  1. Bobs Red shell will be for sale after we have got all off that he wants. Probably a rolling shell. Maybe the correct wheels to go with it. And some interior. All to be decided soonish. We already have some interest in this so if you fancy it as a project then get saving a few pennies:cool3:
  2. LOL!! How many people have to tell you..... DONT paint them... POWDERCOAT them:hammer: If yer mate owes you a favour then get him to paint ya house or summat.:whistling:
  3. The car is coming out of storage at the beginning of August when I start work on it. I will be taking pictures then and I can confirm the condition(I know its good) and also tyre size and condition.
  4. There will possibly be a nice set of original 16" BBS alloys available soon. just up the road from you these were an original optional extra on the cars from new. Wheels in excelent condition. I think with 225s on at the moment but 245s will go on them Im sure
  5. You obviously didnt want them very badly if £2.40 was more than your bid.:innocent:
  6. Prop centre bearing gets my vote..
  7. and thats exactly the point.. Its a goal, a hope, a dream , an aspiration. these things dont have to sensible or justifiable they exist in peoples heads and in the case of guys like Bobgenie and me its what gets us looking forward. Its what makes me get out of bed on a day off work and get on with the project. Whatever it is. Plenty of dull non aspirational plods in the world. We have a few on here. Most pharmacies I work in are full of them:yawn:
  8. Yes I get to do all the fun bits(not):mad2: Stripping out eng/box aircon etc. Then it just gets better..... Cleaning the engine bay back to shiny paint, undersealing the whole floorpan and cavity injecting all the box sections. Swapping subframes and suspension bits. The car Bob is using is a fresh import from Japan. Just off the boat and never used in the UK. It is ultra clean and rust free underneath and thats the way I want it to stay. I have arranged for my local garage/MOT test station to help with heavy work like subframe swaps on their 2 post lift.:sweatdrop: My target date to start is Mon 2nd Aug. for those who are interested I can post a few pics of the car before I start, and maybe a couple as work progresses.
  9. Yep we have discussed this ratity thing before. Only about 750 99 spec cars made. My concern with this particular car is that it is neither a pristine stock car nor is it a race car with any pedigree. In the collectors world these two types of car are where the big money is. This particular car just doesnt cut it in either category.. Its a very nice example but Im still looking for a 99 spec slicktop in sonic silver or lightning yellow. Manual of course:wink:
  10. Oooooh yes its very nice indeed:thumbup: Pearl Yelow is not on my list of colours that I like but hey ho it doesnt detract from a nice car at the end of the day. As Si has already mentioned just a few minor improvements in trim etc will make this 100%
  11. I think you will find that the longer RHS one is more than £35.
  12. Yep.Thats the whole point. Nail on head! They are your kids(and having met them...fab kids) Spend as much time as you can with them. Something tells me that you dont have kids Si. If you did you would never have written that.
  13. Yep he has let himself out!!!:confused1::confused1: There is a new slicktop project on the way! Bobgenie said.... So there you have it a new slicktop to be created incorporating Bob's existing power/drive units in a slicktop shell. Naturally im delighted to be asked to assist. I have already sourced an imaculate slicktop for the project which I have hidden away till its time to start work.(aug). Not even Bob has seen it yet. We are still in the planning stage hence my various posts requesting help, information and opinions. "This thread is useless without pics" Yes I know but you will need to wait a few weeks more. You want more details??? Just be patient.... we still dont know wot we are doing so how can we tell anyone??:stupid: :D:D:D
  14. Probably need to wait till he logs on. i know he is very busy with work(not Zeds) .
  15. Thats not strictly true. But i have heard of an even stranger thing some people have done...................................................................... They took a perfectly formed 2 seater car and cut bits of the roof out and put some greenhouse windows in:no::no: Unbelievable ... but true:tongue_smilie:
  16. As always Paul some very valid points. Its more difficult on a SWB to get the bends smooth cos you are missing 11 inches of length(oooh er mrs!!) and because of the different fuel tank arrangement. This has been a very interesting thread(IMO) with lots of good input which has all been noted. Thanks guys.
  17. Yep James your whole package is really excellent. We are not going quite so extreme with this project but we are deffo on your tail powerwise:tt2: i appreciate your thoughts and I know someone else who has done one. But on this project there can be no compromise. We need a known solution that will handle the volume of gas produced by an egine that is well in to the 500 horses league.
  18. Ford had a similar problem with the Electric Orange paint on the RS focus. In some lights the plastic parts that were painted were a different shade(minor) I believe the problem is just with some pearl finishes.
  19. what size tank do you use and whats your CFM on the compressor??
  20. They are good Just not that good!!
  21. No mate. The two cars have different design of exhausts. the popular misconception is that you can just cut n weld a 2+2 to go on a SWB. you are probably correct John but in the interests of fairness and cost I need to look at all the options.
  22. The car has forced induction and NOS. But thats not up for discussion on this thread. So lets keep it on track eh?? ( Im just project manager/logistics dogsbody)
  23. Thanks Dave..... for the link to the Billy goat one and the speciality Z one. I already have reservations tho about Speciality Z as they wont reply to enquiries about the baffled sump, so buying from them is looking to be a bit of a nightmare. We shall see. Next????
  24. Have you got a link for the Billy goat system??:cool3:
