Speedo/Speed sensor.Not working
I dont think it comes out without dropping the back of the box a bit. That isnt fast or easy on the deck at my age Plus my spare is just as unknown.Although it looks good as per Jeffs picture. Remember I built this car from a bare repaired shell and added bits from several breakers I bought over the years. There were always going to be some little issues doing it like that. This is one of them. 240Zs are much easier

Speedo/Speed sensor.Not working
This is what jeff said.............................. So what do I need to set the Fluke meter to in order to measure the pulse generated???

Speedo/Speed sensor.Not working
I have started to take a look at this problem today. Tried another speedo. Not working. Problem here is I dont know if its a good unit or not?? Looked at speed sensor on car and according to Jeffs pictures its all OK. However I just want to check if thats the case. according to the thread Jeff says it produces a pulsing signal of around 1 to 5 volts AC. Can I measure that with a Fluke multmeter with the rear wheels being driven up on axle stands If so is it the V with the little wave above on the Fluke unit that I need to set it to?? Dont laugh!!! I dont normally do diagnostics and meters!!!:clown: Since the speedo never worked from day one of building the car Im starting to wonder if I created the problem during the build. Wiring loom was all TT auto with Hicas connections etc. But I built the car as a non hicas NA manual. ?? Without the solenoids etc on the inner wing. I have also deleted the power steering ECU???Power steering works fine without it. So maybe all the wires arent connected??

Zedfest
Its not expensive if you are having a full weekend. The point Im making is that for anyone who can just spare a day to come then £15 is too much for what you get. What do you actually get??? Well thats just one part of Traxx. There are hundreds of cars to look ac. Dozens of trade stands. Track action. Time Attack rounds . Probably some Drift Demos etc etc They have made entry on Sunday at Zedfest a fiver.... which is more realistic for a day sat in a field
-
Zedfest
Although its only half an hour away I wont bother. it has little to offer me other than a social chat to a few friends IMO it has declined in recent years and at £15 entry if you only go on the Saturday its a very expensive field to sit in. Compare that price to £16 for a full day at Trax Silverstone.:w00t: I dont do camping either!!! And I hate those stupid team games too. I know I know.... Im a grumpy old git:lol: But we pensioners need to be careful with money......

radiator over flow bottle delete
Correct. Its just an overflow bottle NOT a header tank More uneccessary junk that can be deleted. If you are using the car in some form of motorsport then you need some sort of catch tank but for normal road use an open pipe to the chassis will do

were can i buy a brake master cylinder from
Just like the early Zeds the whole pattern part business is driven by the American market as the UK market is too small. So when an item is handed it invariably is for a LHD car. Its no big deal using a LHD BMC. Just need a bit of new pipe. The price difference is too great to ignore It could well be IMO. After all it might be 20+ years old. I personally wouldnt re seal any BMC that old, especially on a 300BHP supercar. Given that the reseal kit is probably not cheap anyway and you have all the job of fitting the kit then £120 to me seems not unreasonable given that brake failure will cost considerably more. All of course IMO

What did you do to your zed today?
Took it at 11.00am today...............................................Passed. Brake balance was 1% away from a fail:sweatdrop: but now I have a tax disc a little blast up the bypass will soon cure that as it was just due to some surface rust on the discs from standing outside all that time:crying:
