  1. OK First things first.............. This thread is not about what you prefer to drive. Its about the price difference between an auto and a manual of the same spec. So... lets just assume its a 1995 Ser4 TT Slicktop. Secondly lets assume the other specs are all identical and Factory. So... if the Auto is worth/being sold at ..say £3K How much more(if any) is the same car in manual form.??? And is there a difference between factory manwell spec and "converted later"??? Im fairly sure its worth more but by how much??? Sits back.............................
  2. No it didnt you are right it finished 4th in Club class. 1.37.154 against the winning Evos 1.34.866 It does look very smart. Maybe with the right driver????? Just over 2 seconds adrift.
  3. I hate to think wot would happen if you got a Zed as well!!! yes I always wondered wot happened to that nice quiet lad that came to see me all those years ago:huh:
  4. Not affected. Thats all behind the pulley. Are you TT or NA???
  5. Its not all about numbers Quality matters too:thumbup1:
  6. During the only 30 minutes I wasnt at home today Yodel Couriers tried to deliver a small pkt. Fiat Punto brake pads. Typical you are in 11.5 hours outta 12 and thats when they come. But it gets worse He leaves a calling card WITHOUT PUTTING the TRACKING NUMBER on it, so now i cant arrange a redelivery cos you need that tracking number.:gun_bandana::gun_bandana: The only alternative is to wait in a call queue for over 10 minutes on a premium number phone line. i have just sent a message to the Ebay seller to request the number from them. Lets hope they have it. Whatever happens the pads wont be here for the weekend when I needed them. So if you see a YODEL man and his van tomorrow please ram him and tell him how unhapy I am.:rant::rant: RANT OVER
  7. Congratulations on buying a proper 300ZX:yes::yes: Slicktops rule:rockon:
  8. SOLD!!!! Very good price indeed at the end. BTW.. Not sold to me:no:
  9. Even if there are some undisclosed issues at that sort of money its a bargain. i know he has it as a 92 car but that airbag probably makes it a ser 3 ie a 93 year model. Plus I know someone with a few spares if you needed anything for it.
  10. FFS Dave!!! Just buy it. Sort the manwell bit out later.
  11. +1. I even have all the kit to make it manwell:bow:
  12. STOP IT GARY. I have just bought another car this week already... now i have run out of space to keep anything else it £1500 quid. series 2 velour + alcantara. grey std paint. Looks stock all over and in goodish condition. It finishes later today!!
  13. I looked at that last night Gary. Its shocking how little the rare cars like this are making. And in a few years this will be the new 240Z If I hadnt so many other cars would have gone to look at this. Its only down the road from me in birminham
  14. Unless they are a girl!! LOL!!:nono: :rofl: You have PM BTW
  15. Wow!!! A major project then. Are you using all the rearsubframe and suspension too??
  16. Even if you had 2 GTRs they still wouldnt have what that Honda has....
  17. Billing I think as opposed to Peterborough venue. its like the Petrolheads NW car in its colour???
  18. Where about are you on the Costa?? I have been coming to fuengirola for the last 15 years and the only 300ZX I ever saw was ONCE in Madrid. That is one seriously nice car..
  19. Or alternatively a SWB and a one piece prop. Cos as far as your neeeds are concerned the prop is the only difference between LWB and SWB 300ZX. IMO you will find the conversion much easier with a one piece prop, rather than fabricating and welding suitable mounting points to the middle of your shell to support the two piece prop. they are available from Zedworld
  20. Options are...........Buy DIY overhaul kits for the turbos. buy exchange rebuilt turbos. Buy some used known to be good turbos. Buy some new aftermarket turbos. As Baz already said nice mota... shame about the smoke. LOL!!
  21. Dont be so hard on yourself. Yes you were under prepared, but not woefully so. But Bob n me were as well and we had plenty of time to prepare. Likewise we learnt a huge amount on the day. And what you didnt catch up with I fill fill you in on when you get back from holiday.. As Paul C has already said you have had the courage to get out there and do it. Nobody said it was going to be easy and there are no on line user manuals to tell you in advance how/what to do. we found it equally difficult, and thats with double the man power you had available. Just keep in mind the fact that virtually nobody on this forum has ever used their car for any type of serious motorsport.. Now where did you put that Nissan jack when we needed it??:whistling: Talk to you soon.
  22. Thanks Dave. FYI we have been to Cadwell 6 weeks ago on a track day shakedown Bob did a 1.45s lap then. The BIG difference with time attack is you have 15 minutes to do it in and there are 20 + other guys out on track trying to do the same thing at the same time. On a track day you have all day to get one hot lap. Everyone seemed pretty civil and well behaved on track but its only a narrow track. That Evo IS rapid... believe me... Bob's lady Martina came trackside for the final two sessions and although she had never been that close to cars doing that type of speed before in her life even she remarked how quick it was. All the cars go a little slower on the pit straight where I was to the top straight in the country but even so they are passing within 2/3 metres of you at around 120mph. Its quite an exciting experience. Martina was apprehensive at first and jumped back on the first pass of cars at full chat. The main limit is the size of your wallet. The other limit on track is your ability and whether the car is fitted with a "wallet brake" or not. Bob's car and many others have one fitted. Others seeminly dont.
  23. Yep its a full monty monster.. Complete severn valley team in attendance on the day. Digital trackside timing. Walkie talkie communication etc etc. BIG BIG budget. And he is entered in CLUB class!!!! I heard a paddock figure of £60K on engine work. Cant confirm or deny that. I was beside the team leader on the pit wall for one of the sessions. How did it do........ 4th overall in club class. Best lap 1.37s Fastest club class thru the main straight speed trap with a 148.8mph pass!!! For any of you who dont know Cadwell that is one SCARY speed along what is laughlingly known as the main straight:laugh:
  24. Few more.... I Need that Porsche too!!!!! Finally... I think Bob might be along with some "in car" footage.
  25. More pics. This Time Attack game is attracting big money budget people.
