverse affects. How many kebab shops make the same claim?
  11. This is probably no use to you, but for anyone who's listening- Just went from M25 11 to 10, shock horror! it was ok (by ok i mean 60). A3 southbound is no worse than usual (mile tailback going into guildford)
  12. The prices they have completely exclude everything, thats why they seem cheap, once you add conversion, re-registering, shipping etc. they're just as expensive as everyone else. I asked them how much for one car, the reply said it had been sold but it didn't answer any of the other questions I asked. I emailed them again with some details, asking them for a price on another car, I got no-repsonse at all. I really liked the look of one of their cars and would have been all set to buy, but since they couldn't be bothered to answer emails I took my business elsewhere.

LWB all the way, you see some of us have more than 0 mates and those back seats come in handy. (cue jokes aboot what Im doing in the back seat with my mates):
  15. I agree WD40 is probably best, you could also try some panel wipe. To rub it off use a dry tea towel, if you rub hard enough the cloth of the towel will create an abrasive effect and it won't damage the paint. You'll know if you're rubbing hard enough because the tea towel will be ruined.
  16. If someone wasted my time like that I'd go back there with a screwdriver and crowbar, by the time I'd finished with the car they wouldn't be able to sell it to a blind man. (Btw. don't ever burn them- you don't want insurance coming to the tw@ts rescue)
  17. Damn right, and their records are about as accurate as a train timetable. Barstewards even tried to hijack the domain name DVLA.com off a company in America, although they did get a good telling off: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/01/07/dvla_fails_in_reverse_domain/ :nono:
  18. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/perfectwave.html
  19. Only the first one's free, after that I charge Actually- I just described my own car, leaving out the rotted sills (I figured with mexico's climate, his would probably be in good condition)
  20. True- you got me there btw. its sill(s)- plural, both of them have rusted through    Dunno why I'm laughing, I have to make new sills and subframe mounts
  21. Headers usually cost loads, they're often left till later in the upgrading cos you have to pay a lot for the return you get. Most people start with a performance filter/intake and a performance exhaust. From there I'd go for decat pipes and then look at a remap or chip for your ECU, this is usually accompanied by boost jets or a boost controller, both of which will up your turbo pressure and give more bhp. However, given the age and history of your car I'd get your turbos inspected beforehand and probably reconditioned, also get some new turbo hard pipes as well as radiator pipes and replace as many hoses as you can find with some good quality replacements. If you can, find a specialist who knows about zeds, he might be able to judge what kind of condition your autobox is in by driving it. Additionally- get a mechanic to check the bushings under the car, a propshaft bearing may also be needed as these are a wear point on zeds.
  22. Some of us are- ummmmmmmmmmmmm ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ummmmmmmmmmmm my crystal ball says: your wiring harness is getting a little brittle and old, your electrical connectors are dirty and need cleaning, your intercoolers are looking a little tired, as is your radiator. Your viscous fan is starting to crack, there is a little bubbling near the top of one of your targas, the bolster of your drivers seat is very worn, when you get the car up to speed the back end feels a little loose. I also predict that if you like driving fast in the rain then you face impending doom!!! How am I doing so far? (Btw. welcome to the forum)
  23. Very good point, obviously the large tanks would take up too much space, I was thinking about one of the toroidal tanks that goes in place of your spare wheel. Although this would intrude on boot space and then Im not sure where the spare would go (especially if you've replaced your jaffa cake with a factory OEM wheel).
  24. Er... if you read my post on the previous page you might find:
