  1. Have you any detail pics of them without the stainless trim??? Is it easy/hard to remove?? Is it fubared once you get it off or reuseable??? My GT2s have the trim on them. Its OK as is but Im interested what is under it??
  2. Funny but also kind of interesting. I have only just re started on my project so its not yet complete. Even a virtual meet/spec sheet would be good.
  3. Nothing at all under the dash where the glove box was.The little all in one heater blower is centrally mounted with two tubes to the screen and two little vents for air in to the cabin. I will be fitting the Emerald ECU up there out of harms way. I left the plastic g lever surround cos it weighs very little and it helps support the dash. I also left the centre consol behind the handbrake so I would have a storage area for phone. wallet etc
  4. Yes indeed. I am familiar with their full house Safari spec cages in 240Zs. Just looking at the weight figure in your Title. Thats very respectable for the family version.:thumbup1: Here is a quick pic of my minimalist interior. As you can see its a work in progress:blink:
  5. Yep thats a "family" version for sure. I can spot them a mile off.....Then I run away:innocent: :rofl::rofl: I suppose the slicktop wheelbase is too short tho for successful drifting?
  6. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=147318 Seek and you shall find. The cage should be awesome.. Look forward to seeing that.
  7. Depends on the size and CFM of your compressor really. Little touch up gun with a 1.2 nozzle will be OK on a 8 to 10 CFM machine bit for whole panels you really need a 3hp 14cfm job with a min 50L tank and then you can run a 1.4mm or 1.8mm gun In the compressor world bigger is usually better:thumbup: All IMHO of course:biggrin:
  8. And what did they charge you?? You could of had these........... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=146179
  9. And you get that 10mm you need by loosening the crossmember bolts to allow the whole assembly to drop... ......errr 10mm.:thumbup1: no need to remove rack.
  10. Im sensing that you are not a fan then Dave:rofl::rofl:
  11. My opinion. Comes under the "something else all together" heading............... Dont do it cos looks chavvy n tacky. Im sure others are gonna disagree tho:winkiss:
  12. No ...NOT VINYL wrapping!!! Bloomin parcels... Dontya just luv it....NOT:no: Anyway its ready and there are NO PRIZES for guessing wot it iz. Im sure its new owner is looking forward to it arriving:biggrin:
  13. And as such a Slicktop shell in todays depressed market aint gonna be worth much more then the weigh in price. tere are very few members or prospective owners who are prepared to construct a car from a shell. I got mine for free!!! But i did have to pay to have it straightened again:huh: So it wasnt really free:lol: But it wasnt very expensive either:thumbup1:
  14. Completely . Two choices Re locate the existing bottom pin holes Or make/ buy an adaptor to go from the existing hole to the new location. Gaz/Hellraiser put up a pic a while back.
  15. The fun comes when you try n find someone to cut it!!!!
  16. And you should love it Rob cos it really is a cracking example.
  17. Welcome back!! I have an NA auto speed sensor if you eventually find yours is no good.
  18. Thanks Mark. I have already tried to tell him.... Maybe he will listen to you:whistling: :gun_bandana::gun_bandana:
  19. Maybe you could be a bit more aggressive with your weight loss program. I can see......foglights. Ditch them.Put a sidelight bulb in indicators I can see......J spec electric folding mirrors.... Ditch them in favor of some lightweight ABS plastic ones Have you removed ALL the floor sound deadening. It weighs a lot. have you removed all the heater. blower and aircon inside?? replace with light weight kit car unit. Or even better a plug in electic blower to demist with. Have you seeen Silver Bullets Polycarb window thread. That means you can ditch the heavy glass and all the motors n stuff. Maybe a lightweight Carbon fibre tailgate is over your budget but a good compromise is to remove the glass and all the inner metal and bond a light weight poly carb sheet in place of the glass. Same with side 3/4 windows. And what about some replacement Targa panels. Maybe in reinforced fibreglass. Bonded in perhaps. your cage is going to replace any lost rigidity. unfortunately its going to add a lotta weight too. So get one in T45 for best strength/weight Losing weight is all about detail. Every 500gm counts.
  20. deffo a good plan. Just pull all the bulbs for warnings. No warning lights = no reasons to fail it:thumbup: Cos its all working!!!!
  21. This whole thread is turning in to quite a learning experience... for all of us. Its difficult to get in to late car knowledge as they are fairly rare over here.
  22. Well I never noticed any difference on Ser1 dials auto to man NA so I guess not on later series either. I personally only have seen Man versions of this later type.
