Its Golden black..... a special shade of Black only found on cars in Blackpool:whistling:

Paint names different for imports?
Silver metallics are notoriously difficult to match on a car especially one that is almost 20 years old. Remember also that the paint you get is a basecoat. only once the laquer is applied will you get the true colour effect.

respraying polyurathane front bumper...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290525570251&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Plus http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290523689380&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT plus 250ml of basecoat(about £10 ish) Job done. Get it local to you and you wont pay any carriage. There will be more primer and laquer than you need but its not usually available in smaller quantities at at any better price. Plastic primer is available in an aerosol if you need it but unless you are stripping ALL the existing paint off I dont think its really neccessary. All IMHO of course HTH Pete

Rest in pieces - 600zx
Dont talk silly. You know perfectly well you will get only a tiny amount of what you have spent back selling as a failed project in these difficult times.. A TVR Tuscan!! WTF have you eaten for breakfast?? Just get stuck in to work and get some web work done too. It wil get done.....later FFS I have been four years on mine and it still isnt done:angry: I will get that solid tow bar out and we can get it moved to the new house once you get the keys. Just take the front bumper off so we dont damage it while towing.

Nice one Bob. Im pleased to see Dan and his team are getting on with it. EDIT.... Just the wheels then:yes:
-
slicktop project
Well its gone:cry::cry: Guy turned up on time this morning and I helped him load up... no problem. He put two short planks down on the end of the bed. I drove the car on to them with the front wheels just on the bed. Got out. Winch attached and the rest is done in 2 minutes. The Recaros are at Dans workshop so hopefully DAN/ Bob can get some pics up as soon as they are installed. The 200mph goal is still on... but not just yet. I think Bob's wallet needs to recover first:ohmy: So thats it from me.........................................................expect to see some pics of an orange and antracite written off and rebuilt slicktop shell draped in out dated carbonfibre on another thread soon.:whistling::whistling: Now where did I put my glasses down????? :D:D:D

What do you think to this Z?
looks like a good starting point for a project Baz. Just go and look at it. Make sure its straight and not rusty. At the end of the day thats all you need. IMO.
-
slicktop project
Well Im very pleased at the outcome myself. Those of you watching need to remember that there are still two major components still to come........ 1. New Recaro seats 2. New wheels. Then it really will look good IMO.

Gas Struts for Rear Tailgate
SWB has different strut. IIRC

slicktop project
Probably the final pics from me for the time being. Car on its way Monday to Dan's workshop. I had it running today in my back yard/garden as I turned it ready for loading. If any of the neighbours were having a long lie in then I have just spoilt their day!!! Enjoy

Manual - Notchy /crunchy in the morning, just me?
First signs of weakening synchromesh . Common in boxes of this age . Colder and hence thicker oil accentuates the problem. When oil warms up it thins down and the problem is reduced. Using a thinner high shear oil will help for a time . MT90 or similar but it doesnt "cure" the core problem of wear in the box. Not related to clutch hydraulics. (IMO)

Few more jobs today..... Install new scuttle panels. Install new side indicators Install HID kit(PITA) Just got a couple of chrome pieces to fit in engine bay and some cables to tidy before it gets picked up on Monday to go back to Advanced Motorsport. Car is now too valuable for me to risk trailering behind my Mondeo so Dan at Advanced Motorsport is arranging a fully insured transporter to collect. Todays pics..................

Nice Zed
Yep probably parked in fields near the docks for ages..... rusting away in the salt sea breeze:oops:
-
Nice Zed
It may well be registered in mid 94 here in the UK but Im sure you will find its factory build date will be 93. Spec changes are defined by build date not registration date and for some cars this can be well separated.
-
Nice Zed
Electronic hicas was introduced for the 94 year model, ie series 4. But the car was produced from Oct 93 according to Brian Long's authoritative book on the subject. So on that basis its got hicas!!!:tt2: Just not the old school one:D:D
-
Nice Zed
Probably because its still got the Hicas system on it then!!
-
slicktop project
Just another day at the office then...... Hello Series 2 alcantara.... goodbye Ser 4 charcoal/black cloth. Ignore the grey tweed pass seat on the drivers side thats only there so we can drive the motor ATM. We should be saying hello to some Recaros very soon! Clear side indics and HID lights are next.

quite like this
The ultimate in zed tackiness. I wouldnt fit it if you sent £20 with it. The Z battery clamp comes a close second. IMHO of course. We are all different etc etc
