Bobgenie's Slicktop. 2014 Makeover.
Yes it will. We may add a further extension to it. ATM it goes back to the Rad support panel . We will be making up some undertray at the back too to maximise the air extraction of the Twinz diffuser and stop air getting trapped in the back of the bumper.. i know to most people it seems like a lot of dicking around for little gain but it all adds up. Power. Weight. Areodynamics and Chassis dynamics(suspension) are all important. Just imagine (say) Bob and James in a head to head shoot out. Start with two equal cars. If you then do one tiny mod to one car only to gain 2/3 mph on a straight then that becomes the winning car. We are nowhere near the limit with Bob's car yet. a classic example being the Stillen anti roll bars I have just fitted to my car. Bob's car has them too and since I fitted them when I built the car ist time round they have never been adjusted. Spring/early summer testing should give us an opportunity to fine tune them to Bob's liking. and similarly with ride heigt, suspension stiffness brake bias etc etc

Bobgenie's Slicktop. 2014 Makeover.
And I did!!! The guys are making excellent progress The overall result is really good. Darren had a lot of trouble getting the interior painted due to the heavy contamination the track cars get from oil grease and various sprays which get used on them. So some "fish eye " was almost inevitable. The difficult areas have been re painted and once I fit the bits n pieces back inside then it wont be noticable. The outside is resplendent in "Artic White" and we will need sunglasses to work on it when the sun shines.:punk: Of course its not just white all over.... there are some "other colours " to be added....................laterz!!!!! The best bit is still to come........the new "Custom" arches are almost ready... Meantime enjoy the pics......................

Go racing?
Bob you are missing the point Im making. I KNOW they are minimum weights. The point is at 1500+kg and only 300hp the car wont be competivive as its way OVER the weight of other competitive cars. Of course its eligible.
-
Go racing?
Covered that already... The 300GT class is out due to weight limit. To be competitive in "Super GT" someone would need the kind of spend you and James have done. that doesnt come under the heading "reasonable budget" LOL!!!
-
Go racing?
yes it would. You would need to replace them with something non glass. Composite/ally etc. The Nippon challenge came to mind but the 300 wont be competitive due to the power/weight formula used. a big chunk of your ist year budget would be taken up in prepping the car I think. Cage. brakes seats harnesses. fire exting . suspension. wheels n tyres. You just cant go racing on a "modest budget" in a 300 Check out the two Time Attack weapons in this section of the forum to get some ideas of the eyewatering costs . And Time Attack isnt "heads up " either

Go racing?
there is only the "Roadsports " class on 750MC that might accept a 300ZX. Its not currently on the list tho. It does have 350Z S14 and S15 on the eligible list. enquiries from other models are invited. Do you already have a race licence and experience?? What model 300 do you have?? Is it alrady "race prepped2???

Normally the LWB boxes are two long for a SWB . The angles on the pipes are different too.

Bobgenie's Slicktop. 2014 Makeover.
I made an emergency trip to the bodyshop today with some much needed bumper brackets. I nearly caught Darren working!! LOL!! Work is progressing well. There is a huge amount of remedial work needed to get the car back in shape. Most of the work is not visible but a quick inspection today reassures me that the end result is going to be really good. The boys have spent a day re pulling the front end to get the front suspension back within acceptable tolerances. I can see the difference without measuring it!!! It was over 10mm out before. So no more wheels going back on to bodywork on tight LH bends! They had to replace the LHS front tension rod bracket as it was kinked. So thanks to Mark Derby for that. Im liking the custom brackets to secure the rear spoiler stays. We will be able to remove and refit the spoiler quickly now and have it back in the same place every time. Enjoy the pics...................................

Brake lines.
Copper pipe is weak and fractures easily. Kunifer is better but harder to work with. Braided hose is just superior in every respect. Strength. Ease of fitment etc. You dont run them thru firewalls!!! You use bulkhead/firewall fittings. Welcome to a whole new world of stuff. Have a look at these pages of the "Rally Desighn" catalogue. It will give you some idea of what is available. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Euroquip&x=10&y=9&osCsid=4b25sjbi25b92jbua26i7uuug1

Brake lines.
Braided brake line does NOT flex and cause the pedal to disappear. Go to the paddock of any race meeting or service area of any rally right up to WRC level and you will see virtually ALL the cars use braided brake lines. Normal road cars dont need them and since it is at least 4 times as expensive to buy then very few people use them.. Plus you need to be able to sit down and draw/plan the whole system with the correct fittings and order it. That in itself is beyond many peoples skill set. i have just gone thru the process for the rally 240Z I am building. Cost around £150 in parts and probably the best part of a day to make it all up. Compare with a roll of copper pipe and a handful of tube nuts... £25

Loads of advice needed putting zed off road for well deserved new parts etc.
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_862463_langId_-1_categoryId_255215 This would be a good starting point. A lot of stuff for your money. The only slight downside is it contains SAE sizes which you dont need on a Nissan. But buying just the metric stuff in several sets would soon add up to this kind of money. You then need to add a Pliers set and a mixed screwdriver set. And a big Hammer.
