  1. nope!!! ... Its the complete Twinz bumper:smartass::smartass::smartass: As far as Bob and me know its the only one in the Uk. Unless someone "off forum " has one
  2. So I have been busy cleaning and polishing today. Stripped out the rear brakes on one side. New discs and pads are now on order. EBC grooved from luke at Z centre. Ferodo DS3000 race spec pads from a Ferodo specialist.. Front pads have plenty of meat on them.the discs are as new. Alll 4 Michelin Pilot sports are good and we will be using these as the "wet tyre" option on the Time Attack. Toyo 888s are Bobs choice for the "dry" race option. I am picking up a TT fan shroud from Jeff tomorrow.Fitting this weekend. If I get time next week i hope to fit an ally front undertray to smooth out undercar airflow and channel more air thru the radiator. So I coulnt resist posting up up a pic of a very clean and shiny Slicktop:biggrin:
  3. Thanks guys.:flowers: Better get one bought then!!:sweatdrop:
  4. As per title ..... Whats the score with a koyo type rad and a stock TT cowl??? 1. it doesnt fit. 2. It fits fine 3. You need to mod it. 4 A Fiat Punto one fits.... etc etc Help, advice, facts, pictures... offers of help......:balloon: i need to get something organized on Bobs car while its at my place. Its downright dangerous as it is and more importantly not at all efficient:blink:
  5. So today at Cadwell Park............................................................ was a good day. Very few cars on track. In fact it was like having a private test day for a few friends. Weather was dry all day although the track was damp and a bit slippy up to lunch break. in trhe afternoon the sun came out and coupled with the wind the conditions were perfect. With only me and Bob there I could sit in as passenger as much as I wanted . I lost count of the laps we did. The car is runnning beautifully and for a road based car it handles and brakes really well. top speed along the two shortish straights was around 140 in the damp morning session rising to 150-160 in the afternoon. difficult to be precise from the passenger seat. Trying to take pics at speed with a cheap didital pocket camera doesnt really work but Bob had the in car video cam running and will probably post up some footage whan he gets time later this week. We might be able to see some estimated lap times for comparison with Time Attack cars too. Its very difficult to judge how fast the car is in the real world of track days. We were well beaten by a Scooby today BUT with 480BHP, four wheel drive and a weight of 1100kg we were going to be. Oh its not a road car either.. i think Bob will enter the Cadwell round but in the meantime i have a few jobs to do on the car under the heading "general fettling". I also need to change the rear pads and maybe discs as we wore them down to the metal today:w00t:
  6. Bob didnt run NOs at the Silverstone track day and TBH the car doesnt really need it. It now pulls strongly thru all the gears. I didnt notice any lag on power delivery. Thats probably cos Bob doesnt use less than 4000 revs .... anywhere:innocent: I think he just likes the sound it makes when it starts to cut out on the rev limiter. I will do a report next week after Bob n me have been to Cadwell on Sunday for those who are interested. i will be at the Time attack round too. Every racer needs a team Gofer:smartass::smartass:
  7. Any more seats on your flight for someone with the same result??? .......................................................Oh!!!! Where are you going:lol:
  8. Dan told me the data log showed 153mph in fifth on Hangar just before it all went circular. Initially i thought we were doing about 70 but maybe it was nearer 100mph. I wonder if anyone anywhere caught it on video??? "pretty exciting" doesnt really come close.:sweatdrop:
  9. Welcome to the forum Dan. Its only taken me two years to persuade you to sign up:yes:
  10. Today was an open pit lane track day at Silverstone using the full GP circuit(and pit facilities) so I went along as usual to meet up with BobGenie and ride shotgun in his slicktop. We were surrounded by lots of expensive high powered machinery. 911 Turbo S to one side. GT3 RS to the other. a pair of very quick Bms two pits away etc. The slicktop drew many admiring looks and comments and didnt look out of place at all. With a refreshed engine just installed by Dan Turner's advanced Motorsport workshops near Silverstone the car was on blistering pace. Several guest passengers had rides with Bob in the morning. After lunch Bob was really on it ... so I sat in for a couple of sessions to encourage him to take it to the limit. Which he did... with a 180 deg pirouette in my first session:sweatdrop: Just demonstrating that Michelin Pilot sports are brilliant on the road but have their limitations on the track. The car is very quick and has loads of torque especially out of the corners. I saw speeds in the 150,160mph range down the straights. The day ended very very rapidly when the car unexpectedly broke away at over 70mph on the entry to a tight bend. It threw us into TWO full 360deg spins in a heartbeat and ended up stationary in a cloud of smoke...... thankfully the "smoke" was actually steam from a burst water pipe(I think). However neither of us new that as we came to a halt. so two "old blokes" made a very rapid exit from the slicktop!!:surrender: It looked like water had spewed all over the front tyres causing the spin. The recovery truck was soon onhand to remove the car back to the pits. We should find out from Dan this week what actually burst. thankfully no damage externally to the car and the engine is still running. Enjoy the pics........ .
  11. Oh Yes!! Well done to you both. It will change your lives........for the better:balloon:
  12. OOOOH! So it is. I have just paid too.:nana2:
  13. Im waiting too!!!!!!:whistling:
  14. Hey Tim. Sorry to hear about some of your news. Gimme a call on 07778 411568. I dont think I have your number?? My powder coater is currently doing some classic Minilites for a 240Z project. im sure he can get your Turbines re done. He was showing me some new (very subtle) colours etc.
  15. NA and TT engine blocks. Are they the same??? Ie can you rebuild a TT engine with a duff bock using an NA block.???? All the rest of the TT engine is useable so question relates to bare block really. Anyone know???
  16. Well go and have a look ....Its only 20mins away from you.:sneaky2: As Smithy says it aint worth what he is asking but.......
  17. The main problem all 260Zs suffer from is the fact that they arent 240Zs this particular 260Z you have linked to is a 2+2. That is IMO considerably less desirable than a 2 seater 240 or 260Z However if your budget wont run to a 240Z then it does look in good condition. here is a pic of my current 240Z(for sale) The profile from the side is much sharper than the 2+2. all the above of course is my personal viewpoint as a fully committed 240Z man thru n thru.
  18. Yep:yes: Bought it from Canvey Island as spares or repairs. Removed a few goodies from it and sold it on to Paul who was then opertating as South West Zeds.
  19. Its been on an extended tour of Britain.... all on a trailer. Canvey Island Nottingham Rooks Bridge. Leighs house... and now North Wales.
  20. The 151 that I linked too is the updated 150 at the same price. All three clarke weders have a 13a plug on them and just plug in. You simply dont need anything more powerful. In fact you only need the 1 and 2 power settings for car bodywork. Its not a cheap exercise getting set up but the equipment will last for years or will sell on 2nd hand . Welder... say £299 for a 151. Reactive mask. £49. Regulator and mid sized Argoshield bottle.. ??? Reels of wire are cheap at Machine Mart.as are their leather gauntlets.
  21. These are much cheaper than before. Around £50 gets one... brilliant piece of kit. I have this clarke welder. .....http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/151te-turbo-mig-welder Does all car stuff and thicker steel too
  22. NEVER..NEVER renew ANY insurance policy without firstly running it through the comparison sites. You will ALWAYS get it cheaper.
  23. I was kinda joking really but thanks for the PM:flowers: At least you know how to send them:lol: Welcome to Subscribed membership:rockon:
