Paint suppliers- south east
Can anyone recommend a paint supplier around the Guildford area? (or somewhere thats close to the M25) I have tried those Autopaint international people and they don't answer the phone/email, and after placing my order I have heard exactly zip/nada/nothing. Driving my spare is doing my nut, and I'd really like to get this car finished. Thanks in advance.

free tea and biscuits !!
Yeah my cars running (my car runs real rough but it has to do with faulty MAF/vacuum leak, although I know for a fact that it doesn't misfire), I was going to do an ECU diagnostic but when I got out there I found the car had flattened its battery :headvswal . Come get mine/bring yours round, either way is good for me, I'm free late evenings (I get home from work about 19:00) during the week and Im free next weekend, the weekend after that I have to go and get my engine but I may be able to spare a few minutes. Btw. If you're unabe to pm me then just post on this thread again asking for my email and I'll stick it up

I'd be willing to lend you mine for a day, although I'm not sure how well it works, there's a multitude of problems with my car and I don't think its the ECU (I spose you could do an ECU diagnostic when you stick it in your car). I can't be bothered to drive anywhere so you'd have to come get it and bring it back. My car is a 91, H reg, TT auto. Btw. I live in Hindhead, just down the road from the infamous Hindhead A3 traffic lights.

2 questions thats all
oops, my bad, I assumed that was what you meant - its an idea ive had for a while now, if the boost is turned down the thermal efficiency of the engine won't be quite as good and we'll have less power than an NA cos of our low comp pistons. But turning the boost off would allow a zed to run on LPG, admittedly there would be very little boot space left but the prospect of an equivalent 40mpg is quite attractive. Ive heard LPG runs a bit hot on normal turbo cars, so I shudder to think what would happen at 9psi with the kind of engine temps we generate.

2 questions thats all
1. If you wait about a month you can have a look at mine, by then it'll be finished and I'll be dying to show it off 2. Not many, its worse economy than my 4.0 Jag, but you can get it about equal if you drive the zed VERY carefully. m0n1xX3r probably has the best idea- turn your boost down and amend fuelling to suit. Im thinking of having a 2psi map for commuting, a 9psi for normal driving and maybe a scramble up to 13.

NZR - Replacing PC processor
Never ever used one myself, been tinkering since 96, having said that I knew a guy who blew his new hard drive cos of static (either that or he was lying to cover his clumsiness). Daves_new_z- don't worry bout overclocking it too much, just make sure your bios temp alarms are set so that you get an alarm and automatic shutdown before anything melts. Just remember you can't actually overclock very many MHz before you start to generate more heat than your fans can get rid of, a couple of hundred quid spent on water cooling should help- search for something called a 'zalman reserator', I hear they're dead easy to install.

Funny Vid's
Was wondering that myself, they always take the videos down if people die in them, but I don't see how he could have survived. On a lighter note: http://www.big-boys.com/articles/blowhorn.html

Funny Vid's
Of all the video sites I find that one the quickest and best, site name sure looks dodgy when your sending the links to your mates. Other good ones include http://www.Kontraband.com, http://www.stupidvideos.com, and of course ebaumsworld.

im so bored
If you got any of the green stuff lying around that works a treat, hurts your throat a bit but it takes away the horrible 'ill' feeling for a while.

door innards
SNAP!!! Sounds like you and me might have the same problem. I have no response from my central locking and my left door electric window doesnt work (my motorized mirros do). Dunno what alarm the previous owner had in, but I know it had a lot of connections from all the wiring stumps in my car. Same with my ICE- just a stump, speakers and radio obviously arent hooked up. Andyz suggested this is the wreckage of a total closure alarm. To fix it I'm just gonna give my car to a nearby auto electrician and say 'sort it', he charges £40 an hour but it shouldn't take more than a day, if I strip the interior first that might make it easier.

Stats on 300zx's for sale on Autotrader...
I bought mine for £1900, does that give you some idea what condition it was in? Funnily bought it from the same guy thats advertising a 'genuine' 30000 mile car for £2,795, the genuine 40000 car I bought actually had 150K on the clock. He seems to have changed his name since I met him (but not his phone number), he also left so little petrol in the tank that we were unable to take the car out on the motorway (and hence notice the ridiculous EGR leak that makes the car look like its got an underbonnet fire). Before anyone asks, yes I knew it was a lemon- thats half the reason I bought it.

Roads - Pay as you go scheme
Agreed, look at the identity card thing, people hate the idea, so they're going to introduce it bit by bit. First it will be non-compulsory and will be used to claim benefits etc. Then it will be compulsory to have (which we'll have to pay for I might add), then as soon as the next big terrorist incident happens it will be compulosry to carry them for reasons of security. Apparently they want the same thing to happern with PAYG roads, first truckers, then big cities, then everywhere.

Roads - Pay as you go scheme
I believe so, but its my contention that even if they did judge the matter illegal, the judgement of illegality would be completely ignored by our government just like our recent additions to our terror laws. I think the EU humans rights convention has become essentially toothless, look at Burma massacaring its own people, all they got was a couple of sanctions that weren't even enforced.

stirring up the SXOC again!!!

Have you heard about the scandal to do with foreign inspections? China has been inviting foreign officials to factories to show other countries that they're not merciless slave drivers. Only they get shown factories that are in good condition, and before the inspectors arrive up to 80% of the workforce are sent home to hide the overcrowding, and the ones that are left are told what to say under penalty of redundancy. The workers love these inspection days because for some of them its the only day off they have all year- Roads - Pay as you go scheme
True, but we don't have to pretend they're the EU's new best friends when they're still committing offences that are considered 'tyranical' when commited by other regimes, regimes that we subsequently remove with force. (George Bush- if you're reading this I mean YOU aswell).- Roads - Pay as you go scheme
True china isn't part of the EU but brussels has no problem rolling out the red carpet for them and strengthening our ties (they even might get rid of the arms embargo), yet their humans rights record hasn't improved since tiananmen square. The funniest thing I think is the way Bush is doing the same thing, after all his talk about 'freedom' and 'liberating people' he then goes and jumps straight into bed with the Chinese PM. They still have child labour and factories where people are effectively 'slaves', we're losing half our production industry because they can afford to work people for £5 a day without having to spend a penny on health and safety. Also that civil contingencies bill would technically allow the government to bring in riot police to deal with the next fuel protest (I doubt they will-yet). Im up for a revolution- I call 'el presidente' though, the rest of you will have to divide up the cabinet up amongst yourselves- Roads - Pay as you go scheme
It used to bother the EU, nowadays they turn a blind eye if you've got money or are powerfull (China), and our government is getting very good at paying no attention. Our civil contingencies bill (along with most of the laws we've passed since 9/11) tears up human rights, sets fire to them and throws them in the bin, despite all the protest and the fact that its highly illegal it was still passed. - Roads - Pay as you go scheme
