Track days
LOL!!! LOL!!! Whether it was by design or accident but you all managed not to be on track at the same time as me .:whistling:................................... Good job really as you would have been treated to the humiliating experience of an old age pensioner overtaking you in an NA!!:thumbup1: :lol::lol:

Track days
http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?183530-Here-for-another-year&p=1898156#post1898156 Sadly Im afraid you are right. Look how few of us were out at Japfest last year. And Events like Japfest arnt full on trackdays just 15/20 min taster sessions. Its the same thing about going to York to have a blast down the strip... Nobody ever comes. Ive given up trying to interest others.

The Z32 joins the 25 year club
LOL!!! that is funny.:yes: Probably a contender for "quote of the year" on the first day:thumbup:

Here for another year.
Thanks guys. Its good to be here. Im planning/hoping to get out and about as much as possible this year. Already booked track action at Japfest. Im planning on doing the same at Japfest 2 at Rockingham and Trax also. I enjoy a run up to York Raceway for some 1/4 mile action so thats on my list again. The Track Attack day a few of us went to at Three Sisters track in 2015 was a fun experience so thats on the list again. Im also pondering going to Cadwell Park early season for a Novice only Car track day. There is support and tuition available and its 20 min session based not open pit lane format. http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/calendar/2016/march/21-cp-nov.aspx At my advanced age it might be difficult to teach an old dog new tricks but it might give my confidence a bit of a boost :scared:

MeisterR owners - come forth and discuss!
Thats when I got mine too IIRC .... after Andy Isherwood had done some testing for Jerrick. The SWB rates were 6 and 4 as opposed to the LWB rates of 8 and 6. The general positive reaction all round is at odds with what Ash is saying about the set up Thats why I suggested he take his apart and check . There may well be one or more seized adjusters and they could be seized in a max stiffness mode. The SWB set up on mine effectively feels tighter on spring rates than it will on a heavier 2+2. But its not overly stiff in normal road use so long as the dampers are on a lowish setting. On track mine corners flat as those who have seen me out there may testify. Part of that is due to the Stillen Sway bars I have(like Joel). They make a HUGE difference to the on track experience. IMO they are a "must fit" to any track orientated Z32. Once again their effect is greater on my very light car than on a full trim 2+2 like Joels. So in summary Joel and me have the same set up. Meister + Stillen on two very different incarnations of the car. We also have different uses for the car. What is interesting is how well the set up works for us both. The only real difference between us is my use of higher damper settings and Joels slightly lower ride height/stance. Im forced in to the ride height by my local road network and the need to get down the access road to York Raceway in under half an hour.

Z32s at auction
According to Brian Longs book tan leather interior was listed as an option for the 99+ car. He also says... "the final six vehicles were delivered to their new owners in 2001."

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
I would have asked you the question if Alan hadnt posted the link. My mate got sucked in to buying some Pilot sports for cheap price but didnt find out till he used them that they were "new"/ very old stock. They didnt grip at all well.

Its 100% related. Pre load is often ignored. Its why something like the Meister set up is so good as pre load can be set indepndently of ride height.. Older style JDM stuff doesnt have that facility.

MeisterR owners - come forth and discuss!
Well I dont want to sound dictatorial but before you go spending money on anything new you need to see whether your current set up is working properly or not and you need to measure the rate of your current springs. That will give you a base to make changes from. i also dont want to clog Simons thread about mainly roadgoing applications with chatter about a pair of track focussed slicktops. What works for Si and similar cars/owners wont work for us. Drop me you number on a PM and ill call you at a time to suit you. I also want you to have a ride(and drive) of my car before you open your wallet.

So tell us a bit more. Reasons for not liking etc What do you feel is better about BC coilovers?

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
Just out of interest ... how wide are the rear rims you are buying tyres for??

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
So thats great... You have made a decision. And IMO the correct one. If funds ATM dont allow for brand new Premium tyres the used versions will be a good compromise. You could also look at some of the budget makes and see if you can find one with a good A or B wet rating. Thats whats important for drivers like us on weekend cars... stopping/cornering in wet/damp conditions. Dont worry about poor "noise" or "mileage" ratings. They are much less important in a 300ZX

The Meister R will allow you to do all that independently. The dampening adjustment is pretty wide so you and anyone else can find a setting to suit your car/style of driving etc. They are independently height adjustable so once again ride height can be trimmed to your exact needs.. The spring perch is not used for height agjustment . Its only function is spring preload. You can have this at zero or any setting higher that you want. So whats not to like! My experience...........as follows I have them fitted to my trackday/drag car and I find them to be good at both disiplines and on the road. I keep ride height and pre load constant but alt er dampening to suit the event. The car was built from scratch using them so no previous experience on this car. The previous cars I had were less extreme and had similar Eibach/KYB combos. Good enough for the road but limited in their usefullness for the sporting stuff. This could be quite an interesting/informative thread if it can be kept on topic.

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
Agreed Craig.. they are probably fine or is that "might be fine" or possibly fine?? The time you might find out that they have no grip at all due to them being 10 years old is when you need to stop suddenly in a light summer shower cos a child/dog/horse/tractor etc appears suddendly in front of you. They are NOT brand new. They are 10 years old. The fact that they havent been on a car doesnt alter their age. Would you run a TT engine that had a cambelt fitted 10 years ago but not run since. Nobody can make the decision for you and nobody can give the definitive answer . It is up to you as its your car/life at stake. My opinion if you want it is I wouldnt fit them to my any of my cars even if they were free. IMO its the old adage... "if t looks too good to be true then it probably is to good to be true."

The words "Iconic Forum Car" spring to my mind. Not everyone will agree of course.. Great to see it in the safe hands of a caring owner.

Different Bulbs/Info for the Dash Clocks
In your haste to keyboard I think you have missed a few letters off at the end. They are " IMHO" Maybe you didnt see all of Andys comments.......... FYI Andy is the forums resident "lighting guru" and is skilled and passionate about his work. Im sure he would have fitted blue if he wanted it blue:biggrin:

Tyres
Perhaps it would have been better to start your own thread about your used tyres rather than hijack someones thread about new tyres.

Obx headers for n/a
Your 96 reg car WILL require a cat test.. Cut off for a non cat test for a car not on the DVLA database is end June 95. Most of the NA headers sold are copies of Stillens original ones designed for LHD cars. On RHD cars moving a lambda sensor and a little pipetapping is required. There are several historic threads on the subject. A search might throw some up although some threads may be in the members only section.

Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details
LOl!!! At the first Nissan Parts day they held the passenger rides were actually round the site . We had to stop when a lorry came to deliver.:whistling: I have committed to Japfest and posted up my track slots to encourage others to come and have a go. In a club supposedly full of high powered cars Im always shocked to see how few people actually get out to drive them at speed.. Silverstone is one of the easist and safest tracks to have a go on even if you are a complete novice. Its where I first went three years ago at Trax when Groover came out as a passenger. That was my first ever track session So lets see a few more cars out on track. The joint clubs have two track sessions as Adam has indicated. Other slots at all levels from novice to Advanced are available at the moment. They can be booked direct thru the Japfest website.
