York Raceway 30/8/15
I went to York today to have a play up the strip. The weather conditions were 100% perfect for quick times and I managed to knock 2/10th of my PB from TOTB. 14.34sec ET at 93.78mph. 60ft time. 2.08sec Both car and driver were working well. In my little world of NA runs I was very happy with that. Its 9 years since I ran a 60ft time of that order so to be able to still do that in my late sixties shows Ive still got a few years left in me as far as motorsport goes.:innocent:

What did you do to your zed today?
Put Mickey Thompsons on. Check pressures and all fluid levels ready for a trip to York Raceway tomorro. I have not driven the car since TOTB in July so looking forward to a day out and giving the car some use/abuse. Weather forecast for York area is dry till later in day:clap:

Whats my best way to JAE?
And it is still the same. One of the most dramatic locations in Britain for a small town. I spent the last two years of my working life working in Matlock itself so I passed through it on the way there n back.

Whats my best way to JAE?
I personally would use the M6 and A50 towards M1. The A453 past Nottingham is now finished and the A46 out to Newark is a brilliant bit of road. You can give it a few revs thru the Meir Tunnel in Stoke on this route too:yes:

Federal 595 RSR's
Pete has them!! A good budget trackday tyre.. I dont have big power but they are very stable/predictable on a dry track in my experience. On a damp or lightly wet track they are "nervous". In the proper wet like all similar track day tyres they are lethal. On a soaking wet motorway they will aquaplane at 50 mph. Not suitable IMHO for normal roadgoing 300ZX owners/cars. I run 225/40-18 up front and 265/35-18 at rear. If you are going for a 285 rear you will need at least a 10" rim to get the tread area to sit nicely. My 265 is spot on on my 9" rims

JaiKai - Full rebuild & Respray
You only need enough of the color coat to get an even colour. Use multiple layers of clear coat on top to give you sufficient protection. If you could get them done in 2K clear rather than regular single pack rattle can lacquer then it will last longer

Another Ebay clown
Richie this isnt some little guy selling a few items..and trying to rip you off intentionally There are over 7000 items in the shop. The feedback is approaching 1/4 million. Total sales will be much much higher as most people dont bother leaving feedback on cheap stuff. This is a substantial business buying from multiple Chinese factories and selling thousands of items globally. Most of it will be OK clearly from the volume of feedback but all this far Eastern stuff has a higher percentage of failures than what we here consider acceptable Just open a dispute and paypal will/should refund you.

Another Ebay clown
Just open a paypal or Ebay dispute. "Item not as described"

What did you do to your zed today?
The problem is many manufacturers tint in the glass is at 30% so adding any film may well put it overthe limit. thats possible on a random stop. More worrying is a check be an insurance assesor after even an accident looking for any way out of a claim as the car is illegal and hence the insurance is null and void.

picked up my old new zed today
Wing mounted mirrors were only on JDM models. Most of the rest of the world market had door mounted ones. UK. europe. USA. So its not a case of them being replaced.. they were never there in the first place. Its now quite fashionable to fit them to non JDM cars as reproduction ones are available for moderate money.

Tell me again how you don't like the Z31...
i certainly dont like them in NA auto 2+2 form. A dull and sluggish piece of 80s design with nothing of the classic lines of its older family Zs That is of course a mint example but I wouldnt drive about in it even if you gave it to me. I did have a 2+2 early turbo manual for a few months so my opinion is based on some knowledge. Ultimately its just my opinion tho. The model does have a following.

picked up my old new zed today
I think you might be a bit optimistic with your pricing structure..:innocent: One sold on ebay last month for £122 . I have one for sale at the moment witha couple of tiny marks for under £100. You can hardly give away 260Z instruments. I must have over a dozen lying about. Are they in silver paint????

picked up my old new zed today
Japan... Nissan Factory. Originally sold new in this country . Ist generation 2 seater. One of only 400 originally sold in the UK. Rarer than the 240Z by some way but still not as highly valued .

Braided hoses

Braided hoses
Its a similar arrangement....the little metal pipes will be different length tho. If you are fitting braided lines direct to the caliper you will need a banjo type fitting at the caliper end and as Si has already stated they WILL need to be supported. Making the little metal pipes is easy and very cheap and IMO is an easier solution as you dont need braided lines with banjos just the conventional Nissan style side clip fittings

HELP - broken down
In reality its not the fuel pump itself that is the problem its the person who fitted it. That is the root cause of the problem.:whistling:

Manual conversion clutch pedal too soft
Always a good idea to glue it in place. I rebuild servos for the earlier zeds and alway glue it in place.
