Its a very rare sight. There are probably only 10 cars in the club that get used in anger. My shift light is set at 6800 and I dont change up till I see it light up.

Well Im safely back home and had a great day. Rain came on schedule just before 2PM to spoil the finals etc Despite running an all time personal best quarter at 14.54 I still finished bottom of the table. Thats the problem with a non turbo car. So Im on a high but didnt achieve my goal on the day of avoiding last place on RWD I was 3mph down on last years time on the flyer KM . I might have found that if the rain had stayed away. On the day it is what it is and I came away with a well running car and a happy driver. I completed 4 runs on the handling but was slow. :thumbdown: A good day all round and thanks go to Ben at Eurospec 2000 for the loan of jack etc:thumbup1: Im sure Ian and maybe Bob will be along some time to tell their own tales

No. The guests would have had their own disclaimer for them to accept the risk as part of their invite and so exhibtors would not require insurance. Comments by yourself and others were the reason I posted it. To aid and re assure you all. Remember this is not a new event it has been held before and I was there as were about half the "track cars" None of us track drivers are naive enough to expose ourselves to claims of manslaugher by dangerous driving and then repeat the exercise a second time. Large corporates dont routinely expose themselves to claims/risks etc

List Updated. Its OK Ian as you say. Just having a couple of cars more makes it more interesting. Your club stand will be a nice addition also, giving others attending more opportunities to see 300ZXs and meet their owners. I think most of us know in advance that prize winning in not readily achievable but it wont spoil a fun day out with the cars.

Cool. Im already excited about it. It is fun for sure, tho getting all three bits done in time is hard work. I was just thinking on Sunday after Donington what a buzz it is to be able to accelerate flat out at max revs in each gear and dive into corners after stomping on the brakes safe in the knowledge that you wont lose you licence or end up alone and upside down in a ditch.. You will beat me on the quarter and the top speed flyer.:yes: I might get you on the handling???:tt2: Lets bring it on.:clap:

There is a good simple guide/explanation to toe camber and castor on that website. Well worth a read by anyone not familiar with the terms and their meaning.

Getting thru the whole day and three separate tests as well as the drive to the event is now pushing me to my limits so I wondered if anyone attending could provide a little help.?? No mechanical knowledge or physical prowess needed.So ladies youngsters or blokes Im planning on getting my 5 attempts at the handling done first in the morning. Each time a car runs they put a little timeslip in a box at the entrance. If someone comes to watch me take part (and other cars too) it would be of huge help if they could get my time slip and bring it to me in my car as I queue up to go again. This saves parking unbelting and getting out to do it myself while potentially losing place in the queue. After Im done with that Im going to change rear tyres and go to do 3/4 quarter miles and a flying kilometers. Same timing system applies with tickets in a box at the start. So if someone else or the previous helper can do the same with the timing tickets that would be brilliant. I will only be in qualifying part of the event I wont make the shoot out/eliminator part so you wont miss the big boys doing their finals Any help appreciated.

Lots of chit chat about the event on Noels thread... and plenty non relevant chat too. Lets hope we get a decent turnout. Its a great event to watch but maybe not for everyone to take part. Car and driver both working well.(I dont count a couple of half spins at the hairpin as a problem.):whistling: Passengers had a two lap trip and the 15 or so I took all declared they enjoyed it.:laugh: Comments like "Wow I didnt think it would be that fast" just go to making it worthwhile for me. Its alway interesting for me personally to be out among some REALLY fast cars. I look n learn. Fastest today by some margin was a black GTR. I did notice some disctete Litchfield sineage on some engine bay components. The owner has clearly spent more on tuning than the £10K that my car owes me There shouldnt be much for me to do for next weekend and TOTB.:yes: It was nice to catch up with "the polishers" who had a good display that was a credit to the club.
