Bobgenies Time Attack team. New Member
In an effort to try and reduce ever spiralling costs Bob has decided not to have Ben and the Eurospec guys provide full "on Event" support, although they are still preparing the car beforehand. When Bob first started out on trackdays I just went with him and we did all our own work. This time I am delighted to announce that I have enlisted Paul. (111Mattin111) to join me on the team. This will allow Bob to focus solely on driving.. As I am now over 65 I felt the need for some extra help especially if we have to do multiple wheel changes on top of the usual stuff so Paul fitted the job description perfectly.:thumbup1: Im sure he will be a great asset . Paul will have a full "access all areas" pass and will hopefully gain a useful insight in to the growing world of "on event" support. As I have said on previous occasions the Time Attack pits are a busy and exciting place and all the teams, even the top ones are really friendly and helpful. Im confident Bob and the car will survive the day :whistling: and then its on to Brands Hatch for the season finale!!!Sun 29th Sept. Its probably too far for Paul to attend due to new family committments so I will probably be posting a "situation vacant " advert for an assistant!!!

Time Attack Round 5. Split Dates!!
Well August has been and gone. So we are nearing Round 5 at Donington. for the club class I spoke to Bob today and the car is almost ready. :thumbup1: Jaffa has been on holiday and so has Jimmer. Lets hope they are now hard at work on James car this week!!!:tongue_smilie: As usual forum members are welcome to pop in and say hello if they are coming to the event. I just need to add the usual caution that at some times during the day drivers and/or pit crew may not have time to chat. Especially if things arent going to plan..

Might be usefull to someone ??
With Copart you never know anything!!! Its "as iswhere is" It clearly doesnt run or they would have said so!!! You have to be registered with Copart to bid. It may look like an auction but in reality it isnt. Copart will only sell it if the "bids" are in excess of the figure they need/want to return on the vehicle. If not they just relist it again... and again There are also Copart fees to be paid by the buyer. Caveat emptor"

A crazy stupid engine mount question!
Yes it would be crazy. The cost of repairing the damage if it failed on a high speed bend or a roundabout or under heavy braking will make the small sum of money needed to get a decent one to replace it seem like a bargain. Even if you have to wait till next payday DONT put that on the car.
-
Whos bidding then??
Way to go!:thumbup1:

Whos bidding then??
The auto will indeed annoy the hell out of you but its relatively easy to convert to manwell. and cheaper than before due to the increase in cars being broken and the decrease in cars on the road. The SWB man is a very competent little package. I bought a similar car late last year for not a lot of money. Except mine is a slicktop (of course). Ser 2 NA auto. I am going to convert it to manwell as the conversion kit I had never sold on its own JFDI

Carpets for a Z
But maybe if its stitched you could unpick it? Then if you have Fairlady mats over it you wont see it?

Rear diffuser
Gary just think about it for a minute........ How can the same piece fith FIVE different cars properly!! Dave likes to make and sell stuff that fits properly for the car its made for. That rules this bit out.:no::no: You forgot the IMO bit!! So.... nice 300ZX shame about the Ford bumper:lol: Correct :thumbup1: There is only one rear diffuser that looks good on a 300ZX And my one is somewhere between Peru /Germany and Langley Mill Notts. Whan it gets here Ill let you have a look:laugh:

alloy welding
IMO nobody in their right mind would do a repair on that and be responsible for the consequences of it failing again. (and it will in all probability )

Upgrade shocks advice please!
Agreed! However its also about how much money you have to spend. Its also about what use the car is put to. The subject can be very complicated and the end product quite expensive. New shocks on their own is the first step and it goes all the way up to the level of Tein Monoflex with EDFC well said that man.
