well Nick came to help on the final bit of fitting as promised. The twinz rear bumper is now fitted. 1. It looks great.:cool3: 2. It is very well made.:cool3: 3. Out of the box it fits better than any of the usual fibreglass stuff I have seen on this forum or from any UK trader. 4. I need one. So does Nick!:cool3:

slicktop project
Last day of assembly today. My initial phase of the project is complete(apart from the TwinZ bumper-fit). Car is now back down on the deck complete with new wheels n tyres. Just got to load it on the trailer and deliver it to Dan at Advanced Motorsport nr Silverstone. Probably Tues next week. Looking back thru my work sheets I see I have spent 15 days on this car and the red one. It has been a major piece of work and at times a difficult logistical exercise to ensure everything on both cars has been removed and refitted to the correct car. Just one little slip ....I refitted a SWB handbrake cable to the SWB subframe after it was put on the red LWB shell. Realized as I was doing it.... thank goodness! It has been good to work with Bob on his project and I have been invited to do some more work in the finishing off stages later. I have a vision for the finished car and it will be good to be there to completion. Final pics... Enjoy.

Manual gearbox
given that the average manual g box will be approaching 20years old and a TT box will have had around 280 bhp shoved thru it for all of that time its not realistic to give any guarantees or warranties. You might get an import box from a later car with only 50000 miles on it or you might get a box from an early UK breaker with over 100000 miles on it. ALL of them are going to be worn to some degree. Fact. The only way to be half sure is to remove the bellhousing for a visual inspection of teeth and synchro cones etc.

Manual Conversion Adapter Ring
I cut two grooves in the side of the ring on opposite sides with a 1mm cutting disc. That then gave somewhere for a cold chisel to bite on. A few careful blows with a Birmingham screwdriver on alternate sides and out it came.

My new sidelights
Hmmm. Both Bobgenie and me need a sidelight in 99 spec indic unit as we are both having ducts instead of them big heavy foglights. i really dont like any of this Led stuff but I might have to go down this road. Decisions????

My new sidelights
Will these pass an MOT ok Graham???
-
silly question, how do u change the sidelight bulbs?
simple way to find out...... Switch on side lights... walk to front of car. Check what is lit up. i wasnt sure when the changeover came. Side lights were not in the fogs on 95 cars

My fish tank is boring...
Put some of them Pirana things in. Or just empty it and fry em all up in batter:oops:

Air con belt size with underdrive pulley
You have fitted a QH part to your ZED:ohmy::gun_bandana:
-
silly question, how do u change the sidelight bulbs?
What you need to do depends on the year and model of car you have. Early J spec cars have the side light in the fog unit Later ones have them in with the indicator unit. I dont know about UK cars cos I never owned one.

Brilliant dry weather and warm enough to get the engine bay cleaned up and a quick repaint. This weekend should see the stuff back in the engine bay and the Tein Coilover suspension fitted.
