Damn crappy fuel
Bought a tank full of Esso fuel at the weekend and the car hates it with a vengeance. Detonating and hiding in safety boost all the time - Had to go and buy some octane booster to finish the tank off. YEUCH! For info - it was the Esso garage in Burscough at the junction of the Ring 'O Bells Road in Merseyside, North West England. I wonder if we should have a thread on good/bad fuel experiences and name the garages so people can either avoid or remember to fill up at. I tend to find the Shell Garage on the A59 in Maghull in Merseyside, North West England has given me the most consistent fuel. And they sell Optimax. Why dont we name and place all the higher octane stations as well? Just a thought. horrid horrid fuel.

Just have to tell someone my University Woes
I would suggest you use the telephone and talk to the man - so much more helpful than an email - Find out why he cant help you. Also write a letter to the university NOW telling them of your problem - that way you have let them know as soon as you realised you had a problem - you may get an extension but at least you will have a feather in your cap for being honest - they appreciate that. Good luck

Replacing the Fuel filter!
It should be the same procedure, but try this... As you look into the engine bay - on the left hand side at the back is a set of fusible links - the fuel pump link is in that bank - remove the green link and then start the engine - let it run till it cuts out, then do the filter. Dont forget to put the link back in when you have finished.

Overtaking gripe...
I keep a list of the 'loonies' I come across when I go to work - if I get the chance I show em what for. I hate :- People who gap hop from one car to the next - all the way down the road. People who dodge in and out of the other lane trying to get past but never go for it. People who expect others to get out of the way when they overtake onto the wrong side of the road. People who drive up your backside to go faster (hello cruise control) steam past and then dawdle along. People who drive up your backside in 30 or 40 zones and then chicken out in the de-restricted stuff. People who make their car wide by going over the white lines to discourage you from overtaking (never works) But it does make life amusing.

Advise Please
MY feeling - avoid it unless you have deep pockets to get it all realigned, fixed and re-sprayed.

1999 S-reg Zed £13k!
For a TT yes...maybe but that looks like an N/A harder to sell at that price.
-
SWB TT value
This is a sore point at the moment. ~There are 2 prices for our cars..... The one we want The one its worth on the current market. A 'H' reg isnt going to sell if its over 6k simple. Too many models about to choose from.

Fuel Filters
I really dont think theres any benefit to changing the filter as its all pressurised anyway for injection - maybe if it was still mechanical it might help......Save your money.

Slick50
Dupont - who basically own teflon tried to stop companies using its product in this way as they said it wouldnt work and could be detrimental to the engine - They lost the case. Just dont do it - Change your oil regularly (every 3000 miles) and put some good oil in there. If its not been done for a while then change it now and then change it again in 3 weeks time - changing the filter at each oil change. You are wasting money if you use it. Really you are!!!!!

Advice Please!
As an auto owner - yes - you are correct about the turbos spinning constantly as you dont need to let off the gas - the turbos arnt stressed as much as in a manual. The 0-60 difference is minimal - about 3 tenths......The reason being is that Nissan didnt just bung an auto box onto an engine like most manufacturers do - they changed the engine to match it. Hence the eralier post of smaller turbos - they spool up quicker than the manual ones. You will also find that the 0-100mph is a bit quicker than the manual. But the manual is easier to tune up as you only need to uprate the clutch whereas on the auto you need to uprate the whole box and its a bit pricey....Good luck

300zx forum members
Thats a disgrace - the forum will probably be banned from Billing next year - I hope whoever did it gets caught. Makes me embarrassed to own a 300zx and be associated with this kind of rubbish. Grow up and get a life - sell your 300zx and dont come back. We dont want this.
