Dull Dash - fixed
It could be that someone wanted to make the light blue-ish in colour? You do know that you can adjust the brightness of the dials with a rocking switch?

servicing
For the Spark Plugs they should be PFR6B-11 Air filter you need 2 by the way - Phone a Nissan Dealer Tools - spark plug socket - some spanners, and some patience. A new Motor - Either Andy on here who has a link on the site for spares or Nissan.

Worst drivers....
I dislike the fools who want the 30 foot space in between you and the car in front - then they hop in and out of the traffic all the way down the road - total winkers. Its the one time I speed up to make them go past the next car as well - they only do it once. I like my gap! Roundabouts - dont start me on them - If I ever get hit thats where it'll happen - someone will straight line it and go right into me - I've been up on top of roundabounts to avoid them in the past!

Skyline - Bwahahahahaha!!!!
As we are on the topic of brakes - which component is it that makes the ZX brakes so poor - we share the same calipers and pads as the R32 Skyline - is it the Master Cylinder thats not up to the job? or is it the discs that arnt big enough?

tickover
It could be the TPS not being adjusted correclty - try resetting the ECU as well - see if that cures it. I have seen similar problems if the TPS is adjusted on the car while the engine is running and it confuses the ECU and idles at high values. Failing that it may just be the base idle needs adjusting - but you have to disconnect the idle control as it will compensate! Plenty of write ups on how to do all those things.

No wonder the brakes are crap
I knew that - I've had EBC Greenstuff that where for a Scooby on mine....perfect match. Wasnt impressed with the pads tho!! We also have the same pad as the R32 Skyline.

my water leak: they think it's this... comments? And where to get hose kit and clutch
I think when people jump to the 'engine out' philosophy its possibly a warning that they dont really know for sure and if its not what they first thought they've wasted their time on it and so its easier to pull the engine in case its something else. That or they dont know there are other ways of getting to the obscure parts - which proves they dont work on these cars at all. If you dont mind paying the extra - make sure you get other things done like Andy said to at least make it worthwhile to have the engine out so you arnt here again if something else goes!

Shift At Will
IF you have a TT then you may lose the HICAS as its part of the steering wheel - The cruise control as well would need to go somewhere else. A few people here have found replacements that allow the HICAS to stay - have a search around.

Fuel Addatives
Also it seems that Middlehurst Nissan (Skyline tuners and a good garage) have noticed an increase in the number of O2 sensor failures and Optimax usage..... I'm not gonna run this in my car anymore as an everyday fuel - the opinions I've read seem to suggest the cleaning properties might be harmful over time.

Fuel Addatives
What a thread! So from this comment -: The base for Opt is PUL, but it is treated very differently from the other fuels, taking out some of the denser compounds in the final cracker (which they tell me is only used on the opt) as the fluid moves along the process they heavy stuff is replaced with manganese which has been compounded with either Xylene or Toluene (I think the former) further additives join the party and we get opt. asked whether they understood that people are putting things like NF in their opt, the response was simple, (I am paraphrasing) 'Why bother, we don't spend millions on doing this just to get the same effect as a tin of 'off the shelf' stuff, if you want to do that then just use SUL and play games with that' This would explain a lot of things I've noticed - I have an import. Optimax does indeed prevent detonation as it would seem to act in the same way as an off the shelf octane booster. Super Unleaded doesnt seem to reduce detonation but would give better efficiency and mpg I'm gonna run some tankfuls of each through my car and make notes. It would also seem that for us Jap imports - when we change fuels we should reset our ECU's so that it learns the way the fuel burns, and not chop and change from Unleaded, Optimax and Super.

Should rear wheels turn when doing a 3 point turn?
Theres been lots of debate on when HICAS comes on - I think Henri did a test quite a while ago with an LED hooked up to the system to see when it was on - it was used a lot more than was first thought at speeds lower than first thought too. I cant remember if it was on here or on tt.net.

Spark Plugs
You cant just come on here and post that without a PROPER explanation! For people to trust your judgement and change from platinums to coppers is a big step and if you ask anyone in a garage they will say dont do it - so make your case and persuade us why - bearing in mind the cost is of no importance. We want to know if they stand up to day in day out running - change intervals, durability etc. Its a lot to trust a £6000 motor for saving a few quid on plugs.

Vauxhall Corsa
You're asking US what we think of a Corsa.....Well its a cheap car I suppose. Nope - thats it really, cant think of anything else

Removing Fog/Driving Lamps
I've got an import - its a 5 min job - The screw you are turning is the aiming screw! _ I made the same mistake at first. You need to remove the indicator lens just to the side of the fog lamp - when this is out you can get at the retaining nuts on the inside of the bumper right behind the fog lamp - When you have undone these - it just pulls out from the front.

Auto box delivery help
I wonder if the TPS is at fault here? Might be worth a check with a multimeter to make sure it registers properly and smoothly?

SOS Saftey BOOST HELP
The guage not going past 0 is your give-away. If you can get another gauge to check it then do so - but it looks like one of 2 things - a turbo problem - or a boost leak - with the engine running have a listen under the bonnet to see if you can hear anything.
-
TVR vs Z
When the engines where at full boost they would only do a few laps and then they melted - Typically they where only at this level during qualifying. But there are stories of Our Nigel chasing down a car with full boost - but then engine blew up coz of the strain.
